Stopped in yesterday in the middle of a wine tasting extravaganza in Murphys. It was very busy when we popped in around 2 PM, but the staff were friendly and helpful despite how overloaded they seemed to be. I ordered a raspberry croissant and a carrot cake to go. They were decent - nothing to write home about, but hit the spot. They were both very sweet, and I've got a pretty intense sweet tooth, so be warned. My husband got a latte that he raved about. Unfortunately since we came later in the day they were out of the items I really wanted, but I would come back again for drinks & to try more baked goods. read more

A friend and I rolled into town early one Sunday morning. We were early for a meeting and hoped that something was open for us to kill a little time. We found Aria's open door and stepped in. The tiny store was jam packed with beautiful and delicious smelling baked goods. We couldn't resist but tried a couple of their savory crossants with some coffee. What a treat. The spinach ricotta and ham/cheese were both delicious. And the lattes had nicely crafted foam. We enjoyed our breakfasts watching the steady stream of people stopping by to pick up treats for Sunday morning. We are ever so glad that they were open early and to have enjoyed this charming little shop. read more

Giving it the final star, because everything we tried was perfection. Perfect multigrain bread (wonderful texture, sourdough-like flavor), still warm from the oven. We had some for breakfast with fresh butter. Doesn't get better than that. My son had his usual everything bagel. Both sides covered with stuff. Wonderful flavor and texture (we had to fight him to try a bite). We remembered the apple/berry strudel from last time and ordered it again. Just as good as we remembered. Coffee is the equal to Blue Bottle. Fantastic! read more

Went up to Murphys for a girls trip and glad we stopped by this little coffee shop. The coffee was great and we didn't have to wait too long before getting our coffee after ordering. Ordered the strudel from the case in front. The apples were hard and tart the berries were tart and just tasted awful. The crust was good by itself, but in the trash it went. Really bummed because we took it home for dessert. They also packed it in a cardboard container that was 10x's too big, what a waste of materials. Ordered a regular cold brew and a cold brew with an add shot. My regular cold brew tasted fermented. Had a weird slightly aftertaste. Maybe it wasn't fresh cold brew. Mine was very strong and my fiancé's had a little bit of a smoother taste because it had a couple add shots to mask the plain cold brew flavor. Bear claw was good. A little too crunchy for my taste. Overall, ok place. Probably won't come back. Customer service was ok from our young barista. The manager I'm assuming, was nice greeted us and let us know we would be helped soon. read more

Stopped here this morning before heading home to Sacramento! A cute little bakery in a cute little town. I tried the pumpkin hermit and it was delightful. This place has so many fresh pastries- I literally wanted to try everything there! Looks like they have a lunch menu too- sandwiches and such. Hopefully I can try one if I get the chance to go back. I had to grab a cinnamon roll and a scone while I was there because they were sitting in the case staring at me. Nearly ruined my breakfast but it was worth it because they were awesome. This cafe is amazing! Best spot in Murphy's by far. I ordered a chai latte which was fabulous. Also we got the quiche which was heavenly. The soup was awesome too, and we're coming back for their sandwiches also. The baked items are so fresh and decadent. Seriously this place is the best!!! Highly recommend. Do not pass up this spot! What has happened to Aria Bakery. What used to be a wonderful place for breads, cookies, pastries, etc. is no longer. The last time I bought scones in there was the last time I bought scones in there. They were hard (I was assured they were made that morning) and tasteless. A few weeks later I bought some croissants. They were greasy and almost stale. Yesterday I bought a loaf of cinnamon bread. Again, it didn't seem fresh, it was doughy and flavorless. I don't know what has happened but as a local I think I'm done buying their products. Too bad because it used to be so good and everything was delicious. Not any more. read more

We went here over Labor Day weekend for some quick bites and iced coffees. First of all, the ladies who work here provide top notch customer service. They even gave me waters for the additional people in my party and opened the door for me as I was leaving with my hands full. We ordered the blondie, a chocolate chip cookie, and some slow brewed iced americanos. The coffee and pastries here are so good and the staff even take it up a notch. I really would like to give this place more stars than it deserves but not until they make a major change... How would you like to buy a cobbler that have been landed on by flies??? ME think not! I was so excited to walk in to this place last Wednesday. It was a beautiful day outside and was cool enough to have a nice hot cup of coffee with some pastries. The goodies in the glass encased cabinet thingy looked great. As I looked on the top left of the counter where the cobbler and other goodies where stationed I saw several flies hopping along from treat to treat...I was immediately turned off!!! As nice as the lady behind the counter was, I couldn't stomach buying and eating what they're selling. I wasn't sure if I should say something...I opted on a scone that was inside the encased glass shelf. How could you not see the flies flying inside your bakery? There were a couple of folded up plastic thing to shield the baked goods but it wasn't enough to completely cover them and protect them from those nasty, poop landing FLIES! Owners: Please do something about this...you are potentially harming your costumers in consuming baked goods contaminated by flies. read more

Morning of our snow adventure in Big Trees we stopped here. What a great bakery!! Friendly and super busy!! I ordered the Spinach & Ricotta Croissant - I want more!! Super yummy and the filling was just perfect! A lot of filling by the way which was complemented with the butter flaky croissant. Oh so yummy, I need to go back soon!! Hubby got the Ham & Swiss croissant. He said it was really good - probably the best he's had. More Ham than you'd ever seen in a croissant. While visiting with family in Angel's Camp we drove to Murphy's downtown district for some site-seeing. Cute little town with many shops and wineries displaying (and tasting) their goods. Whenever I go to smaller towns I never expect anything all that great from out of the way local bakeries. It was last Saturday, mid-morning and I was starting to get a little peckish. I walked by a woman and her husband having a ham and cheese croissant at one of the sidewalk tables. I mentioned that her croissant looked yummy. She extolled its greatness and mentioned I should take a look inside. They were busy with other customers but the friendly counter staff quickly greeted me and allowed me time to decide on what to try. I took a gamble and ordered two boxes of goodies for the family to share. I ordered a variety of blueberry and pumpkin-cranberry muffins, potato focaccia, and ham-Swiss cheese croissants. Needless to say from the amount of stars of this review, you can guess what we thought of their products. The muffins both had a nice crumble topping. Neither was overly sweet. The blueberry muffin was crammed full of its namesake with a perfect amount of cinnamon. The pumpkin was chock full of cranberries, nuts and pumpkin seeds with a nice finish of ginger and spices. The focaccia had piles of perfectly cooked potatoes and caramelized onions with spices atop the moist bread. Their ham-Swiss croissant is something they should serve at the pearly gates because they were heavenly. Clearly all of these goods were made from scratch! I thanked the baker in the kitchen and thought I would get waved off because it was hot (90's outside) and she was clearly busy. Instead I received a heartfelt thank you. Thank YOU, Aria, for a wonderful surprise in the an out of town, and out of this world experience. I'm looking forward to try your delectable looking salads and sandwiches on the next trip from San Francisco to Stanislaus County. read more

Woohoo! My first "First to Review"! The Bakery is centrally located right on Main St., pretty much directly across the street from the Murphys Historic Inn. Anyway, this is a fantastic little coffee shop/bakery. They have a wide variety of all the usual coffee/tea type drinks, and even some Italian Sodas. The real star winners here, though, are all the home made baked goodies. Everything from "chicken apple sausage and white cheddar biscuits" to cinnamon buns to ham and cheese croissants. All made fresh daily. Plus, they open at 6am every day, so you can grab something bright and early before hitting the road to go hiking in the nearby parks (Big Tree Park is about 20 minutes away), or you can just mosey over late morning before a rough day of wine tasting. Walking 2 blocks and stopping for wine every 10 feet can be hard work! read more

They have a little to-go window during Covid times, which is a plus! I ordered a iced chai tea latte with an almond croissant, which I highly recommend as it was extremely delicious! My boyfriend ordered a breve and a pumpkin (thing, scone maybe? I forgot) but it was also incredibly scrumptious, now we know why most things were sold out before we got there!
