I love coming to Ardovinos for their pizza. When I'm craving a thinner crust pizza, this is my top choice. I visited during the week for lunch and was in and out in less than an hour. The service was excellent; our waitress frequently stopped by to offer refreshments, extra plates, and to check in on us. I ordered a pizza with pepperoni, green chile, and ricotta cheese. When I received my pizza, I said to my friend dining with me that it was made with love, and you could really tell. It was delicious! My friend ordered the turkey pesto sandwich, which he also said exceeded his expectations. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is more of a small intimate feel. Super disappointing. We are from out of town, I brought my husband for the best pizza he would ever try. What a joke. Place was empty, waitress took our order, didn't write it down. She confirmed the order 3 times cause she couldn't remember it. Left and then came back to ask for the order again because she forgot. Pizza was cold. Our waitress sat in a little table near the check out counter on an iPad without coming to check on us for refills. It was sad.. You want good pizza and a great sitting area that lets you not only soak up some good scents from the kitchen but some sun rays as well. Not as busy as the other locations so if you want to beat the crowds this place can be an alternative for you. The staff is almost always busy attending to other drive-thru orders or closing down services. But that doesn't stop you from enjoying your stay or much less your food. The food is great! But when you order wine please clarify the price. They changed the prices and we were not informed. The prices were $ 10 more. The wine that we ordered on the menu stated that it cost $ 25 and they charged us $ 35. When we asked the manager to please adjust the price, because the menu indicated another price, they took off only $ 5 for 2 bottles of wine that we purchased. We used to LOVE this Ardovino's Pizza and were THRILLED that they now carry a cauliflower crust BUT the salad was terribly wilted and all the server could say in response was, "Okay"...not I'm sorry about that or I'll let the kitchen know but she simply said 'okay' and walked away. The ladies restroom smelled clean but looked very dirty and we were there before the dinner crowd. My fiance and I love their happy hour, which is from 3-6 Mon-Fri. $2.50 longneck beers and 1/2 price small pizzas. Since we're usually there early, we have had good service, but I will say that when we're leaving there is often times a line waiting for a table and it gets quite busy. read more

When we first moved to El Paso everyone said "You have to try Ardovino's!" So we did.. and boy were we disappointed. My disclaimer is that this review is based solely on the pizza and salad we ordered to-go. The antipasto salad was literally lettuce..maybe a couple of pepperonis if you're lucky and what looked like someone took sandwich cheese and cut it up and threw it on top. We paid $11.00 for lettuce!! What a JOKE. We also ordered The Woody Pizza which was just a soggy mess drowned in red sauce and it was ice cold. An absolutely waste of money. I think some years back I went to an Ardovino's Pizza on the Eastside and liked it. Then I moved to the Westside and when you say Ardovino's you immediately are directed to Sunland Park (which is not a bad thing either). I'm still unsure if Ardovino's Pizza and Ardovino's Desert Crossing are one in the same, but I feel like they are... don't they both serve pizza and such? I really fall in love with these places that have a little bit of a European feel (and I'm not just talking about the food) and Ardovino's Pizza delivers this quaint restaurant with different sections and knick-knacks lining the wall that are actually for sale like Ritter chocolates, Stella Artois glasses, and wine glasses. I'm not saying that you'd see this in every restaurant in Europe, but you'll definitely come across a mom-n-pop spot that does something similar and there's just something homely about it. Also, it's a dimly lit place which adds to the coziness, but there's still enough light that you can read the menu. We skipped the apps and went straight for the pizza. I went for the 'Create-Your-Own' and had them throw on pepperonis, onions, and sun dried tomatoes. I ordered the small and that was the ideal portion for me especially since we didn't start with anything else, but I would definitely bump it up to the large if I was sharing. I really enjoyed their pizza. The crust had a light toasty-ness to it and it was thick enough that it was a softer crust. I loved the atmosphere. The pizza was good. Staff was quick and friendly. I imagine we'll be back to this neighborhood eatery. And I can't wait to go in the summer when the patio doors will all be open. read more

Not your typical pizza joint. This location, like others, can draw a crowd around 7:00 pm weekends, but a table is usually open at other times. On a recent trip we were seated and drinks served. You can get a glass or bottle of wine for a price that is not over the top. I normally order a $24 bottle of wine that we think is great. Nice selection of beer and canned drinks, like sparkling water. Our teenagers still like going there, but it is a family spot. The pizza is quasi-gourmet I'd say. No crazy toppings, but a thin crust and some quality on top. They have a white pizza, the Royal, that is a nice change from the red sauce. Gluten free crust is an option as well as light or no cheese. Super small 1-topping kids pizzas are available off menu. My wife liked her sandwich and soup. I enjoyed my pizza. A small pizza is $10 and easily feeds me with one slice left over. Two people can dine for under $30 without drinks. Like always our waitress, Luz, was super friendly and made sure our order was exactly as we requested. The menu has not changed much over the years, but could use a refresh while keeping the classics. If you are new to the West side of El Paso or just visiting, I recommend giving it a shot. I'm not exactly sure why the other reviews are stating this is such a bad place. I've been to Ardovinos many times and it has always been good (I even put up a picture of the pizza I just got, yumm). If you like thin crust, this is the way to go. The pizza tastes great, and the ingredients always taste fresh. The one thing I haven't cared for is the fact that the marinara served with the garlic bread is a little watery. I like my marinara thick, but it's not going to deter me from coming to Ardovinos or even ordering the garlic bread (which have a crispy crust and a nice soft instead)! I don't like the doughy stuff as I like to enjoy the ingredients and not eat a loaf of wonder bread (dough). This place has the thin crust, and it was good. Had a meat pizza which we all enjoyed. For dessert the kids had ice cream and I had the brownie Sunday. The portions were great and it was my favorite kind of brownie-soft. Ordered large Cheese Pizza and the Lasagna. Needless to say, for about $30, the food was lousy. The VERY thin-crust pizza was partially burned on the sides, the cheese was just unrecognizable and the onion and pepper toppings - you had to look twice to see it once. When calling the manager and explaining the situation, there was no apology, except for "... maybe can come in and dine with us (will be open June1)". She did not even suggest that if we do not want to dine in, maybe get a coupon for a free sandwich that could be picked up at the drive through lane. Customer Service at its worst. I love the food. But, the other day we ordered a pick up order and asked what time they closed due to the activities we were doing. We were told they closed at 10pm. On her way home my daughter went to pick up the order. She arrived at 9:15 pm. All the lights were off and the door was closed. She got off the car and knocked and no one replied. I love the minestrone soup with the pastrami sandwich! The pizza is also great. We generally order for pick up and the food is still hot and good when we get home. This is one of our go to places for dinner when we are too tired to cook. They also have a unique profile of toppings that you won't find elsewhere in town. Their Shrimp and Garlic Pizza is probably my favorite, but their traditional topped pies are solid as well. Their meats are all sliced deli style, which makes for nice presentation on the pizza. Dining in can be tricky since it fills up fast, even on weeknights, but they turn over their tables pretty quickly. Their beer and wine selection is pretty solidl. Lately I've found myself using their drive through pick up menu, which is incredibly convenient. My only real knock is their pizza is pricey, even for the quality ingredients they use, so if you're looking to eat pizza on the cheap, this is not the place for you. read more
