I've been here a couple of times now and it's definitely a great spot. The staff is super friendly and more than willing to talk about all the brews they have on tap. They are well known for their sours and now I know why. We had a flight of four, all of which were very good, but the star was Gimme Swelter Mango Habanero. It had such a depth of flavor between the spice and the sweet! It's an award-winning brew and why not! The tasting room is fairly large with lots of amazing art work brought in by a local curator who switches it out every so often. There is a large wrap around bar and plenty of seating. I've been here a couple of times over the last few months and they always have a few awesome sours on tap (their other beers are great too, but I can't get enough of sours!). Another fine addition to the Bay breweries on our side if the bridge! Representing many styles from IPAs, to stouts, to particularly good sour ales and saisons, and a little bit in between. It's tucked away in a strip mall, but once your inside, you'd never know it. Very comfortable place with lots of bar room, a few tables for groups to get sudsy, and an outside area where food trucks line up on most nights. Beer prices are reasonable with most beers running $5-6 and most beers are offered in a flight of four 6 oz. Tasters for $12. You want to taste a beer before committing? That's usually free. Service is quick and friendly and I've yet to have a beer here that wasn't at least decent. Most are great to exceptional! May be one of my favorite breweries in the area! My lady friend and I love us some sour beers. Being that we are from Maine, we have access to some amazing belgian and farmhouse breweries that have great sour programs and projects. When we were looking for things to do in Florida, we were afraid that there wouldn't be breweries that appealed to us. Let me just say how happy I am we found Arkane. A crew of friendly and passionate folks that know how to brew some absolutely fantastic beers. Clearly they are not afraid to try new things, and I cannot wait to see what comes out of this young establishment. On top of being amazing in general, they even helped us package up and ship some Crowlers of beer back to Maine, and for that we are extremely grateful! If you are in the area, JUST GO HERE! I went for the first time with my son and his wife for sour beer day. They were all delicious. My favorite is Yoda Pants! Skittles was also amazing! The atmosphere was very laid back and relaxing. We had BBQ from Mouthhole food truck and played UNO! I can't wait to go back. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Went in not expecting much for it being in a strip plaza but it's actually good size on the inside and has a large outdoor area as well. Wonderful experience! We were in the area taking our dogs to a nearby park. Looked up breweries to have some post walk refreshments. This place had great reviews, so we tried it out. Located at a strip mall, this brewery is actually pretty spacious and nice inside. We walked in with our dogs and they are dog friendly! The patrons at the bar were very welcoming too. It's always nice to be among chill and friendly folks. The bartender was very patient with us and let us try a few beers. We're not big fans of sours and they seem to be specialized in those. They also have wheat, lager, and mead, but little variety. We sat in the back at the low table with our dogs. They had a few small children inside, but they were very well behaved and if anything our puppy made more noise than them (sorry about that, working on socializing). Overall we were very happy with our find. Delicious beer, friendly folks, and dog friendliness is what made our day! read more

If you're going to open a new brewery in Pinellas County, you best bring your A-game. There are already so many established breweries in the area that you're going to immediately be compared to them. Luckily for Arkane, they don't put a foot wrong. They have a large open room which always has a relaxed atmosphere without all the noise of some of their competitors. There's much more space inside than at other breweries in the area - I'm not going to name names! The beer is the main attraction. I'd guess they have about 14 different brews on tap at any one time, but unlike other breweries they haven't put quantity over quality and each beer is unique in style and taste. My favourite is their Gose which seems to always be on tap - it's nice and tarte with the taste of apples. I like how much variation they have - all of which is detailed on their giant blackboard. Sour beers seem to be a speciality, but also German and Belgium styles. I can't think of any real downside to the brewery. The space is good, as is the beer. My only tiny criticism is they aren't closer to my house...but I don't suppose that's their fault. read more

Pinellas county has many great breweries. Arkane Aleworks is a great addition in Largo. One would not expect them to be located in a shopping center, but do not be fooled. Arkane provides great beers and an awesome atmosphere. The music and the vibe were flawless. I felt everyone (both bartender, brew master and other customers alike) were super friendly and chill. They are truly for everyone, even providing a huge projection t.v. playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They have a very visible chalk board menu (see pics) of their beers, divided by beer type. I very much enjoyed their milk stout, "Udder Devastation". It was so creamy and delicious. I also had a pint of their, "Intrepid IPA", hoppy and refreshing. I cannot emphasize enough how well the guys at Arkane are doing Craft Beer. This place is a must visit. read more

Arkane is a friendly place with a good selection of beer, all of which are brewed on site. I believe these folks 'apprenticed' under Greg Rapp and have learned well. They have a good variety, especially for being so new. Their menu board is very well done. The beers are listed by broad category (Malty, Hoppy, Sour, etc.) with short descriptions of each beer. There's plenty of seating inside and out. I also love that open early on weekends. It so easy to get a growler fill on my way to meet up with friends. Also, they do discounts on growlers fills. $17 to fill my 1/2 gallon vessel rather than 4 x $5. Lastly, they are showcasing local artists' work. I recognized Jay Titus' work right away and understand that many more are going up soon. In summary, I am happy with the place and expect to see great things here. read more

After a hearing some recommendations and trying out some I've learned that the 'Irish Wristwatch' was more to my liking. The place is kid friendly but didn't serve any food?! This is my favorite brewery in Tampa Bay. They have the best sour beers, hands down. And I am never disappointed by their IPAs or stouts. The staff is friendly. The service is good. There are crowlers for to-go beers, with specials on Tuesdays. They have a frequent buyer card, called an AA membership, that entitles you to special rewards including swag and members only parties. I love going there for NYE. It's a chill environment to ring in the New Year. I really can't stress how good the sours are though. Friends I've taken that don't like sours find one or two they like here. It's that good. It'll make anyone a believer. read more

I have to say, I had heard really great things about this brewery and was pretty excited to go. The space is nice, big tables, a great outside area with games and a stage for live music. You can see the drums and kegs for brewing and the art on the walls were very Florida and very cool. I love the vibe and the logo, and they really seem to love wearing a little bit of weirdness on their sleeve which is awesome...behind the counter next to their stack of potato chips was a can of 'unicorn meat' and other such quirky props. It seemed like they had a focus on Gose/Sour ales (not sure if this is a seasonal thing or what), which is unique...in my experience it's rare for a brewery to have more than the bare minimum of those styles and they had some really intriguing and tasty sounding options (punny and clever names are always a surefire way to win this girl's heart). However, it seemed like they were out of EVERYTHING. I almost feel as though I can't really even give this place a rating simply because I couldn't try almost any of their product. The two beers that we had there were good, but seeing what seemed like a hundred interesting options and not being able to try a single one was a pretty big let down to be honest. Another note, the micro/craft brewery scene tends to be pretty close knit in my experience...craft breweries tend to support and help each other rather than competing or bad mouthing. Which is nice, ya know? Well, we noticed that Arkane had done a collaboration with Cycle brewing and had written in that (those guys are dicks)....hopefully it's an inside joke? It kind of seemed in poor taste to me..even if it's true and those guys ARE dicks, it doesn't make me think better of you for calling them out in such a childish way...definitely might affect the willingness of other brewers to collaborate in the future too. And as I said, it just seemed out of place with the usual friendly atmosphere that I've witnessed between breweries, which, in conjunction with the rest of the experience, left a bad taste in my mouth. (Like I said, it might be a joke or something but I don't know and had to take it at face value). I'll definitely try and get back there before I move so that I can try some more beers and hopefully update this review to reflect more fully the true worth of this brewery, but for now I remain disappointed. read more

Arkane was a recent find and a great surprise. Located in an almost empty grocery strip center in a spot that you would never expect a craft beer brewery. With about 25 beers brewed onsite they lean toward sours (which I love). They have the "second best here ever" but I think it may be THE BEST hefeweizen I've had. They are generous with samples and the staff is happy to make recommendations. They rotate food trucks every evening to keep the selections fresh. Miles was my go to server tonight and was an absolute delight. Arkane is a must try for any craft beer lover. read more

Stopped by tonight for the first time. We had their light and dark sours. They were both very well crafted and delicious. I can't believe I don't remember their names. The staff was very friendly and appeared happy to chat about the brews. The area where this labor of love comes to life is attached to the taproom, separated only by some old aging barrels. The walls of the seating area are full of local art work, which adds a nice touch to an already comfortable taproom. I am already looking forward to the next visit to sample some more of their liquid art. read more

Good beer and good service mostly. Can be a little tough to get a beer during busy times but that's to be expected I guess. The selection tends to be heavy on the sours which I don't care for but the hoppy beers are very good. They have food trucks pull up out back and they are usually pretty good. I love the atmosphere and the music. The beer is a whole lot better than the Raven across the street IMO. They should BREW MORE IPA! It is the most popular style of beer currently but they usually only have two or three to choose from. read more

This place is as good as it gets for me! I enjoy stouts/porters with lots of flavor and my boyfriend enjoys sours. If that's your combo, you CANNOT beat Arkane. We discovered this place after several recommendations from locals and it is in the Gulp Coast passport and the Tampa Bay Ale Trail. My boyfriend and I love Gimme Swelter and Deep Knee Bends - you gotta try them because it's hard to explain the flavor profile, like nothing I've ever tasted. Every week they do special releases, crowler deals, and fun events. This last weekend (and next) they are doing special releases of Halloween candy beers (think Warheads, Snickers, Mounds, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids) and my boyfriend and I went two nights in a row to try the different ones (yes, we tried ALL of them and it was worth it). They also offered a haunted house and a food truck on site (I cannot wait to go back next weekend to try the new offerings). The staff is friendly, super helpful, and knowledgeable. Even though they were swamped for the event, they still took time to help everyone and I never waited long for a beer. The space is in a strip mall but don't let this fool you, they have plenty of seating inside and some tables outside on the sidewalk.
