Aire Serv installed our HVAC system quickly and cleaned up after themselves (you'd be surprised at…read moresome of these places...). They had a great rate, communicated well, & even submitted a rebate for us with Duke. The system they installed is super efficient. We've used it for both heat and A/C already, and both work quickly and well. I recommend them if you need repair, maintenance, or a replacement.

Update: I do still believe that everyone should do their own research on repairs and pricing, and I…read morewas not happy with the pricing/clarity from Aire Serv. However, I was impressed that the owner personally reached out and addressed the issues head-on, without deflecting or being derogatory; frankly, that level of humanity is not common anymore, and I felt that warranted a change in the review level from "negative" to "neutral". I left the previous comments to give context to the owner's reply, but would also point out that anyone who takes the time to respond to a dissatisfied customer in a professional manner, deserves consideration. As always, I encourage everyone to do their own research, and to carefully consider their options for any work they order done. That being said, I would also encourage anyone to be very careful with Aire Serv. The technician was on time and did his inspection appropriately; otherwise, I would indicate this business did not warrant even one star. The tech indicated a part replacement was needed, and that the unofficial estimate was around $1000. He also indicated he had just done one, that came in around $700. I mentioned that the unit would probably need an additional part eventually, and I asked him to give me a differential quote if that were done as well. Here's where things get dicey. Either the company is insanely greedy, or inept, neither being a good reference. The estimate sent to me was well over TRIPLE what his previous repair had been. I know, Aire Serv will complain that "all units are different" and "all parts costs are variable". That's true, but i have two rebuttals: 1) your technician is the one who offered the information. 2) I called *multiple dealers* who were all mystified by the amount on the quote I received. No amount of Aire Serv "quality" justifies that kind of mark-up. I have examined the estimate a dozen times; it specifically states it is only for the initial part, not both. Why does this matter? Because the company that received my patronage did quality work, was responsive, and was 1/3 cheaper. Not a few bucks, but a THIRD. I don't know about you, but that's a lot of money in this economy. Was it a mistake? Possibly. But even in that case, whoever wrote up the estimate didn't check it or do it correctly. It has been said that if a vehicle is built on a Monday or Friday, they tend to have less attention to detail and care in the process. You may think that's fine and good- until you buy the vehicle that was built on a Monday or a Friday. While some customers have gone on record with good experiences and I may have had a "Monday or Friday" experience with Aire Serv, it ultimately doesn't matter: trust has been demolished. I gladly paid the diagnostic fee and washed my hands of this company. I wrote this review to share my experience and to say, whether home repair or anything else, never just accept what is offered. Ask questions, verify parts and prices, and decide what you think is fair and reasonable. Don't get "Aire-Served".

We had to replace our 112-year-old foundation. This was a huge, four-month-long project. To begin, we had to have our blowers moved out of the way for the duration of the work. Then, once the foundation was complete, we had to re-install them. When calling to remove the units in December 2021, I got an appointment for two days later. The two-man crew showed up early, removed the units, and were finished in less than two hours. I didn't suspect anything had changed with their service. In fact, the crew said I wasn't going to be billed until I reconnected the units. I was happy about that since the foundation work was extremely expensive! When removing the blowers, the R22 refrigerant must be collected and stored, since it's harmful to the environment. This refrigerant is worth more than $400 per pound in 2022 since it is no longer produced, and most units built prior to 2020 still need it for cooling. Fast forward four months. I called to schedule the reconnection. It took several weeks to get a call back to schedule a time for the work. After getting the first appointment, it was canceled two days later. After another week of calling back for a reschedule, I was put on for the following week. When four techs arrived, they said the ground was too soft to do the service then, they wanted to wait another two weeks. When the crew finally returned to re-install the units, I was happy I have Ring cameras all around the house, and inside too. One member was taking as many as five smoke breaks an hour (see attached images). The other was a slow mover and liked to take air-conditioned breaks in the van. Seven hours later the units were reinstalled, and we had cool air again! I was disappointed it took so long to get the reinstallation scheduled but was ok with the amount of time it took two people to reconnect, recharge, and get the units up and running again. Until I saw the bill. $2,414.00. There was only a single line item: "Remove outside units and reinstall". Even if you ignore the smoke breaks, phone calls, and air-conditioned breaks and assume they worked all 9 hours. That's $268.22 an hour for labor. Not to mention, that $2,400 would have been a significant down payment towards a new more efficient, and environmentally friendly system. When I called for an explanation, I never heard back. It's been almost a month of radio silence from them. I must wonder if the delay on reinstall was due to the value of the refrigerant that was reclaimed from my two systems. In the two systems, there were about 24 pounds of refrigerant. $9,600 is a great deal of money. When I started calling other HVAC companies to re-install my units, I would have had to buy that refrigerant to re-fill the systems. That's why I ultimately waited on G&S to complete the work.
