Looking for legal routes now. Background: Rudy Cools installed my HVAC system in July/August 2023. My main issue was that my previous system was not keeping up with temperature when the hot outside reached above 92 F. I contacted them and asked if it was the system, the duct system, insulation issues or my windows, and they said a new system would fix the problem. I accepted and they sold me a new system. When installing they found mold within the system, so they recommended an air purification system to go along with the HVAC. Having a baby in the way I accepted no doubt to what I asked "if thats on the system, could that be in the ducts as well?" to which they replied "we checked when installing and no issues were found, plus the purification system will prevent that" so I trusted that response. The next weeks the AC upstairs (Damper system) was not functioning and temperatures were reaching as high as 90F inside the second floor. I reached out, they sent a technician to tell me it would be an additional $1.5K to fix. I call them very angry as they never mentioned that and this should have been resolved when installed. They agree and send a crew the next week to fix without a cost. I liked that. It was September/Oct already so heat went down and AC didnt need to work so hard so no issues there. In summer of 2024 the HVAC system could not keep up with temperatures over 92 F - which was my main issue to start with. I called them several times, they sent 3-4 different technicians that tried filing up the gas in the system, switching stuff, or just simply telling me "it was too hot outside and that wsa the issue". After dealing with that all summer I was fed with that and call them angry again, to what they told me "we will send the best technician we have" and they did. This super technician came and told me the duct system was not set up properly, and needed to be updated, with a price tag of $1.5K. I called them angry again since that was my question to begin with when quoting them for a system, and have been ghosted ever since. Its been 3 months now. On a separate story, my family and I have been having health issues without explanation. We did some mold testing here and there with negatives coming up, only to look into one of the ducts directly connected to the system and finding a goooood ole black mold colony hiding in there - even when having a air purification system, and having the installing team they saw nothing when installing. So not only they have costed me 1.5 summers with the same issue I originally had, $13-14k in costs, Health issues for me, my wife and my baby, but they also are now ghosting me and refusing to answer my emails or calls. This for me is as evil as it gets, and should not be even considered within your options for any type of services. Disgusting client service and should be held liable - which we are in the process of.

Before leaving, he…read moreinformed both my sister and me that he was unable to fully assess the systems due to the extreme heat and suggested that we contact him if there were any issues. At that time, the air conditioning inside the home was working. Shortly afterward, we both left the property because our family member, who owns the home, had been hospitalized after suffering a stroke. I returned to the home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and discovered significant water leaking from the ceiling. Initially, I assumed the damage was related to the heavy rainstorms that occurred on July 5 and July 9. A locksmith who was at the home asked whether the leak might be coming from the HVAC system, but at that point I did not believe it was. I immediately contacted a roofing company, and they arrived the same evening. Although they found some roof-related issues, they determined that the major leak causing water to pour onto the floor and actively leak from the ceiling was located directly beneath the HVAC unit. I was informed that the HVAC drain line could be clogged and that, if the unit had not been properly inspected and cleared during servicing, condensation could have accumulated and caused substantial water damage. I immediately contacted Chris. He stated that he could not return for two days and came back on Saturday, July 11, 2026. After I explained the situation, he advised that he had fixed the issue. However, when the roofers returned, they found additional water damage and active leaking. By that time, the ceiling had become saturated and was beginning to collapse, requiring portions of it to be cut out and removed. Chris then stated: (1) that he could not come out that day, (2) that he was only there to fix the air conditioning and that it was working with no water issues when he left, and (3) that he had completed the job several weeks earlier. These statements were concerning because he had actually serviced the units only four days before I returned to the property and because he had specifically told both my sister and me that he would need to come back and complete additional checks that he was unable to perform on July 4. It is important to note that I do not live in this home, and the homeowner remains hospitalized following a stroke. I paid Chris $600 to service two HVAC systems. As a result of this experience, I have been left dealing with missing ceilings, water-damaged flooring, and thousands of dollars in repairs. I subsequently contacted another HVAC professional who expressed shock that the drain lines and potential clogs had not been thoroughly inspected. What began as a routine service call turned into an emergency situation that resulted in extensive property damage. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and strongly encourage others to seek a licensed, thorough, and professional HVAC service provider. RUN!!! out of thousands of dollars and no way to explain this to my friend in the hospital...

We had to replace our 112-year-old foundation. This was a huge, four-month-long project. To begin, we had to have our blowers moved out of the way for the duration of the work. Then, once the foundation was complete, we had to re-install them. When calling to remove the units in December 2021, I got an appointment for two days later. The two-man crew showed up early, removed the units, and were finished in less than two hours. I didn't suspect anything had changed with their service. In fact, the crew said I wasn't going to be billed until I reconnected the units. I was happy about that since the foundation work was extremely expensive! When removing the blowers, the R22 refrigerant must be collected and stored, since it's harmful to the environment. This refrigerant is worth more than $400 per pound in 2022 since it is no longer produced, and most units built prior to 2020 still need it for cooling. Fast forward four months. I called to schedule the reconnection. It took several weeks to get a call back to schedule a time for the work. After getting the first appointment, it was canceled two days later. After another week of calling back for a reschedule, I was put on for the following week. When four techs arrived, they said the ground was too soft to do the service then, they wanted to wait another two weeks. When the crew finally returned to re-install the units, I was happy I have Ring cameras all around the house, and inside too. One member was taking as many as five smoke breaks an hour (see attached images). The other was a slow mover and liked to take air-conditioned breaks in the van. Seven hours later the units were reinstalled, and we had cool air again! I was disappointed it took so long to get the reinstallation scheduled but was ok with the amount of time it took two people to reconnect, recharge, and get the units up and running again. Until I saw the bill. $2,414.00. There was only a single line item: "Remove outside units and reinstall". Even if you ignore the smoke breaks, phone calls, and air-conditioned breaks and assume they worked all 9 hours. That's $268.22 an hour for labor. Not to mention, that $2,400 would have been a significant down payment towards a new more efficient, and environmentally friendly system. When I called for an explanation, I never heard back. It's been almost a month of radio silence from them. I must wonder if the delay on reinstall was due to the value of the refrigerant that was reclaimed from my two systems. In the two systems, there were about 24 pounds of refrigerant. $9,600 is a great deal of money. When I started calling other HVAC companies to re-install my units, I would have had to buy that refrigerant to re-fill the systems. That's why I ultimately waited on G&S to complete the work.
