We met with four businesses and carefully evaluated their offerings, services, quality of previous work, and costs. Every day, his team was punctual, courteous, and clean. They began on schedule and completed the entire project ahead of schedule. AMAZING! If I could give Whitmer Decks six (or more) stars, I wouldn't hesitate…read more Cliff Whitmer and his entire crew--Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, and Keen--truly knocked it out of the park from start to finish. From our very first meeting with Cliff (the company owner!) to the final walk-through with Sam, the project manager, the experience was exceptional every step of the way. The communication throughout the entire process was outstanding. Not once did we feel anything less than a top priority. Texts were answered within an hour, and emails were always returned within hours. That level of responsiveness gave us complete confidence and peace of mind. Mike, Pavlo, and Wade were the primary builders, and they were phenomenal. They treated us like rock stars during the entire three-and-a-half-week build. Mike, the lead carpenter, took the time to explain every phase of the project in detail, which my wife and I truly appreciated. Whitmer Decks removed our old deck and built a beautiful new 14x12 screened porch, along with a 10x10 deck and staircase. I'm no professional photographer, but the results speak for themselves--we are absolutely thrilled. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can fully enjoy our stunning new space. The craftsmanship is simply incredible. These guys are true artists. Every time we look at the work Whitmer Decks completed, we're blown away all over again. Thank you to Cliff, Sam, Mike, Pavlo, Wade, Keen--and Spark Roofing as well. You are all amazing, and we will not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone who asks. I want to mention that their estimate/upgrade process was incredibly easy and actually fun to work with! Each upgrade came with about 5-10 photos that were VERY helpful in envisioning what the final product would actually look like! With gratitude, Shawn Purcell

Spent an hour at my house discussing and taking measurements. Missed HOA deadline for May due to waiting on this final quote to make my decision to submit the application. Frustrating. Owner of the company is a reckless driver. Police Involved. Caught on Camera…read more The owner of the company participated in dangerous road rage on US Route 340 in Charlestown, WV, involving a green subaru SUV and a semi truck. I was driving the semi truck when I noticed the white F150 (company owner) tailgating a green subaru in the left lane. The F150 attempted to overtake the subaru in the left turn lane at an intersection, almost causing a massive accident. F150 continued tailgating the subaru in the left lane until the next intersection. The right lane opened up in front of me as I approached the intersection. The F150 cut me off to attempt to pass the vehicles and forced me to FULLY apply my brakes. I laid on my air horn and the driver than SLAMMED on his breaks almost causing me to rear end him. I was less than a foot from the rear of his trailer when we came to a complete stop. I pulled over at the Harpers Ferry Sheetz. Police were immediately called. Incident caught on dash camera. I called the number on the back of the truck to report the driver, and the owner of the company answered. He said he was driving! He then cussed me out and said he will show up at the sheetz and "settle the situation." He then showed up to the sheetz in a red corvette and confronted me in a threatening manner. I backed away and told him to wait for the police. He left before the police came. Please consider another company, as this can happen in your neighborhood and someone could get killed!
