It was HORRIBLE, I could see the crust throughout the whole pizza, there was barely any cheese or sauce. You are better off with dominos or Pizza Hut. We arrived an hour before closing. We were told our order would take about 25 minutes. No problem considering we were the only patrons there. After about 40 minutes I got up to check what the holdup was, the girl that took my order said they had boxed it and it was sitting on top of the oven. Well that oven must've been off cause my pizza wasn't even lukewarm. She said she accidentally put it in as takeout. Smh! The wings were gross and tossed haphazardly into some sauce (there was parts uncoated by sauce) the little joints weren't even melted inside it was just pieces or mozzarella as a whole. So I finally gave in! I had been seeing posts of delicious looking pizzas from all over the country and I just had to have some pizza. Pizza is not a common item in my house because it is just me so I end up freezing most of a pie. Yes, I am from NY and call it a pie! I had loads of stuff to do in the house to get ready for my visitors over the Easter holidays so I ordered delivery from the Pizza Joint. They had a 20" pie on the menu and I was curious, so I ordered the 20" with pepperoni. They will deliver by the delivery service of your choice (door dash, Uber eats or Grub-hub) and the food arrived on time and at a perfect temperature. The pie was enormous and was cut to Brooklyn style sized slices- this was just heavenly. The crust was perfectly soft and pliable and still held all the ingredients in place. The aroma of the sauce when I opened the box told me I would be enjoying every morsel. I dug right in and ate until I had my fill- it was so good. I did freeze most of the pie but it won't be in the freezer for long! read more

I loved the fact that this pizza was thin and not doughy like some of the big chains out there. Freshly made, the ingredients were delicious and they even gave us crushed pepper and parmesan cheese which is so rare nowadays. They have plenty of room to seat many customers and appreciated they had some sun protection on their windows. Enjoy the sun but not when it's on my face as I try to stuff it with pizza. Parking is no issue here and the location is hard to miss. The service was cordial and never needed to ask for more since all was provided on the spot and in good quantities. We tried The Pizza Joint's location on the West Side today, and it was delicious! I would say that I actually prefer this location in general over the one on N. Mesa Street near UT El Paso. We ordered the Jefferey again (& substituted the black olives for bacon), and it was exactly what I was craving. The pizza had thin crust, fresh toppings, and amazing tomato sauce - very flavorful with a good amount of spice compared to that of other pizza places. It saddens me this was my first experience today at the Pizza Joint. I honestly don't think I've had a better salad (house salad extra tomato). It was stacked perfectly and every bite was delicious. Balsamic vinaigrette was made in house along with all of their pizzas / dough / sauce. I can't wait to try their wings next time! Bravo!! read more

Tired of the big chains I decided to give this a try. Got a pizza by the slice and some egg roll type things ( yeah, no idea what they are called) as I was driving around house hunting. Pizza was appropriately greasy and good. The side roll mini pizza things were also good. I have ordered subsequent times now.... Not the absolute best pizza I have ever had (fat man and I travel a bit) but much better than the chains. Only one, truly minor, caveat is it is a smidge pricey. Make sure you count your pennies when ordering the loaded varieties, it adds up quick. 8/10 will be back when my measly budget allows. read more

The crust was crispy and not too bad a flop. Cheese was good. Sauce had a lot of flavor. Toppings were good. A little pricey for the pie but I'm very satisfied and it was a comfortable size. Only issue was it was delivered (door dash) and it wasn't cut. Not sure if that's a normal thing there but we were pretty disappointed since we don't have a pizza cutter. Been curious about this pizza place for a while now so I swung by for lunch. I ordered their lunch special which is a slice of pizza with choice of sides ( chips, salad, wings) I choose the sweet bbq wings. It was sure tasty. I also ordered the BLT salad which is also pretty good for $6.50. The pizza slice is thin crust and the dough is ok. For me to compare with is Costco pizza, costco pizza is more substantial. I would say that The Pizza Joint has above average pizza. Our go-to for the first time around is always a Pepperoni because well, if you can't make a decent Pepperoni Pie you probably shouldn't be making pizza. We called ahead and ordered to-go. It was 5:30 on the day of Daylight Savings and the place was so poorly lit we honestly thought it was closed. Their sign wasn't lit (or doesn't light up?) and the lights inside were so dim that the only way we knew they were open was the Open sign on the other side of the building. The pizza was good, not great - not terrible, just slightly above average. We ordered a 20" and it was $26.50 which felt like a lot however you do get a decent sized pie for the price. I came in here really excited to try to the Pizza Joint. I have heard quite a few good things about this pizza place and the standout part being the size of the pizza slices. I took my mom and my brother to check it out with me especially because it was new and the good things I heard. Upon coming inside I loved the look of the place the way they designed the look of the menu above and the entire style of the restaurant. We decided to order The Stash - Baked in pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh tomatoes, ricotta & mushrooms on their garlic infused Pierre's red sauce and three little pizza joints - Pepperoni and mozzarella rolled into homemade dough, hint of garlic topped with oregano and parsley. Let's just say when the pizza arrived I was as excited as a little kid eating ice cream for the first time. It had the look and style of New York pizza which is obviously a must-have when I travel to New York. The only thing that came close to New York pizza was the grease except greasier. I found the pizza to be pretty bland in flavor which is saying something. I mean it is so difficult to not make pizza tasty, but this location accomplished it. The pizza is definitely the New York size but extremely lacks the New York taste and any other taste that makes pizza great. I was extremely excited to try out the Pizza Joint but in the end, I was ultimately disappointed. However, the pizza joints were the standout hitters of the entire experience. I found those little pizza rolls to be delicious and had the flavor that the pizza was lacking. Sorry Pizza Joint, my family and I tried to love you, but this place just was not for us. They never have your food ready when they say they will. This time when I went they let me know I'd put my order in five minutes before when I had a timestamp of 35 minutes before that. Which means they just forgot to put it in and did not want to tell the truth. No apology, no hurry. Just let me look like I didn't know what I was talking about.They are so laid-back and they just can't figure it out. Every time we call in a pizza order we are put on hold for a good 5 to 10 minutes. I think I'm done at this point. I have really wanted to eat here and support local. Still the best!!! Pizza Joint makes pizza that puts any national chain to shame, and best of all, it's local!!! I used to live really close to their Mesa location and would frequent a few times a month, and even when I moved further west near Franklin High, would still hit up the Mesa location when I wanted some good carry out. Imagine my elation when I saw that signature "Pizza Joint" sign go up in the old Andre's Pizza location. Having gone when they first opened, it was absolute chaos. They were slammed and I don't think they were prepared for the overwhelming response they were going to get. I knew I would have to wait before publishing a review to when things calmed down and they hit their stride. I'm glad I did. My most recent visit was fantastic even with a solid crowd present. The pizza has a slightly sweet crust that has a nice crunch even though it's hand tossed. Personal favorite pies are the Jimmy Pesto and the Fungi. They also sell pizza by the slice in a wide variety. If you've never been, imagine big ol slices of pizza you see in the movies from New York that you have to fold in half. It's an amazing treat. Lastly, I love that they pay their respect to the location and the previous tenant Andre's, by still offering the Greek Salad with Andre's dressing, and I think they also will be selling the great subs Andre's used to serve. The interior is a complete overhaul and is brilliantly done in psychedelic Pizza Joint styling. If you've never been to Pizza Joint, go and have a great slice of pizza and support a fantastic local business. If you have been, it's still wonder. read more
