I only needed to purchase a small item that took less than 5 minutes he told me I had to leave the store, and come back without the dog. No people with disabilities are allowed in his store. California state law MATCHES the ADA California has even stronger protections: * Civil Code § 54.1 and § 54.2 protect service dogs in all public places. * Denying access can result in fines and penalties for the business. The "health department doesn't allow dogs" excuse is illegal and a very common wrong excuse used by untrained employees. read more

All they have in the market that is Argentine is Yerba mate, chimi churri, and a very few select items like dulce de leche and membrillo. Very good preparada meat in town. Right now in Pasadena the price ranges from 899 to 1099 for flap meat. I wish it was skirt. Yes big grocery stores have it for cheaper. But when it comes to taste this is the best. The only thing that o have been noticing in regard to their short ribs they make them Very thin. I asked the butcher last time. He said well people want to see more meat for their buck. So he told me next time that I need thicker cuts of short ribs I need to let them Know in advance so when they cut them they make my order before the cut the rest. And that is true. read more

So where do i get authentic dulce de leche on such short notice...I thought AHA the market on Villa I was in a hurry and new that this market was close to the freeway and i could be in and out in no time. While it is very obvious this place serves the local community (ghettoish) so you will find a MINI carniceria and other regular everyday products. HEED this...this place is SOOOOO dirty...HOt and clustered. well everything went well until my father had reminded me (as he was eating one of my delectables purchased there) that i should always pay attention to the EXP dates, becuase he has purchased items there that have expired. I grew up in Pasadena. I remember my family would visit this place a lot in the mid to late 90s. We would order burritos then head to McDonald Park about 3 blocks away to devour them. Bout two weeks ago, I went shopping with my mom and pops. We were about to drive up to Carl's Jr on Lake to stuff our faces with some burgers. Then I blurted out that I was craving an Argentina burrito. We made a quick right and headed there immediately. Would they still make burritos? Oh I was pleasantly surprised to find that they did. I'm not gonna say that this place is super clean cause like, well, that would be lying. It's ghetto. It's dirty. It's crammed with all sorts of goodies. But seriously, I don't think it would be the same experience if the place were squeaky clean. Cause that's what happens when you walk into Argentina. It's an experience. I walked in there today and I was smacked in the face with culture. There was a cubana ordering chuletas de puerco. There was a young looking woman ordering carne asada. There was a grandma doing her grocery shopping. There was a white guy hitting up the beer section. & there was the owner greeting people. I headed to the hot food section and ordered 3 burritos de chicharrón and 1 burrito de asada. I walked around and saw stuff I would never find at a Ralphs. Don't come in here expecting a display with freaking recommendations here. There will be no 'organic' 'vegan' yadda yadda. I walked around and got 2 pounds of cecina. Ralphs won't even know what that is. I headed home with my purchases. The fat burrito had the right amount of rice, the right amount of beans and the chicharrón? Delicious and spicy. I love this place been coming here since a kid and remember the oddly thin but delicious pieces of pollo de milanesa preparada being just as juicy back then as it is now. They literally have the best chicken and Carne Asada in the Pasadena area to me. read more

When I was a young girl my Grandma lived a couple blocks away on Holliston, I recall taking hand written notes from my Grandma to the market for her cigarettes. My Grandma always gave me extra money to buy myself something. The market had many sodas, candies and novelties to buy but nothing made me happier than their Pork Tacos! I always took some home for Grandma and I. I recall one of the women behind the counter, with a warm smile and her white hair always pulled back in a beautiful bun. She made me the most heavenly tacos, my mouth salivates to this day thinking of them. I would walk in, survey the entire store looking for something to buy and always stopped at the counter and she knew, 4 pork tacos. Today, it is 2013, over 30 years later and I still find myself looking for pork tacos recipes trying to recreate my memory. I am not sure what compelled me to seek the Argentinian Market on Villa Street today, but are thrilled to see your still open inspiring wonderful memories and good times around great food. For almost now 20 years we have been loyal customers of La Argentina. We have tried once and again to find better carne asada in all San Gabriel Valley knowing that the quest will be futile. It is now a tradition of ours to serve freshly grilled carne asada while we camp the night before the Rose Parade. This carne asada is sooooo gooood that has gained me several invitations to parties just because they know I can bring the best carne asada around. Had to pick up carne asada at the last minute for an NFL tailgate. I didn't have time to go to my regular place in Eagle Rock so I gambled and tried this place out. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered 7 pounds of carne asada and they cut it up right there in front of me. I even asked them to marinate it for me and it was done with ease.
