I love their burritos too. Can cut in half or thirds for multiple meals. They provide restaurant or curbside pickup, catering, and home delivery of their delicious food. The catering menu includes food from other cultures, including Italian. Glad they are here in Kingston giving us more options for meals made by local restaurateurs.

Steve got a chicken sandwich that was good. I got a hamburger with kimchi. It was excellent but I forgot the name of the burger. I saw a pork sandwich option on the menu that had kimchi but that wasn't the same thing... so just read the menu carefully if what I had sounds good. There are lots of options to pick from so take your time. We also split an order of French Fries which were great! For our sweet tooth we got an Amaretto Milkshake and it was excellent! We really enjoyed this one! It was non-alcoholic and we got this particular one because this was a flavor one doesn't usually associate with milkshake options. We are so glad that we got to try it! The Grub Hut is very, very popular or at least it was when we were there and there was a small line to place our order, very little room to sit and the wait time to get our food was about 25 minutes. We didn't think that was too bad and we thought it was "johnny on the spot" timing at work to tell us that at the time that the order was placed. And I suppose they have it down to an art and need to give out times like this as this restaurant is right by the ferry terminal and Kingston so I imagine a lot of people who are using the ferry need that kind of information to plan accordingly with their meals and arrival/departure times with the ferry.

This is a LONG overdue review for Casa Luna. We have eaten there several times over the last few…read moreyears. The short review is: great food, friendly service, lovely ambience. Here is the long one: Walking down the passageway between the buildings on this charming stretch of Front Street in Poulsbo, WA leads you to the entrance. If you prefer to dine outside, there is patio seating before you walk through the door. Whether you eat inside or outside, the decor and location feel like you've just walked through a portal to somewhere else: the street traffic just kind of disappears, and you find yourself in a cozy Mexican hideaway. On each of our visits, we've been quickly greeted by a friendly member of the staff or even the owner. (At least, we think she's the owner. We do know that several of the recipes are those of her family.) If she doesn't greet us when we first arrive, we know she'll be around at some point to talk with us. She never seems too busy running the restaurant to check in and make sure we're happy with the food and the service. We always feel appreciated and taken care of, both by the owner and the staff. As for the food, let me first say that my husband and I are originally from San Diego. For most of us who are born and raised there, you just take the abundance of good -- and diverse -- Mexican food for granted. Don't get me wrong, it's not all good, but you can just avoid the bad ones. My rule since early adulthood (based on experience) has been "Don't eat Mexican food north of L.A." This has changed a bit over the years, but I was pretty concerned about what I was going to find when we relocated to the PNW. Broadly speaking, we have been pleasantly surprised. And speaking specifically about Casa Luna, we have been not only surprised but impressed by a couple of menu items that were actually unlike anything we'd ever had before. In particular, the refried beans are amazing. This might seem like a small thing, but pinto beans are a staple of any Mexican restaurant that purports to be something other than a taco shop. It's one of the things we pay attention to in order to assess the attention to detail and care taken in ingredients and preparation. The beans at Casa Luna are delicious and have a special ingredient that I have literally never had in any other pinto beans my entire life living in San Diego and eating Mexican food as often as I can. (The ingredient? It's simple but really makes a difference. I will let you figure it out...) If you accept that the beans are a bellwether of the rest of the menu, then you might assume that there are some other special items on there, and you wouldn't be wrong. We have not had every single thing (yet), but everything we've eaten there has been good to great. Because I've waited too long to remember everything we've ever had, here are some of the highlights: the chile relleno (a personal favorite); quesabirria tacos; chimichanga; salsa (of course! with chips, naturally); house margaritas; rice and beans; flan; fried ice cream. Not one thing disappointed. (If you don't see this as high praise, please refer back to my life story. Just saying.) Bottom line is that if you're looking for a getaway to Mexico for a pleasant night out, friendly service, a delicious plate of food, and a solid house margie but don't want to be gone long or get on a plane, I highly recommend making a visit to Casa Luna. Why would it take 20 minutes to approach you? Take your order? I haven't seen the owner in quite some time. She might want to consider visiting once in a while. I think they had a nice bar manager for a while, but I haven't seen him. And, who I'm assuming is the new chef? Long beard that's held up by a net? ICK. He's ALWAYS outside smoking.
