Today, while waiting for something to print at Office Depot, I was searching for a nearby brunch spot when it popped up in my search & I'm so glad I did! First of all, the place is absolutely adorable. It was a packed Sunday morning around 11 a.m. Only one tiny table was left inside, though there were a couple outside too. Honestly, on a beautiful Miami morning, I wouldn't have minded sitting outdoors at all. What really stood out, though, was the service. Gabriela, our hostess and waitress, was wonderful. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind with a huge smile. She walked us through the menu, answered questions about dishes I didn't recognize (it's a Venezuelan spot, after all), and made us feel completely taken care of. Even more impressive was that she seemed to be the only waitress on duty yet never came across as flustered or hurried or anything other than pure sunshine! I ordered my longtime favorite, the arepa perica, just like I used to when I worked nearby, along with a fresh-squeezed orange juice and a chicken empanada to try. My father ordered the desayuno criollo. Everything was absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful, the plating thoughtful, and the flavors delivered across the board. The space was lively and full of families, making it a great Sunday brunch spot. Everything was spotless, and I don't usually call that out because it should be a given, but the restroom was impressively clean. Like extra clean. I also just learned they have multiple locations now, which is amazing. Well deserved. I can't wait to go back, and I wish them continued success.

One time, I had a mix-up with the menu when ordering a pepito--I misunderstood how it was labeled--but the team handled it immediately and with zero hesitation. They were kind, understanding, and quickly made me a new order without any hassle. That level of care really stood out to me. On top of that, the quality of the food is next level. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and made with attention to detail. The atmosphere is just as impressive. The space has a fun, energetic vibe that fits perfectly with Wynwood, making it a great spot to hang out and enjoy a meal. What really makes it special, though, is the staff--everyone is always smiling, welcoming, and genuinely seems happy to be there. That kind of positive energy says a lot and makes the whole experience even better. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better service--definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to.

We also ordered the beef soup, which could have used a bit more flavor, and the Holiday plate, which was okay but not something that stood out. The double cheeseburger and an arepa were also just okay and probably not dishes we'd order again. Unfortunately, we also ordered the pepito mixto, but it never arrived because our waiter forgot to place the order. Service overall was a bit slow, and the atmosphere felt a little quiet--some music would really help improve the ambience. That said, the salad, plantains and juices alone would bring us back. We'd definitely return for those.

Brickell

This place is demasiado brutal, vale!…read more Pepito's Plaza Brickell is pure Venezuelan soul wrapped in an arepa. The La Pelúa is the real MVP, packed hasta el tope with juicy carne mechada and melted yellow gouda that hits en el alma. It's not just tasty, it's arrechísima. You bite into that and boom, you're back on the streets of Caracas, eating sabroso and forgetting you're even in Brickell. And the papitas fritas? Una vaina seria. Super crispy, golden, and totally addictive. You'll say you're just gonna try a few... mentira. You'll crush the whole thing before you're halfway through your arepa. Can't miss the toppings like alioli, garlic, guasacaca, spicy, or the Venezuelan punch, tartar sauce. Now let's talk billete: the price is a ganga. For what you get, massive portions, flavor for days, and that homemade feel, it's honestly a steal. In this part of Miami? That's a miracle with guasacaca on top. Plus, the crew? Unos cracks. Full-on Venezuelan warmth, quick service, good vibes, and they treat you like you've been coming there since chamito. Yasimar (pelo largo negro chick, Elizabeth, Lizbeth, Juan, and Efrain, gracias por contagiar real pana energy all around. In short: La Pelúa + crispy fries + price that doesn't hurt + puro sabor criollo + a killer team = 20/10. Go, eat, and leave saying: "¡Coño, qué brutal está esto!"

The food is Venezuelan but is really Venezuelan comfort food you'd crave after a night at the bar(s) -- of which there are many nearby. Prices were higher than expected but the quality was there. My "special bbq mixta" (grilled steak and chicken) were delicious, approaching the same level of awesomeness as Pinolandia's carne asada. My wife loved her veggie dog covered in toothpick-sized potato chips and pink sauce. My daughter devoured her tacos and my son refused to eat anything... *sigh* I might even go back before we leave to try the burger that Bourdain ate, the Doralzuela...

I use to highly recommend the small Venezuelan hole in the wall with great pastry and savory options. However, the service is not worth it. For example today I came by myself walked inside to ask if I could sit at the empty tables outside. The server came a few minutes after with a menu, I tried to make it easy so I said "I am just having chicken tenders and a cup of water please". She said "great so you've been here before". After 10 minutes of sitting alone I walked inside and politely asked for a cup of water. She responded "it's free I'll bring it when I'm ready". So I went back outside sat by myself and a gentlemen sat him self and ordered an espresso. The server made his espresso brought it to him while I am still sitting on the hot side walk without a cup of water. She brought the cup of water while I was getting up to leave. At this point it had been 17 minutes. I told her I was leaving and she said I have to stay for the chicken tenders. I said I would have loved to but the lack of service and disrespect made me loose my appetite. She then went on to call me "Pathetic". I didn't respond I've been in the restaurant industry for 27 years have a quite successful restaurant here in Miami Beach. I don't know the servers name she never told me. But if anyone "owners or investors" want to look into the matter I highly recommend it. She had dark curly hair, was over wait and wearing glasses. Calling a guest"/paying customer "Pathetic" is unacceptable.
