Backstory: We bought exterior screens for our home through another nice man with this company (Arizona Sun Screen) and they didn't fit quite right. Note: we have really difficult window frames, very shallow lip to hold a screen, so I don't fault the gentleman on the first order. I did, however, have a small gap in about half of the screens. I called back asking for help. Mike responded and came out to view the screens within 24 hours. He replaced every single window screen with a thicker metal frame, which made all of the difference. Tighter screen fit on the windows and no gaps!!!! I don't know of another company who would do this for us. I sleep well knowing no bugs or creepy crawlies will gain entry into our home!!!! read more

We are new to Phoenix and family and neighbors said, "sun screens are a must". I am a DIY'er so we stopped by to see what they had to offer. They showed us their products and we gave them rough sizes of our windows. We got a price for materials and a price if they made the screens with the understanding that they would come out for accurate measurements. We went home and did some figuring for materials and went back the next day to purchase and take it home in the same trip. Overall the price was about the same as if I purchased from Home Depot, but the frame material is bigger and sturdier with metal corners instead of plastic. I was able to buy screen by the foot rather than a longer roll than i needed. They sell screen in 3,4, and 5ft widths so i had no waste. Mounting was simple with their clips, just figure that in when you measure. read more

First off a disclaimer, "I am often a DIY person". I took my worn screens in, I had some new one's made, and installed myself. I removed, measured, and installed all screens. The price was great, the quality was great, and the turn around was great. I am very happy with the results. I can't remember who it was who said "A screen, is a screen, is a screen". Come to think of it maybe this was said about roses, I can not recall at this time. When I redid my screens I took a few of them and tried a few places. One place took ten days and I had to go to an ATM to get cash because they could not close out my order with a charge card (not the fault of the people who work there but their system). The screens were done well, but I found that the headache was more then I cared for. I originally came across Arizona Sun Screen buy attending a Home and Garden show. I told them I was interested at the show, got their business details, and called them twice. I never received a call back for some reason. A year later I decided since, I had a one story home, I would go the DIY route. I went to other places besides Arizona Sun Screen to test the waters. Each screen episode resulted in me feeling I had over paid, and that the turn around time was measured in weeks not days. Reluctantly I visited Arizona Sun Screen with my broken down screens. The result is that I felt the price was fair, turnaround time was great, and the end product was very nice. I saved some serious money and now have nice new screens on my home. Great job. But talk to Bill. The office staff and another salesperson (D) were unfriendly and not very helpful. I worked with Bill reviewing the quote, ordering the sun screens, and the installation. He was great. I had a small issue with our homeowners assn and tried calling the company, and they wanted to charge me more because of their mess up. But when I called Bill up, bam, it was taken care of, no problem. We a small problem with one and he came right back and fixed it. The final product was great. Very happy with the shades. Great product decent price - my install not so smooth. Set up a day but stated emphatically the time I had to leave and was told no problem. Day of install got a call he was running late for his 12-1 time. Said he could be here before 1:30 I then informed him I had to leave at 3:30 he said he was not sure he could finish because he was not given the correct install info on my screen door. When I asked if I could leave he said no. I was in the process of cancelling and changing my day and he showed up at 1:50. When I called the office to complain I was put on hold and they called him. Got back on the line and lo and behold I could leave after the screen door install on the patio. He managed to shove my invoice in my front door and of course full balance due - no reduction for all my frustration. Oh well maybe there will not be a referral from this house. You got three stars for the product only! And after I mailed you a check - with the invoice stuffed in my front door - you debit my credit card without permission! I purchased a retractable screen and the quality of this isn't worth purchasing. I had the entire retraction and screen replaced and 7 months later, the bottom of the screen came out of the retraction. They wanted to charge me about $200 when it was less than a year old. I called several times to get someone to look and replace my screen and I got the same answer that someone would be calling me. It took 3 WEEKS later for someone to finally come out. I ended up having them remove and trash my retractable screen due to the poor quality. Being charged even though it was less than a year old and their horrible, unreliable customer service! I would not recommend buying from them. read more

I have dealt with these guys for three times now (all during the pandemic) and highly recommend them. The first (summer '20) was related to adding sunscreens on a couple of windows (3) because we had artificial turf installed. The windows would have caused reflections that would burn the new lawn, so sunscreens prevent that. Del came out, took measurements, allowed us to select efficiency (we chose 80%) and colors, then told us they would call in a few weeks to install them. He came back within a week and did the install! The three screens took him less than 30 minutes. The second time (early '21) was related to replacing all of the window screens (the ones without new sunscreens). I removed all of the screens (14) put them in the back of the car and headed to their shop. I took a couple inside for evaluation/pricing and the woman there said they would have to replace the metal frames as well as the screening because the frames are held together internally with plastic connectors and they tend to break during disassembly. I was braced for a big bill but was PLEASANTLY surprised when the estimate was only slightly more than having just the screening replaced. They said their tech was out of town and wouldn't be getting back to taking care of them until Friday of that week (this was Monday morning). I was in no hurry so I left them. I unloaded all of them and left them at the shop after giving a down payment of half the cost. Thursday morning(!) I got a call saying they were done and ready to be picked up! They were all packaged together nicely in plastic wrap and they ALL FIT! YAY! The third time (spring '21) was in relation to sun screens again. I just had trees on the west side cut way back and the sun was now beating down on two of the windows on that side. They came out the next day (Del again!) and took measurements for those two (for 90% efficiency, because of the direct sun during the hottest part of the day) and one more on the north side (for 80% efficiency) I was waffling about. Del said he wouldn't take a down payment this time, I could pay for everything when they came out to install them. That would give me a chance to figure out if I wanted the other window done too - I could just let them know if I wanted it done when they called to make the appointment for installation. He said they were backed up and would be three or four weeks before they were back out for the install. ONE WEEK later they called to come out the NEXT morning for the installation. When I asked to add the other window onto the order they said they could get it done in time(!!). They came out, did the installation on all three windows and was gone in less than 30 minutes. Again. Interesting company. Nice on the initial call....then downhill from that piont on. Was informed my estimate would be a week out. When I called back to ask for a sooner visit, I was called back at 6 am and was TOLD, there is only enough sunlight in a day and if I called back it would be 2 weeks for an estimate and that I should call another company to fit my time frame. So...I called the main number and was treated even worse. She said, we are busy and please go elsewhere. Ok... I will definitely go elsewhere and inform everyone to go elsewhere also. Paid 50% and waited 1.5 weeks before I HAD TO CALL to see what the status was...they were done but never called tell me..now let's see how long it takes before they finish the job. They returned to install what appears to be the same screens that didn't fit. Only 5 of 21 screens fit properly. When I pointed it out to Dell, he became offensive and condescending, to the point where I had to tell at him to just fix the screens. They ended up adding some type of gasket to keep bugs from coming in. If I hadn't pointed it out, they would have installed screens that didn't fit. Some had at least a 1/2 inch gap. Take your business elsewhere. These people are horrible. read more

I chose this business after getting an estimate from only one other business. I chose Arizona Sun Screen because Mike was very fast and intelligent and produced an estimate that was lower than the other. Mike was a really nice, smart man and did a beautiful job installing them in a way that is flush with the frame so that the exterior stucco walls remain one flat surface with the screens in place. I purchased sunscreens last year for my entire home and was completely impressed with the service and product. As a result, I recently returned to buy a custom patio screen door for my home and a few sunscreens for my in-laws nearby vacation home. Mike came out to measure and the product was installed about three weeks later by another employee. The sunscreens looked great as usual, but my almost $300 custom patio screen door was horrific. I have attached a few photos to show the offset (nearly an inch difference from top to bottom) and the handle which protruded and would not allow for complete opening. I spoke with Mike via telephone and he wasn't too concerned about the issues. After spending $1500 with the company and providing referrals, I figured the service would have been better. Even the receptionist I originally sent the photos to said it was unacceptable work. Mike then voiced he was the "owner" and would "buy back" the door if necessary. He responded back to my home, merely flipped the handle around, and adjusted the rollers slightly to mitigate a portion of the offset. I voiced that I still wasn't happy and inquired why a custom door wouldn't fit properly. Mike said that custom means it was built to fit the standard measurements of the door. I told Mike that was the definition of a standard door which I could get from Home Depot for cheaper and with a better fit, like my previous door. Mike never offered to "buy back" the door as previously indicated nor did he resolve the problems. He ultimately just left with my money (already paid in full). I assumed he would give me a discount, but nothing. In my mind, the product and install cost the company about $80, so a $50 discount as a mere act of customer service would still net his company at least a $150 profit. Now he has lost a customer and future referrals. I am by no means unethical or vindictive which is why I praise the sunscreen portion of his business, but I urge potential customers to stay away from other aspects which he has not yet mastered. read more

Just had my sunscreens installed and they look great. Being a new home owner, I relied heavily on Mike's honesty and experienced on picking out the perfect screens.
