Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a debilitating nervous system condition that has completely changed how I engage in fitness. But being the stubborn "gym rat" that I am, I have refused to give up lifting and sprinting. My condition has caused major changes in my gait, proprioception, and running mechanics, which have been causing me a lot of silly injuries. A close friend recommended Sneakerama, theorizing that maybe "the right" shoes could help. I was skeptical, but decided to pop in to see what all of the hype among my avid runner friends was all about! When I walked in, I was welcomed with a friendly greeting and immediately jumped into a conversation about what my goals were. When I explained my wild healthy history, Alex listened empathetically and almost immediately knew what I needed - a minimalist shoe with a wide toe box to help correct my over-pronation and balance issues. He came back with four different styles, each with unique features which he explained thoroughly and allowed me to take for a "test stroll"! I ended up choosing a very cool pair of Altras - a brand I had never even heard of before! The next morning, I tried out my new shoes at the gym and I was THRILLED! I felt much more stable and was able to better engage targeted muscles while lifting. These Altras are a GAME CHANGER! Not only do they have me feeling better supported, they've also given me my confidence back! :) Sneakerama is a hidden gem! I grew up in Worcester and had never. been inside... I called Trippies and they had told me that typically for what I needed done I would have needed to call weeks in advance. I expressed my urgency and concern as my baby shower was only three days away. I was asked to come in same day so they can look at it, I tried the dress on and the nice lady said that she doesn't know if they'll be able to make it work with how much adjustment the dress needed. She called over her coworker, and forgive me for not Remembering their names. He looked at the dress 360 and he said he could make it work! I left my dress with them at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and they close at 5 PM. They had my dress altered by the following early afternoon. I came back in to try it on the next day and only minor adjustments needed to be made. They had my dress ready again the next day before my baby shower. They were so kind and helpful and did what they could to make it work and be just on time with such short notice. I will always come back here. They shortened the sleeves, hemmed the dress, fixed the latch on back or dress, made a stitch to bring up the V line , and tightened the shoulders . They even added extra fabric to the side of the dress because my baby bump would not allow the zipper to go all the way up! The dress looked beautiful and they really made it work.

This was immediately pointed out to me by my fellow platoon members upon RFD at the barracks. only 1 blouse and 1 Patrol cap was deemed serviceable by my line leaders. This is an extreme dis-service to me as I thought i was going to receive high quality and received everything but. I can understand that mistakes happen, but you can only mess up so many times before a customer begins to question the business. While the prices may seem high, the truth is that high quality shoes are just expensive and PR Running is competitively priced with the manufacturer websites. Their prices seem to be very typical retail price (you can probably find a better deal online) but if you like the personal touch of demoing the machine and knowing you can get it serviced where you buy it, then this would be the place for you. They have sewing machines, sergers and embroidery machines and they do cleaning and repair of machines as well. I asked about the prices and while they vary from machine to machine (and repairs required) the prices weren't astronomical. They're open on weekends for a few hours in the afternoon (Closed Sundays in the summer I believe) so be sure to call first and check their hours.

Take one of the classes that are offered to be truly impressed by the helpfulness and knowledge of the staff and owner. Chris offers a discount on purchases made at the time of class. I have gone to three embroidery club meetings and all the material was supplied, the design(s) and all precutting done for me. The cost averages out to $9.83 a class. (It varies depending on the supplies she has to buy.) There are at least two employees available during the whole session to help with questions/problems. We all have a fantastic time. I purchased a high-end sewing/embroidery machine from Chris and could not be more pleased with the price and her integrity. After sale support is phenomenal. Having purchased three other machines elsewhere I feel I can honestly say phenomenal and it's not hyperbole. Stop in; you won't be disappointed.
