I have hired Cornerstone for several projects. Recently I had them remove vines that I couldn't get to. They moved several of my bushes and planted new flowers and bushes I had purchased. I also had invasive honeysuckle growing and they dug it out. I needed a patch of stems removed as well Everything was taken care of properly. and mulched too The crew from Cornerstone is always professional. They clean up behind themselves. No sticks or other rubble left behind. And they check in with you to ensure you are happy. I will continue to use them for their services provided. read more

Hannah called me promptly and scheduled an appointment to see the work needed. She spent time with me and explained what was needed and why. Cornerstone did some repair to our flagstone patio a couple weeks ago in Charles Town in 2022. We had issues finding someone to do this work in the area. Honestly we were not even sure what to do but Kelly visited us and gave us a reasonable quote on leveling the patio in several places, removing all the sand mixture in between the stones and then putting new sand/poly back in place. We were very pleased with the end result - it actually exceeded our expectations. Kelly was very responsive to us and attentive to the project and the workers were also outstanding. On March 7th, 2022 I called your location and asked to have $752.60 of 1"-3" river rock delivered to my house in Hamilton, VA. The following week a driver attempted to deliver the rock to my house. When he showed up, the delivery was not 1"-3" river rock. There was a large amount of 6" or larger rocks in the delivery. I told the driver that it was not what I ordered. The driver brought the stone back, when I did not accept the delivery. He returned the rock with the hope that he would be able to find the correct rock and deliver it. We spoke by phone and found a rock that was acceptable, but I was told that there would be another delivery fee. I informed him that I would not agree to the delivery fee, and that I would instead like to cancel the order. I was told that if the order was canceled that it would be subjected to a "restocking fee". To date I have not received the stone nor a refund. When I purchased the rock over the phone I was never told that the rock could have larger stones in it, nor was I told that the order would be subjected to a restocking fee if returned UPDATE! Cornerstone ended up refunding the order. read more

I took my Honda lawn mower to be serviced and repaired due to going over a rock while cutting my grass and one of the dual blades hit it and got bent. Spoke to Anthony the service manager and explained what happened. He looked at the mower and said that he never seen a mower with 2 blades before..well I asked if he could repair it in which he replied yes. I also asked that while there to service it and replace the pull cord on it because it was beginning to fray. He wrote my requests on my order and told me that he would call me the following week by Weds. I called on Friday since I did not hear back from him to get an upadte. I was told he wasn't there but that he ordered the blades and that they would be in by the 7th. I went on the 10th to pick the mower up and they told me the total for the repair. I ask for a breakdown of what was done since I didn't even get a receipt when I drop it off. They replaced the blades, air filter, spark plug, some bogus fuel additive but never replaced the pull cord although he wrote it down on his own notes! I was extremely upset because of the failure to communicate to a customer about an update on the mower and then to see that one out of the two items most requested was not done. All I said was "Give me my mower" and left after paying for this lackluster service. My Mower was just as dirty as when I took it in, I have taken it to be serviced before in Martinsburg in which they did an awesome job and returned my mover serviced and cleaned! I lived in that area before moving to Charles Town and didn't want to drive the Martinsburg. Lesson learned! I will NEVER take any item to be serviced at Cornerstone ever again and will not recommend their service. read more

I called Cornerstone about providing landscaping services for my home that I recently put on the market. It took them weeks to get the estimate back to me and I only got it after I called to inquire about it. I gave them my payment information and signed a contract on the same day I received it and was told that my lawn would be mowed within the week. At least three weeks have gone by and NOTHING has been done. My contractor told me today that the grass was a foot high. I called them AGAIN, only to be told that they would try to get it done in the next couple of days. THIS COMPANY IS NOT RELIABLE AND OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T WANT ANYONE'S BUSINESS. read more

Our experience, from start to finish, has been nothing but wonderful! The estimate was emailed to us within a couple of hours of the onsite review. The website that they use is very convenient, secure, and professional. I had to send them a few emails to ask questions and received prompt answers every time - within 10-15 minutes! The landscaping team came earlier than anticipated (which I appreciated) and they were wonderful! We went over the entire plan prior to their start and they asked for my input along the way. I wrote a negative review & deleted it after a conversation with the owner more than a year after he dropped the ball on a project at my house. We agreed to turn the page and he politely asked for forgiveness and admitted that he needed more staff for his biz. Justin, as I said previously, is a very nice young man who appears to be in over his head with his biz. I want him to succeed but I would never call on Cornerstone if you are looking for dependability. After deleting my previous review Justin agreed to send someone over to my house to review new projects but the gentleman never showed up. read more

I filled out the contact form online on 5/23/15. I heard from the company on 5/26/15, which is fine, as it was a holiday weekend. We made arrangements for the company to come out on June 1, 2015. I was impressed when the owner of the company, himself, was the person that showed up for the consultation. He was friendly, polite, and knowledgable. I was pleased up to that point. This is where I became completely baffled, as I've never had anything like this happen from a company in business to provide a service. Almost 3 weeks passed, and I hadn't heard from the company. I sent a friendly follow-up email on 6/20/15, stating, "It'd been a few weeks since the conusultation and we hadn't heard back. Just thought I'd check back with you", to which there was never a reply. After about a week, I called the company and spoke to a woman, explained the situation, and she said that she would address it and they would be in touch. Yet, there was still no reply or contact from the company. I called again on June 30th, and got voicemail. I left a message indicating my complete bewilderment. I was polite, despite my true feelings about the fact that an enire month had passed, that I'd followed up on more than one occassion and that the company has been like a ghost. It is now July 4th, 2015, and I still have not heard from the company with an estimate, or so much as an update. I was looking forward to having the landscaping done to enjoy this summer, and wish that I could give this company a 5-star review, because I'm sure that if the work was done, it would be quality work, but unfortunately, we never got to a point that I could rate the quality of their work, only the lack of post consultation quality customer service. read more

First and foremost, the owner, Justin, is a consummate professional. He keeps his appointments and his quotes are extremely reasonable. I had a horrible backyard that most landscapers would run from screaming. But Justin and his crew tackled the project and turned it into a beautiful, safe place for my dogs to run and play. While there was a discrepancy about some of the work, Justin immediately acknowledged the error on his crew's part and is sending them back to rectify the situation. Justin and the team have been extremely professional and did a fantastic job ripping away our hideous landscaping and replaced it with a new patio, new walkway, new Deck, and they completely revamped our front landscaping around the house! Each and every member of the team has been polite and absolutely professional and these guys bust their butts getting the job done. Justin got our business thanks to prompt and excellent communication while we got our initial quote and that translated to full trust in Cornerstone as they started the project and transformed our backyard! The Patio is fantastic, we love the front, and where we were most impressed was their eagerness to make sure we were happy with the project at every point along the way. SEVERAL times Justin was quick to ask if we were happy with the project and he was eager to make suggestions as we asked for his thoughts and recommendations. We made changes to the plans along the way and were met with a positive attitude and even ideas on how to accomplish our goals without breaking the bank.
