There are not enough stars to show how truly amazing this company is! After being in my new house for only a few short days, the pool pump broke. The pool was already green because the previous tenants had let the pool go when the house went up for sale. I called Chris at AZ pool guy, very distraught on a Thursday evening, after finding out the home warranty company wasn't going to cover the pump due to 'improper install' of the pipes. Chris had been HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to me by two people. Not only was the price of the new pump substantially less than other places, his crew came over the very next day to install it, drained the pool over the weekend, and had me back up and swimming by Sunday evening. One of the crew members even helped me trim the tree that was shedding into the pool! Chris came over personally to teach me how to use the new pump and educate me about caring for it since this is my first pool. Arizona Pool Guy was hands down the best service I have ever experienced! They really went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of in a very timely fashion. I will not hesitate to use them again should I have other issues! Don't go to anyone else....you will not be disappointed. read more

Arizona Pool Guy - Pool Cleaners Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

I cannot deal with the lack of communication. This is the worst experience I have ever had working with a business. I fired them and later got an invoice of an outstanding balance of $1,200 from services from months ago that they failed to charge me for in the moment and then charged us on the complete wrong card, even though we said we wanted to use a different card. $165 a month for work poorly done. During monsoon season they said they could not reach my backwash to backwash the pool, I had to do it myself and was still charged and even though it was full to the brim with leaves and could have damaged my vacuum for running when it needed to be backwashed and emptied. The excuse was that irrigation was too deep, our pool cleaner literally needs to walk through water when they backwash our backyard anyways and had been doing so for months. The second excuse was they didn't want to get mud in their car, again he needs to walk through muddy water when he backwashes to get back to the pool. It's such a scam, do not recommend using this company. read more

Amazing quote the company completed my pool in just under 2 weeks they were very respectful of my property they showed up when they said every single step was done on time and with great care I can not say enough good things about this company they did what they said 2 weeks under the original time frame stayed on budget and they were so kind to work with read more

Arizona Pool Guy installed a pool heater in our home and has worked with us to ensure the unit functions properly.

Dealt with the salesman (Bud) at the time of the estimate and contract and then he disappeared. No follow up and he did not return repeated phone calls. After claiming they had AZ Pool Guy crews to do the work, we learned this was a misrepresentation. They sub the work to other contractors. The day the project was to start the crew showed up and had No idea of the project scope or details. We'd been assured they would have a diagram and photos. We spent time managing the project start to finish with the sub. They did a good job and their company was thorough and got the pool decking done in spite of the complete fail by Arizona Pool Guy. Slick sale and then total lack of communication. read more

The work they did was fine, but they didn't communicate with us and just showed up and expected us to be home and available. Also, everyone we dealt with at this company was rude and not very helpful. read more

Presidential Pools, a new pool builder, referred us to Arizona Pool Guy. They refer the company for remodels exclusively. We contracted in April 2021. Now late November, the pool is still not done. We recently spurred some activity by filing a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors but now Arizona Pool Guy is trying to extort thousands of dollars more than our contracted amount out of us by saying pool related items, like scuppers were not included, and suggesting they will not continue to completion without payment. Poor communication, horrible project management, and no work being completed for months on end... I would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

EXCELLENT! Best Price! Best Quality! HIGHLY Recommended! Arizona Pool Guy remodeled our large in ground pool. Jesper was amazing to work with. All their crews were excellent, polite and professional! Thank you Jesper and Arizona Pool Guy! read more

Our requests to have the warranty repairs seem to have fallen on deaf ears. We met shortly before your vacation to the Bahamas. Nothing has be done .... We have been more than patient with your busy schedule. It's been years since the pool was refurbished. Representatives from your company, including you, have assured us the repairs would be made, nothing to date. Issues were brought to your employees attention days after the pool was refurbished and concrete replaced. Phone calls to your company's voicemail go unanswered, emails as well. At this point we probably have no legal recourse. However, we will be forwarding all emails to our attorney. One would assume as a business owner you would like referrals and positive reviews online. Very bad experience with Arizona Pool Guy. We have a detailed list of issues, I will just name a few (seriously, this is just a few). This review is for a pool remodel we had done. Not sure how they do with a simple task of cleaning pools. We do agree that the original sales guy and original project manager named Jesper was the only bright spot with the company. Once Kevin came into the picture, their attempts to rectify the issues were horrible. Our pool was a large job, AZ Pool Guy was not the cheapest, but we believed they would do a good job. Our huge mistake. SCHEDULE - DID NOT COMPLETE ONTIME. Missed many scheduled appointments for the originally scheduled work with lots of excuses. None were weather related. Pool did not get completed (the first time) until 6-8 weeks after the contractually agreed to date. I'd argue that the work is still not completed. One of several examples of Kevin's scheduling of work: (this only happened under Kevin's "leadership") - A service worker was supposed to come out and clean the filters because when they chipped out the pool the second time, they made a huge mess with blue pebble scattered all over my back yard and in the pool piping. The worker was supposed to show up during the day. He did not come, for whatever reason, and Kevin told me he would come the next day. Turns out, he broke into my back yard when it was totally dark and did not notify my wife or I. We thought there was a burglar in our back yard and the situation almost turned really bad. POOR QUALITY: The first pebble finish was full of chips, holes, and chucks missing in at least 20 locations. Jesper tried to handle the situation by having the pebble completely redone. They left chunks of pebble all over back yard. I am still finding pieces. The decking guy was very nice and I believe he wanted to do a good job. It started with him not getting the color correct. Saltillo tile is not totally bright red. OK, so he fixed that, but then it started to crack all over. He came and attempted to fix the cracks at least 5-8 different times. Once he finished the cracks, he then couldn't match the color. It was a very long process (more than a year). We had to give up because it is now cracking again. This little paragraph does not come close to the amount of visits, missed appointments and poor quality we received. The decking guy used a pick/hammer tool to move the dirt from the edges of the decking in order to put the finish on. In doing so, he broke the piping to the aerators. This issue was not identified by AZ Pool Guy, I discovered this when they claimed to be all done and then I realized the aerators were not working. Also not working were the spa jets. Once they fixed the piping (they originally blamed my landscapers for breaking the pipes) they still wouldn't work because it was clogged with pebble material. The spa jets were also plugged with pebble. I ended up cleaning them out with a green wire they left me. They originally did not leave a way for me to drain the pool as was agreed to. They did come back after I pointed it out. Pool/spa heater. I recently had a leaking gas meter and had to call out SW Gas. SW gas noticed that the gas line from the meter to the pool was very old and they recommended it be replaced. In addition, turns out I had a 250K BTU meter and they had installed a 400K BTU heater. The gas company upgraded the meter at no charge. WHY WOULD AZ POOL GUY NOT HAVE DONE THAT? Plastic drain (separating pool decking from rest of patio) ended up shrinking and had to be replaced. Expansion joints have all faded to white and stained from decking guy. The autofill did not work originally, they had to come out and replace. Plastic fittings in general....are all different colors of gray or not gray at all. Most of which have faded in less than a year. When they were done (the first time) they left masking tape and tape residue all over the water line tiles. Instead of them making it right, they recommended I get a special cleaning product to clean up after them. A lot of the tape residue is still there. The pebble under a table in the pool was left with razor sharp edges and chunks that cut my daughter and myself. And finally,....they did chip (jack hammer) out the pool as I've alluded to because it was the wrong color and full of holes/large chips throughout the finish. Kevin claims this is to be the expected quality of AZ Pool Guys. Kevin's words in response to the latest 3-4 inch long gaping hole in the finish, "Hello, The mini pebble is a hand trowel product that has many imperfections if you look at it through a magnifying glass. Your mini pebble meets all industry standards. If you would like a representative from son escapes to come out and look at the pool to verify this, please call Ozzie Quijada at (#) come out and verify. Thanks." The number provided for Ozzie did not work and the issue is still there. read more

Horrible customer service. Needed a quote to get a cracked water feature (grotto) in my Presidential built pool repaired. Filled out the request on their website - no response. Called and actually talked with a person and asked for the same work request- nobody called back. Tried again a week later and reached a second person on the phone and explained my attempts at getting some service. Person on the line apologized and said a sales rep would get back to you soon - no response. read more

I've had Arizona Pool Guy maintain my pool for years. They do a great job. They do more than just pool maintenance too: I had them install artificial grass in my backyard and resurface my cool deck. I will hire them to do any additional yard remodeling in the future. read more

I just gave my pool a "face lift" by replacing the waterline tile and adding stacking ledge stone to enhance the appearance of the pool. I am happy with the quality of the work performed and the fact it was done ahead of schedule. I got 3 bids for the project and Arizona Pool Guy was right in line with the other bids so I believe I was charged a fair price. Ben and his crew were very helpful and I would absolutely refer others to use their services. read more

I interviewed a lot of pool contractors for my pool rehab project. Many have fancy printouts & software that sends you constant annoying notifications. I first chose a company with slick brochures & wound up in an uncomfortable bait-&-switch situation. I bailed & then chose APG, & I'm very happy I got to work with them. APG's proposal wasn't a fancy computer printout, but when I reviewed it, it was much more thorough, informative & reasonable than the other proposals. The construction work went great. The crew kept the site very tidy & were respectful of my things & landscaping. Best of all, the supervisor gave me daily text updates & was willing to discuss issues even late in the evening when I finally got home. Just the effort to communicate alone is as important as it is rare for contractors. There were a few minor dropped balls, but nothing disastrous & we worked through them easily and quickly. There was also a misunderstanding about the payment schedule, but APG was very reasonable about it. We parted on good terms with me a very happy customer. read more
