We have used Castillo Landscaping three times this year and now I am trying to think what else I can hire them for! I'm always so pleased when they complete a big project for us! They recently removed a 21 year old tree in our front yard and ground the stump way down. They came back to it three times to keep getting it deeper, knowing that I would need to grow grass over it in the spring. Over the summer, we had them create an edge for at least 200 feet of flower bed or more. Again they did a fantastic job and many months later it still looks perfect. No more mulch in my grass! Finally, we had them come out today for planting/transplanting. They moved a 5 foot holly tree (and mulched it and secured it with posts). They planted at least ten small bushes and a couple of large ones too. They work so quickly and are such nice guys! Jonathan is extremely responsive and his crew is just great. We'll happily keep using them for all our landscaping needs. read more

I am so incredibly pleased with this company. I contacted Jonathan on a Thursday. He was at my home by Friday to discuss my goals and provide insight on what would be most helpful for our situation. He was available for my many questions and he had a team out by Sunday for my short notice request. His guys worked quickly and efficiently and the patio looks better than I could have imagined. It had not been sealed in several years and there were about 2 million weeds coming from between the pavers. I desperately wish I took before pictures because it was a complete mess. They also weeded several flower beds taking so much off of our shoulders with family coming into town. I will absolutely use Castillo's again and highly recommend. read more

We recently moved to the area and needed some landscaping work. I contracted 3 projects with Castillo Landscaping: 1) add top soil to our front bed, 2) add stone around around our deck and, 3) remove vegetation and dead branches from the back bed of our lot and cover with wood chips. Jon's crew did the first project promptly but filled in the area with"dirt"; not top soil. Since it was very hard to converse with his crew, I didn't pursue the matter further assuming that it was some sort of miscomunication on my part. The same crew came back recently to finish the last two projects. The stone work around our deck was done very well. While I had to leave for an errand before the back bed work was completed, I confirmed with the crew chief (using a translator app) that they would remove all vegetaion and dead branches from the back bed before adding the wood chips. He gave me a thumbs up after reading the translation. When I came home, the work was complete and seemed to be OK. However, while walking on the bed, I tripped on a dead branch that was covered with wood chips and noticed a lot of other wood chip covered branches and vegetation. I just started cleaning up (see attached photo) what Jon's crew should have removed before putting down wood chips. I'm not looking forward to the next few weekends. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Mr Castillo has turned into a very smug man who cuts corners and charges twice as much as everyone else. Did I mention his crew likes to blow all the leaves from one yard to the next? He says no to bagging leaves, and mulching leaves. He wants the leaves to be your neighbors problem. Definitely don't ask him to move his gigantic truck that is blocking your trash can and fire hydrant...if you do you will get verbally assaulted and laughed at. Zero stars. I called and texted this landscaper many times. Even the day before they were scheduled. I was promised they would come out and do my job. I took off work to be there. I texted the day before. Let me first say that I really like Jonathan. He is professional and knowledgeable about his business and very responsive to calls/text messages. It pains me to give him a 3 star review, but I have to be honest. I was very clear about the job I wanted and paid him handsomely, however, the execution was not as I expected. I asked for deer resistant plants and he planted some roses, which were eaten within the first week. He offered to replace them, but I would have to pay, which I did not think was fair considering I just paid him for what he delivered. I expected him to know what to plant. I also felt like there were some corners cut. I wanted everything dug out, freshly mulched and new plants installed. They did some of this, but not all. Not knowing anything about landscaping I expected him to execute my vision at a fair price utilizing his knowledge of landscaping. He left the job to his crew who did not speak English, so it was impossible for me to communicate with them. read more

I should have read the reviews here before contacting them, the reviews in google are too good to be true. We contracted them to remove plants and mulch areas around the house, gave the instructions and agreed with the price. We tried haggling, but ended with the price quoted because Jonathan promised everything will be transformed the way we wanted it. The day came, it took at least 10 hours for them to do the 6-8 hour (promised) job, and it was past 3pm and they've only done half of the job. One of the guys said, Jonathan forgot to tell them about it, for a job that cost more than $1000, we expect that everything is communicated and done properly. read more
