Not only do we go to them during the holidays but rely on them throughout the year when we need additional plants and trees for our backyard. We first started using Whitfill back in the early 2000's when they were on 40th street south of Roeser. We literally lived across the street from their nursery and when they moved to their current spot on Southern we followed! We have decades of photos with our boys standing next to the tree they choose for Christmas and the tradition continues now with our Sphynx cats! They used to have a peacock walking around but unfortunately he is no longer there. They are pet friendly and we are comfortable taking our cats there in the stroller. Not only are their prices and tree selections the best in town but their customer service and knowledge of anything tree related is vast! They know what they are doing and don't try to upsell or get you to buy unnecessary items. They are the real deal!

The other Whitfill location (off Guadalupe and Cooper) doesn't have this issue. Overall I think the plants are pretty healthy but after having an issue with lack of labeling (on both the kind of plant and pricing), having been given the wrong plant info on a plant, and after having asked if they had Pink Fairy Duster and being sent off in a direction to wander and never find it on my own, I'm really over this location.

The staff immediately greets you with a warm welcome, and the entrance is so beautiful. Fillmore Coffee Co. is sighted as soon as you enter and there's some cute seating options. It's open until 3 pm and they have breakfast, lunch, and drinks. There are so many gorgeous plants to choose from. Staff is so helpful and eager to educate you on what would be best for your home. I ended up bringing more than one plant home and I can proudly say they've been blooming ever since. I appreciate the advice they gave me on taking care of my babies and I want to go back for more. Their plants are pricier than you'd find elsewhere but it was a great birthday experience for me.

We picked up a beautiful artichoke agave, and the person who helped us was great. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain how best to plant and care for it. You can tell the staff here genuinely knows their stuff and enjoys what they do. The selection of planters and pots was also impressive. There is a massive area filled with every size, shape, and style you could imagine. It makes it easy to find something that fits your space and aesthetic. Moon Valley did not sell and plant healthy yellow bells 2 years ago in my front yard. They have on…read more2 occasions replace some of the yellow bells. They are still ugly and look sick and have little growth in 2 years. They are watered and fertilized on a schedule and receive moon juice too. Nothing works to help them. The rose bushes I removed to make room for the yellow bells 2 years ago are starting to emerge under moon valley "inferior yellow bells" and look healthy. Additional we did some troubleshooting on a Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides) that is struggling right now. This shop is so cozy, diverse in stock, and full of plant accessories. Ended up with two plants, six (6) terra cotta water drains. They also have fertilizer and soil. Will be back for more plants and supplies. Cactus Doctor sold us 5 beautiful saguaros and they planted all the other day so professionally…read morearound my house. As you can imagine, handling cactus is very challenging. Their team was extremely professional and handled all of our cacti with care. There was one that was especially challenging as it was very tall with several arms and much to my surprise everything was anted perfectly with no broken arms. My cactus grouping had extreme heat symptoms, and I wanted to have the purple rot investigated and removed without harming the plant. I also wanted to have new plant supports installed. This company couldn't bother to "hit reply" to my emails. I wouldn't waste my time with contacting them. Ghosting is an appropriate term to describe my frustrations.
