It was always a dream of ours to own a pool. After having gotten quotes and design ideas from a few…read moredifferent pool contractors and construction outfits, we were left feeling as if our dream would never be fully realized. None of the mockups we were shown looked aesthetically-pleasing or felt like they were "us." All that changed when we contacted Swink's Creations. From the moment we met Mark, he seemed to understand what we were after, taking into consideration our needs (handicap-accessible) and specific desires (baja shelf, water feature, free-form pool shape). Chris helped us choose tile, rock and concrete that would best compliment our existing backyard and porch, and Blaise was instrumental in making sure everything was to our specifications, from the placement of handrails to depth of the shelf, and bringing things to code in terms of updating gates and fences. Cesar was our point of contact throughout the process, and he kept us updated every step of the way, so we never had to wonder where we were at in the project. Any questions we had were answered promptly. The team operated quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up after each day's work was completed. They treated our property like it was their own. Angel, Renee, Angela and everyone in the Swink's office were professional and welcoming, and we really felt taken care of. The project was started in mid-August and we were enjoying our gorgeous hot tub, pool and fire pit by Veteran's Day; at least a month ahead of schedule! We just cannot recommend Swink's Creations highly enough. Their prices are somewhat higher than most of their competitors, but the care with which they work and custom beauty they bring to their projects is worth the cost.

Swinks did a fantastic job. Every single thing went smoothly and came out better than I expected…read more Their pricing was in line with other professional landscapes I received estimates from. But swinks responsiveness and professionalism gave them the edge. They worked with me and my limited budget. If I had the ability I would have them do a heck of a lot more work around the house, they are that good. Thanks to Carl and the team at swinks for everything. What lead me to Swinks: I tried to take shortcuts to save money by using local gardeners but ended up getting the short end of the stick. The local gardener I used was one that my neighbors use for their weekly maintenance. The guy talked a long game but in the end lied and cheated. The moral of the story: Hire a professional the first time you'll end up saving money!

When we were ready earlier this year to get the work done we did extensive extensive research online since we were new to the area and didn't know anyone. Of the 8 companies we contacted, Johnny and Hard Rock Effex stood out from the beginning. Johnny got back to us quickly after we contacted him and got us a quote quickly right after he came to our home. Some of the other companies took weeks to get back to us, if they even got back to us at all. After reviewing the quotes we got and interacting with the representatives of the other companies, it was clear Johnny and Hard Rock Effex were the company for us. We have nothing but great things to say about them. From Johnny to his foreman to all the guys who work for him, they were all such a pleasure to deal with. They were on time, kept a neat workplace, were respectful and all around lovely guys to deal with. Johnny listened to what we wanted, answered all our questions and made suggestions when he thought it was necessary. We trusted him implicitly and his suggestions were always right. The end result is our pool and backyard are absolutely beautiful! As we went through the process we started realizing we needed new landscape lighting and new gates. We asked Johnny if he could do those as well and he could. It made our lives so much easier dealing with one person/company for everything. Hard Rock Effex does high quality work and charges reasonable prices. We highly, highly recommend Hard Rock Effex and Johnny and his crew. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and met every deadline. Every step of the way their experience, expertise, and professionalism shone through. If you want high quality work and great customer service at a reasonable price, Hard Rock Effex can't be beat.

David, your response contains factual statements that are not accurate, and I have timestamped…read morecamera footage documenting the timeline. The installation did not take three days. The main installation began Monday and was essentially completed that same day. Two workers returned briefly Tuesday morning, after which you told me the project was finished and collected my final payment. You also previously told me that you returned Monday to check the work. I reviewed my camera footage and could find no evidence that you returned that day. Your statement that I "could not be bothered" is also false and insulting. I was working at my job. In fact, I interrupted a work meeting and went outside when I saw your crew accessing my underground sprinkler area. I hired you to manage this project and supervise your crew. I was not supposed to repeatedly leave my own job to supervise yours. As for your statement that I "expressed satisfaction at the final walkthrough," I took a quick look while I was between work meetings and, at first glance, the new pavers looked nice. That does not mean I accepted problems I had not yet had an opportunity to discover. You specifically gave me three days to inspect the completed work and report any problems. I reported the problems the very next day. What you also did not tell me when you collected my final payment was that you were about to leave for a week-long vacation. I learned that only after I contacted you about the problems I discovered. Your statement that every issue was addressed by your company is also not accurate. During the original installation, a sprinkler was damaged and my gardener repaired it. After you returned from vacation and moved the drain that had been installed in the wrong location, a second sprinkler line was damaged. I ultimately hired and paid my own sprinkler professional to repair that damage because, by that point, I no longer wanted you or your crew working on my property. There were also workmanship issues with the pavers, including the area around my custom-built catio, where the door was left jammed and unable to open properly, poorly cut pavers, and an area that was not flat or level. My backyard was left with sand everywhere, construction debris, dug-up grass and even the crew's lunch trash. I stand by my review and my description of my experience. I have photographs, messages and timestamped camera footage documenting both the condition of my property and the timeline described above.

After looking into replacement options such as wood and vinyl, we decided to invest in a slumpstone wall for its lack of maintenance required and longevity. After consulting with several local masonry contractors, we chose CPF Masonry and it was a great decision! We valued Pat's extensive knowledge of the requirements for a structural wall and their pricing was highly competitive. Pat also demonstrated extreme patience with us during a lengthy pre-construction phase as we were dealing with a difficult neighbor for the project. CPF Masonry managed the entire project from start to finish: tearing down and hauling away the old wooden fence, building the new stone wall, and helping with the cleanup afterwards. The final product looks absolutely phenomenal and completely transformed the aesthetic of our backyard.
