Numerous contractor issues encountered on our recent Patio and Deck project which will requir correction by another contractor. See below:
1. Missing 2 trim parts.
2. All installed low-voltage lighting missing light bulbs.
3. Siding installed with cut pieces of Versatex rather than full lengths.
4. Siding attached (white) was not the same color as siding removed.
5. Two posts installed by contactor were not installed properly.
6. One stairway handrail has visible screws installed on the exterior.
"The Superior 200 Series product when installed properly has no
visible screws."
7. Siding corners not securely fastened and separating
8. Decking not caulked properly to the structure's brick siding.
9. Concrete splatter was not removed.
10. Installed Azek Decking is not level.
11. Deck rough-in framing was not sealed per "Scope of work".
12. Vacation taken during construction resulted in substantial delay,
while Mr Oliver left his construction debris all over the property.
13. Contractor used poor language and tossed his cigarettes all over
property. Found his cigarette box stuffed down a fencing post.
14. When asked for materials invoice, Contractor refused to provide
documentaion of the purchased construction materials.
15. Hot temper, bad language (swearing) and constant smoking with
cigarettes thrown about the property.
Mr. Oliver took all our left-over decking materials and left the project with missing parts, inaccurate and poor construction, screws where there should be none, scratched railings, crooked posts with holes drilled in them due to poor contractor skills, missing light bulbs and other decking parts.
Contractor refuses to address these problems, even though he contractually agreed to warranty his workmanship for 3 years. Complaint filed with the BBB.
I would definiely avoid doing any business with "Arete Construction Services". Worst experience ever. read more
