We knew when we walked in we found a winner. Chips and salsa were another sign the food was going to be good. The salsa was the perfect amount of spicy. Nor did I know they served breakfast. Food was solidly El Paso Mexican. Had the combo platter #1. Serving sizes were generous. Nothing original or unexpected They did have a "chili relleno burrito" But it was quite literally a chili relleno wrapped in a tortilla, no sauce Would have been interested if they had done a turducken with it via fried corn tortillas or something, but like I said, this isn't that sort of place.

This place is a classic El Paso institution--serving up no-frills, satisfying Mexican diner fare that hits the spot. I ordered the machaca burrito, and my daughter went with the chorizo burrito. Both were delicious, flavorful, and generously portioned--exactly what you'd hope for from a neighborhood Mexican cafe. The prices were very reasonable, making this a great value meal. The service was friendly, though understandably a bit slow with how busy the place was. Still, the staff managed the crowd with warmth and efficiency. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a well-loved local spot--laid-back, packed with regulars, and buzzing with conversation. Even on a Monday morning, the place was full and parking was hard to find, which tells you everything you need to know. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and had a classic diner vibe that made us feel right at home. It's clear this is a popular go-to for locals--and now, we see why. Would definitely come back next time we're in the area.

We absolutely love this place and feel right at home in there. In just a matter of two weeks we've tried probably half the menu and know almost everyone that works there now. They're 24hours and good for just about any Mexican/American craving. Standouts include machaca, caldo de res & pollo, desebrada anything, hash browns, plain ole coffee, the buttered bread that comes with the menudo & the must try item being PANCAKES. Their pancakes are seriously something special; I can't even really explain why, they are just perfect.

I got the Mexican plate sampler, and my husband had the daily lunch special. We were sat quickly, but did have to wait for our server (Judith) to come tend to us. Judith was great, friendly &professional. The restaurant was still pretty full from the lunch rush, so it was understandable & being in the service industry for many years I'm observant on when staff is struggling or intentionally neglecting service. When the food came, it was well presented, had good flavor, and the portion had me full too quickly. Rich, I believe was his name was all over the restaurant clearing tables, helping the two servers, restocking, you can tell he took pride in his work. The dining area was a decent size, the building is a little older, but for a local neighborhood restaurant for the price, quality of food and service, it's a good place to come.

I felt like I found another less-known gem in El Paso…read more It's definitely a neighborhood restaurant. Food has the distinct home cooked feel to it. After all, it's housed in a converted residence with two dining areas. One looks like a smaller bedroom and the other looks like a combination of living and dining rooms. It's very cozy. When we visited, there were at least four families and two couples having a dinner. Our server was excellent. She was friendly, courteous and efficient. Our drinks came out fast, and our food came out very fast even though it was sort of busy with dinner crowd--some large family dinner parties. Serving size comes in either full or half. I ordered a full order of spaghetti with meat sauce (photo). It first looked enormous and probably it was, but I was so hungry I finished the whole thing, and it was very good! I was looking around the dining room and saw some enormous serving of salads and pasta dishes. You can add some protein with your pasta. The fettuccine Alfredo I saw had a huge piece of chicken on it. I'd say in general the serving size is very generous here yet the price is very reasonable. For instance, my large spaghetti with meat sauce was only $9.95 with garlic toast. Since it's a la carte menu, if you want to add anything else to your pasta, I'd recommend to make it a dinner for additional $6.95. It'll come with soup, salad, bread and spumoni. What a deal, but you must come here with very good appetite since the serving size is huge. The only challenge I could think of is parking. Immediate street parking is very limited. I think it's almost impossible when it's crowded. There's a parking in the back, but you have to get in from the back alley. Unless you know it's there, you might have a difficult time locating it. I must come back here to try other menu items because I enjoyed so much. Highly recommended!
