Ever since my boyfriend and I moved from NYC to Seattle, one of the things we've been yearning to…read moreencounter is hearty Colombian(him)/Ecuadorian(me) food. New York was crawling in delicious Southern American food. So we decided to go on an adventure to Tacoma and visit this establishment, and I'm so glad we did. Upon walking in, the space is decorated in Colombian flags, license plates, banners, and other miscellaneous decor. The tropicana radio station playing in the back made us feel like we were back in Manizales for a brief moment. We were greeted with kindness and curiosity as we exchanged cultural backgrounds. Foods that we ate: - Pandebono (Plain, with no guyaba): One of the many famous breads Colombia has to offer, the flavor was spot on. Savory and cheesy with a nice chew. It was more airy than I was anticipating, so a lot of empty pockets while eating it (it's usually denser), but still delicious nonetheless. If you like a sweet surprise, would recommend getting the pandebono with guyaba inside. - Buñuelo: Another great cheese bread in the shape of a sphere and fried. The inside was super soft and airy as well which is more on brand for this! Although not typically crunchy or hard, the shell did lack a bit of toughness that's normally expected. Again, did not take away from the enjoyable experience otherwise. - Bandeja Paísa: Nearly perfect, we were both so stunned. The chorizo and chicharron were AMAZING. The chicharron had the perfect amount of meat, more crunchy than chewy which is what we preferred. I don't know what blend the chorizo is made out of, but it was packed with flavor. The steak was a little tough but still delicious. Avocado, fried egg, the arepa, all complemented the dish well. I personally don't like maduros, but the one in this dish was not too sweet at all, delicious. The frijoles were also packed with flavor, giving the rice a wonderful flavor to soak up. We definitely need to come back and have their churrasco for sure. If you're Colombian in the Seattle area or are looking to try Colombian food for the first time, this is a must visit!!!

On…read moremy way to Bothell via Lake City Way to Hwy 522, I was able to snag a parking lot close to Seatango (3/27/26). Walking in, it was nice to see the space reconfigured to allow more kitchen and pastry case space. Plus the interior is a lot more warmer with wall color and vibrant art work which is enhanced by the natural light. This makes for a more pleasant dining area. I was kind of overwhelmed with the immense selection and variety in the wrap around pastry case. I'm glad that the counter person was patient with me as I seriously gave consideration since clearly I can't say - one of each please, lol. I ended up exercising restraint and selected two ham and cheese empanadas with chimichurri and two chocolate covered chocolate alfajores with dulce de leche as takeout. The Homie ate one empanada with chimichurri later that day. I ate mine the next day with the remaining chimichurri. We can both attest that the quality has remained despite the near five year hiatus. The alfajores also was delicious, no surprise there. Next visit, I'm going to inquire further about the assortment of pastries in the front pastry case. There was no individual signage displayed during my visit. Again, glad to see another indie business survive post-pandemic and during these challenging economic times.

Moons ago, my friend and I drove across one state to hunt for empanadas --- that's how badly we wanted one. Seattle -- you don't have to work that hard. "LOVE" is real close by! WESTERN WA & BEYOND: Go to LAKE CITY for the most SAVORY & SWEET empanadas!! The empanadas are HUGE but most of all, DELICIOUS! Walk in, take in the glorious aromas! Breathe it in. It's pure joy! We eat with our eyes. I was mesmerized by the baked good display. It is a very thoughtful, organized and wonderfully presented food items presentation. So much love goes into making these baked delights! Still, that's not where it ends-- look at my pictures. There are many goodies to choose from. Don't drool too hard. Just get there and order a box of many! This place has an OLD WORLD CHARM. In a small way, I fell in love with the decorations, colors, the smell of warm sugar, the space ... I talked the few customers present. Every person said roughly the same thing, "TRY EVERYTHING. You can't go wrong. It's all amazing. Sweet or savory. No matter." Everything is HAND-MADE. The bakery is small but the space, display, warm and welcoming. I found street parking -- no problem. I was waiting for my dog to get bathed and groomed nearby. Found myself wanting a snack. Just needed a little something to hold me over until a real meal. Had no idea that my beef [there is also chicken, many more flavors] empanada is a MEAL in itself. The man who waits on you knows his products very well even though it takes a few seconds for him to WARM UP to you. Still, he is a wonderful, friendly & hard working man. An amazing shop speaks for itself when you walk in. I'd drive across state lines to eat at SEATANGO! Try it and see how you like it. I suspect, like any place -- going OFF PEAK times will garnish you more attention by the wait staff. Still, don't wait to go. Go to Seatango now ... no regrets! PS -- Please Understand. This is my first time ever giving a WA bakery 5 stars.

The garlicky oily dipping sauce added even more flavor to the savory empanadas and gave me dragon breath all day but it was so worth it! There is a good amount of seating here. I love the futbol decor and airiness of the place. There is some lot parking out front and street parking is also an option and where I found parking. The only downside to my experience coming here recently is how they forgot to include my ham & cheese empanada in the to go box that was nicely packaged and sealed so I couldn't check to see if it was there until I unpacked my order and found that it was not there. I didn't want to deal with the hassle of calling them to get a refund for it or drive back for it. Also, I don't feel like giving them one less star right now on this review because of it. I'm considering it this time as a natural human error and donation to this nice small business. Hopefully, they will be more careful and efficient my next visit because their product was very tasty and I do want go back there again soon to try more.

Anyways, we stopped here for a quick bite, since it has a very unique Venezuelan arepas that you cannot find anywhere else in the city. We got the sifrina and the Seattle arepas, and the portions were ridiculously generous. The shredded beef and the cheese filled up the fluffy yet crispy arepa shell, which was a delight to eat. It also has a row of different sauces to try on the table we sat down, which made the whole experience more fun. Trying out chipotle sauce and comparing it to garlic habanero sauce was just added an additional layer of fun to eating it in the restaurant. The service was quick and helped us answer how they were prepared. You couldn't ask for more at a place like this. The vibes in the restaurant also definitely improved, since the last location. Much cleaner and more spacious. With the ample parking spots nearby too, it should be easy to access this location from now on. At any rate, amazing Venezuelan arepas place. I'd recommend if you were hankering for a good Latin American food place. Or if you needed some hangover curing greasy food!

I also enjoyed their sauces and it is just fun to experiment with different sauces and enjoying the flavors. I won't be surprised if all their sauces were housemade.
