Ronnie did exceptional job on grooming my dog. I will becoming back for next time for my dog grooming.

Though it's a drive, we've been going here off and on for around 20 years and two dogs. We've tried other groomers and have always come back because our dogs never had fear coming here and always came back happy and looking like they came from a dog show (even when they looked pretty bad coming in, ). When you walk in, you'll see the many awards that the Ardy's owner, Ronny, has won. He does, indeed, cut show dogs. The only advice I'd give newcomers is to makes sure he knows where your dog's weird acne spots are, and ask that your sanitary cut not be too short. And defer to his opinion of what sort of style to use. He has great judgement on what would look best on your dog. We've had the best cuts since just leaving it up to him Ardy's is special. The problem with the grooming industry, I think, is that companies will push groomers to maximize output at the expense of quality. They treat grooming like a production line. From experience , it seems that no to matter how much you pay that's what you're getting. Ardy's doesn't seem to do that (especially when you're not demanding a style that won't look good on your dog). Ardy's cares about quality, and it shows. Finally, there are reviews on Yelp from 5 years ago about how the groomer seemed to have used an inexperienced grooming novice at some point but it appears that he's either doing them all himself or has hired someone better, because we haven't experienced anything like that since we started getting our dog professionally groomed again after covid. If that's a concern for you, please ask Ronny- don't write Ardy's off based on outdated reviews. read more

Bella & Cherie have been coming here for 11 and 9 years respectively. They are always excited about coming here for their makeovers. They are truly energetic walkins as they run to the door and wag their tails in anticipation of seeing Ronnie and his staff again. They always do an amazing job with the girls. At times they have changed their cuts to match the seasons or each girls need for a slightly different cut. The attention to detail for the girl's needs is just amazing. Ronnie is very knowledgeable and thorough in his care. Often giving me tips on health issues or things to bring up with their veterinarian. From time to time I often board the girls with them. There have been times where I have had to leave on short notice and they have sent Loni or Eleanor over to pick the girls up and even return the girls to me after business hours. Their commitment to individual customer care and service is beyond what most businesses provide-let alone any other grooming service would provide. When I travel I feel safe knowing that the girls are being attended to with the upmost care and respect. Yes, my girls are little princesses and are treated like that at home. It means a lot to me (and them of course) that Ronnie and his staff treat them like the little princesses that they are. read more

Let's just starts by saying how much I hate to drive ! But ....I just drove all the way from Austin to Dallas JUST to get our sweet loves groomed by Ronny !! ( our Westie and Lhasa Apso which we bought from him ) We have know him since 2009 when we used to lived in Dallas , I was In Search for a PROPER Westie groomer and I FINALLY found him after all the messed up hair cut my poor baby had to put up with . For the first visit.... I picked up my Westie I was in shock !!! His head was actually round !!! Like they were supposed to be and not triangle!! His body also looks very nicely done . My Buddy was not in stress in anyway nor having any cut or hair dryer burn on his body , Ronny did a great job and we were hooked ! We kept going there for a couple of years then we bought a lovely sweet puppy Lhasa Apso from him , and we kept going to him and only him , no problem at whatsoever... so am not sure why others says they had any problems ??? Ronny is a great guy !! He always responded bapromptly to us . We never had anything but nice things to say about him ! Anyway , i just drove to Dallas ( we moved to Austin ) and got our babies groomed and they were PERFECT !!! and Ronny even gave me discount !!! What a nice guy I am happy with his art as always ! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I just moved to the area and was very excited to have a dog grooming place close to my residence. I called the day before to make sure that the groomer had experience with Pomeranians. The person I spoke to on the phone assured me that their groomers have 15+ years experience and they frequently have Poms as clients. I went to Yelp and found decent reviews so I decided to give this place a try. I even asked my previous groomer (Pooch Patio) to send me grooming notes so that we can get the same cut on my dog, however the person on the phone told me that it would not be necessary. So my husband dropped off my dog and picked him up this afternoon and much to my dismay and horror, he has received the kind of haircut you would typically see from an inexperienced groomer who does not know what to do with Poms' hair or from Petsmart or Petco, i.e. he looks like a damn rat. The hair around the face is very choppy. The hair on his body and legs are all one length (which is typically how it should be) but it is only 1/2 inch all around and it looks like the groomer screwed up and kept cutting and shaving until there is hardly any hair left!! I am sure from previous reviews that this place does do a good job with other breeds, but BEWARE if you have a breed that requires more high maintenance and TLC, not this poor excuse for what is supposed to be grooming. Wish I was not fed inappropriate and inaccurate information on the groomers experience with Poms, then I would've taken my $50+ I spent somewhere else. Ardy for Paws did excellent work on my Maltesse doggie yesterday.We drive long ways to have our doggie the most beautiful haircut . This people are so profesional always on time and our doggie loves to go there. We tried several other places but nothing is equal to Ardys work. If you have a Maltese or Schnauzer they do excellent work, we are bringing our dogs here for almost 10 years and no complains at all. read more

I paid $60 for my dog to be shaved. They didn't give her a bath, although we asked and paid for it. Her nails were clipped, not filed. They look awful. And she came home with a huge scrape on her back. From the clippers or something. My pup has been to many groomers and this was the worst experience I've had. read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I took my golden doodle there to get a trim and they completely shaved her whole body and left a huge poof on her tail and head. I specifically told them not to shave her. Also, her ear was bleeding from a cut on the edge. I called to express my concern and the man that answered the phone yelled at me claiming that I neglected my dog. He claimed that her entire coat was matted. However, I brush her several times a week and bathe her regularly and know for a fact that it was not matted. He proceeded to yell at me even when I was trying to get off of the phone. I will never use them as a groomer again and hope no one else puts their dog through this torture. read more

The worst experience at a groomers ever. Our dog's shampoo was not rinsed out properly which caused skin irritation, she was blowed dry too close which caused burn marks all over her body and her ear leather was ripped because they were so rushed and rough on her. We tried these 2 male groomers 3 times and each visit our dog was TERRIFIED to go in. When we decided on a new clean professional groomers they asked me if she had previously been taken to Ardy's because of her town ear. Apparently, "they are know for this and being very rough with the dogs". Avoid this place for your fur baby's sake! read more

Before bringing your pet here, please read this review: After 8 years with the same groomer, we decided to bring our Lhasa Apso to Ardy's to give them a try today. Upon picking him up, he scratched my leg several times, and I could tell his nails were still too long. The front desk lady suggested I talk to the groomer about the long nails. The groomer (Clay) then proceeded to yell, "I FILED HIS NAILS!" at me. I showed Clay the scratches I got, and he stormed towards me to yell at me again. Clay proceeded to say "Your dog is an a**hole, have you tried to trim his nails before?" He scared me out of the building, slammed the door behind me, and perhaps the worst part was, the front desk lady (Leslie) said and did nothing to stop him while it was happening. Customer service is an important part of the grooming business, and I am disappointed with the service I received today. The owner called me just now to apologize on behalf of the groomer and the front desk person. We will not be returning to Ardy's. read more

I had great hopes for this groomer as they were small and seemingly expereinced with rarer breeds. I was expecting an intimate experience for my pup. What I found when I came to pick up my prized Chinese Crested Puff, was a pittifully shaven looking poodle. I brought them a prized teddy bear faced pup with beatiful flowing column legs and tail, they returned me a gawky unevenly shaven, trimmed to to bare bone, prissy pawed poodle wanna'be. And the odd thing was that while they shaved his poor body down, and only half of his tail, they didn't touch his belly (which is the only part that should have been shaved). I will not be back and my poor pooch has to suffer while it all grows back (probably about 6+ months). Don't fall for the pretty pictures of the prize Laso they have everywhere. After many false starts with other local groomers I have found the one I will be staying with forever! Ardy's For Paws is a fantastic place for world class grooming. I have a West Highland Terrier and so many groomers get the Westie Head wrong or fail to give the proper skirting. I am always so pleased with the cut my baby girl gets at Ardy's For Paws. Her cut looks great and they take time to make sure her cut is perfect. This is not an easy task with my little rascal. Even better, i have found that my baby girl readily goes to grooming. There is no fear or hesitation when i hand her off. This is unheard of with my little alpha dog. My Westie has skin allergies and she bites at her Paws and her hing quarters. Well the staff noticed this and they even kept her soaking longer to allow for her medicated shampoo to properly do its job. This is a company that is run by people who truly have a passion for dogs and see them as companions and not "just dogs". Thank you for your excellent services. Wow! I can't even tell you how disappointed I am. I have a beautiful Shih Tzu. I researched the best groomers in the area. I went in and met with the owner, Ronnie. After I showed him pictures, and explained that I wanted to keep his face long, Ronnie did a good job. He told me he would be the only one to cut his hair. Four weeks later, second visit, Ronnie was there when I brought him in. Obviously put him with a very inexperienced groomer , and didn't pass on my instructions. Groomer totally chopped his face. Cut over three inches off. My dog looks like an alien, and I feel sick every time I look at him. And my dog threw up the minute he got home and peed on the floor, which makes me concerned about his experience there. So disappointed. read more

I just moved to the area and my Vet recommended Ardy's to me. They took my Maltese in on the same day I called and did an excellent job with her cut and nails. I had made an appointment with Pappy's, but they require a booster for Kennel Cough to be updated every six months (which my Vet found to be unnecessary). Very pleased to find this groomer after my groomer who breeds and shows westies was no longer able to groom my dog. They have somebody there who actually truly knows how to groom a West Highland White Terrier according to AKC breed standard...chrysanthemum head, carrot tail, back well blended into skirt and leg furnishings. LESS than 1 STAR. Wish I had read the reviews before taking my new puppy here. The guy is weird his communication is terrible. Ist time the cut was bad and he didn't cut the nails. 2nd time he cut the nails and didn't file them. I give better bathes at home. I will not be back save yourself time and money. Be warned that they have poor internal communication and if you decide to come here, you may not get what you ask for. Be prepared to leave detailed instructions for what you want done to your dog and have them repeated back (which didn't help our situation). It wouldn't hurt to have them written out. We recently had a horrible experience in which our dog was returned back to us completely shaved after requesting a trim. When we did express our disappointment, we received a text message that blamed us, our dog, and someone else's dog for the mistake. The issue was handled very poorly, unprofessionally, and has resulted in the loss of 5 years of our business. read more

Do not go. Worst grooming experience ever! I first started using Ardy's because I heard they didn't require vaccination records, which was convenient for us because our elderly dog had cancer and could not longer be vaccinated - perhaps that should have been the first warning sign. I was never overly thrilled with the quality of grooming, but it was convenient and I tried to not be picky. However my previous visit they switched my instructions on my two dogs and cut them opposite of what I'd requested. I let it go. Then later I discovered their nails hadn't been clipped and ear hair hadn't been plucked. This resulted in an ear infection for one (and a vet appt, antibiotic and bill) Today was my last visit, never to return. I received a call to come pick up my dog because he couldn't be groomed because he was "just very old" and difficult and said he bit the groomer (although I've never known my 14 year old dog to bite) When I walked in, my dog is brought to me partially groomed and with blood all over his face and paws. I didn't get a straight story on what happened except the blood belonged to my dog and the excuse that "he's old and didn't know what is going on" and struggled too much and they said it happened at the last visit also - information that was news to me! DON T GO THERE! I have been taking my Maltese for a couple of years and I thought it was ok at the beginning but now he does not care... We used to bring our dog here for his regular grooming and they always did a good job. Even after we moved farther away we continued to go and then the last few times we brought him, they just really fell short. We continued to go until the final straw when they cut all of the fur off my little dog's beautiful tail. I think Ronnie (the owner) has passed the grooming off to someone else. We were referred to Clay (the groomer) at Ardy's by our previous groomer who we had been using for almost 10 years but recently retired. She was and still is the BEST poodle groomer in North Tx! We have a 10 year old standard poodle and were told Clay was an expert with poodles. Unfortunately, what we experienced was anything but expertise. We sent her there for 3 grooms. Each experience was worse than the first. After her first groom, she came home with a tear in the leather of her ear. Our last time there he dried her using a very high temperature that was too close to her skin and she was burned. Older dogs have thinner and more sensitive skin. She eventually had scabs all over her body that irritated her for weeks. We asked our former groomer for advice on how to handle this, and she gave us some suggestions on what to say to Clay. When we went in last week for one more try, Clay had a very poor attitude. Instead of hearing our concerns and addressing them, he said I know you called your former groomer and talked about me! We wanted to share some pictures with him on what her skin looked like and what we could change in her grooming to fix It. Instead in a hostile tone told us that we were fired as clients. While that is his right, I wish he was more cordial and customer service oriented and kept our dog's well being in mind. Instead he proved to be someone who was arrogant and unqualified to be a poodle groomer or any breed probably. read more
