Specifically went here for the Detroit style pizza and it did not disappoint. Ordered 3 appetizers (meatballs, cheese curds and buffalo fries) and all of them were fantastic! The garlic cheese curds were my favorite. They were so crunchy. We ordered three pizzas and lemon pepper chicken strips. The pizzas were so good. The Ayy Ayyy pizza had pepperoni and jalapeños and drizzled with ranch. It was sooo delicious. The chicken strips were just okay. But we didn't go there for those so I wasn't disappointed. The waiter was nice but he was the only one there and the place was hopping so the service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us. A really interesting little place to eat. Some interesting decor if you take the time to really look around. The chicken wings are some of the best I've ever had. The Detroit-style pizza was very good with generous toppings. The size was about right for 1-2 people. The funnel cake cheese curds were a major disappointment. Don't waste your money on them. I heard about this place from a coworker that had stumbled across this little gem and raved about the pizza. They weren't wrong! You wouldn't think a Detroit style pizza would be so good from a little bar in downtown El Paso, but boy was it delicious! I ordered mine "El Sancho" which had a little spice to it but ate 3/4 of it so portions are great! The service was also really good. The bartender was tending to the bar and helping with tables as well as another server. I really like the dive bar feel as well. Safe to say I will be coming back again on my next trip! read more

Been to this place a couple of times already. Decided to add to my reviews. Place itself is such a cool atmosphere. Pictures and artwork are everywhere. Heading to the restroom you can find a different picture or funny artwork each time. Service is always the best. Always the "Hey!!" As soon as we walked in everyone in there yelled "heyyyyy" not sure if that's a normal thing but it continued the whole time we were there and we joined in on it. We headed for lunch last week. My first visit here was as part of a Downtown Restaurant Tour a while back, where they served us fries. I was not impressed but am a firm believer of trying things more than once to give it a chance. So on this visit I tried the La Bang Bang pizza which I had heard about. I am glad I called it in earlier because there was a lot of people there during lunchtime. The pizza, to me, was not good, but that may just be my personal taste. To my dismay, I tend to be particular to thin crust gourmet type of pizzas with lots of veggies. My "system" is sensitive to lots of grease, salt, and cheese-must be old age. I was only able to eat a quarter of it but I recommend everyone try it for themselves. The service was nice but overworked, she did a great job. The place has black walls which makes it feel dark inside. I have to remember its a nightclub too. Prices were good. I am very happy they seem to be having lots of tragic and success. I've been to La Bang Bang several times, and it's always a highlight! It's located downtown El Paso, just walking distance from the El Paso County Courthouse. I usually park a few blocks away, bring some change for the meter, and enjoy the short walk over. The atmosphere is superb dark and cozy, which feels so refreshing after all the El Paso sunlight. The bartenders and staff radiate positive energy, and you can tell they love what they do. The drink menu is both authentic and creative, with delicious cocktails that have clever names. The food menu is bar-style done right: wings, fresh salads, and the star of the show is the pizza. La Bang Bang's pan pizza is honestly the best I've ever had: perfectly cheesy, flavorful sauce, and every bite is major YUM. (Heads up: it does take about 45 minutes, but it's worth every second.) It's SEP 11, and they placed a large American flag outside and had a message board honoring military, first responders and all. Turns out, our guest this time, has known the owner for decades. The owner was there and just happened to come out and it was cool watching them reconnect and reminisce - plus as a Yelper, it's super cool getting to meet the owners. What a cool and humble guy. And +1 in my books, he's also a motorcycle and gun guy. Bikes, patriotism, guns, El Paso local, and best pizza in town?
