Leaving four different appointments with an unresolved AC issue. Unreal. The tech came in pointed the laser at the duct and saw it was not working. The said that the compressor he just replaced was "backing up". And it wasn't working. This stated at 9 in tbe morning and at 4 he said this. Then he left. Only to leave a message w the tenant supervisor that I should run it with the windows close for an hour and it should work. Right. I knew what that meant. Still no AC. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Be aware. read more

Very expensive. $330.00 to change a capacitor. $140 for diagnostic visit which is reasonable but any repairs are very expensive.

Outstanding work. Very professional crew. Samuel, Joseph, Ramon are top rated installation personnel. All work done in no time at all. Left all clean. Thanks again. read more

I had my HVAC and ducting replaced. The owner actually came out for my estimate. He was the most honest and knowledgeable, in my opinion, out of 7 companies. Also one of the best prices. The team that came out were very knowledgeable, and friendly. It was also refreshing to see workers getting along together so well. read more

i would highly recommend this company. They listen to their clients, are trustworthy, respectful of your property, and do a great job. I called Arctic Air because I believed I had a clogged drain on my AC split unit. I was given a 8-10am window when they would arrive and he arrived right on time at 8am. The technician Jesus listened to my concerns about a clogged drain line and he said based on what he heard and could see in my unit that it was likely the correct diagnosis. He cleared the drain and was very respectful of the property. He was very friendly and offered ideas on how to prevent the issue in the future. The prices were fair and I did not feel like I was being bamboozled. read more

Our Homeowners Warranty Co. subcontracted our job to another company (Atlas HVAC) to install a new condenser for us and to seal our ducts in the attic. What a disaster - Atlas never sealed the ducts and we were essentially air conditioning our ATTIC instead of our house. They refused to come back to seal the ducts, so we had to hire another company to seal the ducts. Fortunately, we found Arctic Air! They sent Mr. Jeryl Jones out the next day. Jeryl not only sealed every duct in our attic, he also went above and beyond to fix some other things he noticed (i.e. our a/c vents were installed upside down, so he got on a ladder and reversed them so that the air would flow down on us, not up to the ceiling, etc. ) We are so impressed with Jeryl and with Arctic Air. I highly recommend them - their prices were very reasonable, and their customer service and expertise were excellent. If we need a/c done in the future, I will only call them. They're the best! read more

Gave came out to diagnose the air conditioner, the technician climbed up to the roof, within an hour he replaced the damaged capacitor that needed replacing and we had working air again. Easy. read more

Great guys. Met Emerson and Art. Had an issue w my furnace that was misdiagnosed by x2 other companies. Finally Art correctly diagnosed it as a simple electrical issue, and saved me a bucket of $$$, and a lot of headache. My new HVAC guys. read more

This is the second time we have used Artic Air to handle our AC needs. The office staff is awesome- helpful, polite, and prompt in scheduling an appt. Richard came and did an excellent job of solving our problem quickly and at a price that was much less than competitors estimates. The entire experience is SO much better than other AC contractors that we have worked with! Jerry D. read more

Excellent team headed by Art. I'd received wild estimates for a new installation of a 4-unit system for my townhouse - several others recommended tearing through walls, moving equipment, new electrical and all kind of crazy things. Art came for a walk-through/estimate - took great care and time, even going through some difficult to access areas, and was a brilliant problem-solver. He has great energy and a top-notch consumer-friendly attitude; that approach carries onto his team which was also outstanding. The installation itself was seamless and the overall cost extremely reasonable. Art is possibly the best contractor I've ever worked with period. Thank you! read more

I called Artic Air on 8/16 regarding an issue with our central air and they told me they'd have someone out within a few hours. Hector showed up on time and quickly identified the problem (a capacitor needing to be replaced) and made the repair in a timely manner. He took the time to explain the different parts of the system and answer questions I had. In a period of time where lots of companies are making excuses about customer service & staffing levels Artic Air exceeded my expectations and I'm thrilled to leave a positive review about a local company. Highly recommend them for anyone in Poway and ask if Hector is available. read more

These are very professional and friendly vendors I used for a 30 unit apartment complex in Poway. They were always responsive and answered all my questions thoroughly. The residents never had a complaint and were always grateful for their promptness and attention to detail. Thank you! read more

Art and team installed our AC unit a few years ago and are our go to guys for any maintenance requests or repairs. They have always been very reliable, transparent and reasonable. We've had a very positive experience with Arctic Air. read more

Art and his staff went above and beyond! I had been dealing with an AC issue for a few years and have spoken with four different HVAC companies who all had different suggestions. Art took it upon himself to find the issue (a leak in the walls of our condo complex) and correct it. He then corrected an issue I had with a previously hired HVAC company that my home warranty sent out. I had to replace a condenser but it was no fault of Art and Arctic Air. My home warranty company used a company from El Centro to replace my condenser but they didn't have the knowledge to know that the compressor they installed was far too large for my condo and for the air handler. Art even offered to sell the other air condenser for me to help recoup some of the costs I incurred before. Thank you Art and company for a job well done! read more

This company is one of the best! They are reliable, reasonable, trustworthy, prompt and courteous! What more can I say? Hire them!!!!

We've used this company twice now, and both times we have been completely satisfied. We first used Arctic Air last year when we noticed our AC unit started leaking. Our unit is probably 16 years old, and our worst fear was that we would have to spend the big bucks to buy a completely new one. We called Arctic Air and within a few days, Dan came and saved the day. He serviced our unit, and fixed the water drainage system. Our actual AC unit didn't need any repairs and in fact, after he serviced it, he said it was good for a few more years. No terrible upsell here, and the hard upsell is my ultimate pet peeve. We paid a few dollars for a part, and around $150 for the labor and we were good to go. Dan was professional and friendly, all the while giving us good tips on how to make our AC unit last even longer. Fast forward a year later, and we called Arctic Air for our yearly summer preventative maintenance (which we never had prior to our visit last year). This time, the owner, Art, came. He was with another guy, whom it seemed was new to the company. They were both amazing, and again, super informative. They changed the filter, and cleaned and serviced our unit. They even took a look at the new Nest thermostat that my husband installed, and gave him a few tips. Their PM service costs $80 for the summer, and $80 for the winter, but is well worth it. They've given new life to our 16 year old unit, and to me, that's a real bargain. When it's time to replace it, there is no other company we would call. read more

Art and his crew did a great job on our complex residential HVAC project. They replaced all ducting and cleaned and sealed the system and got it running in tip top condition, providing clean, fresh, and balanced airflow to all areas of the home. Art is an excellent communicator and helped us navigate issues as they came up. We are very happy with the results. Always a pleasure to work with him! read more

Great service. They came to fix a leak for me. It was a iterative process to locate and fix the leak. The guy was very committed and always came without asking for any additional $$ (the original ask was very competitive too). Would strongly recommend Arthur. read more

I wish I could give more stars! The best customer service I've ever had. You want a quick response when you're AC is not working in the summer and Arctic Air gives you just that. Professional, prompt and fairly priced. Don't even consider anyone else! read more

Just had Art and his crew out to do routine pre-summer maintenance on our home HVAC systems. Art also came out in the fall to check our heaters and get us ready for the winter. I really appreciate the preventative maintenance plan they offer. It is affordable and it offers me the peace of mind that everything is ready to go when the next heat-wave hits. These guys are efficient and do an excellent job explaining what needs to be done (if you're interested in that stuff like I am). Art also took the time to consult with me when I asked lots of questions about upgrading my ancient system. I have recommended Arctic Air to several of my clients and colleagues. Everyone has been very pleased. It is nice to have an HVAC contractor I can trust! read more

Of course, during the great heat wave of 2018, my rental condo's AC decided it didn't want to work anymore. I left a message with Arctic Air and Art was able to get back to me very quickly. I was very happy that I went with them for several reasons. 1- A gap opened in their schedule for an earlier day and I was contacted to see if I wanted it. Unfortunately that day didn't work for my tenant, but I appreciated the consideration. 2- Technician arrived on time!! My tenant had only nice things to say and was very happy at how quickly the job was taken care of. 3- Easy to work with. Because this was a rental property, I didn't want the hassle of going over there just to deal with this. They really worked with me and made my life so much easier. 4- Lastly, and most importantly, I thought they seemed very honest and weren't trying to upsell me. I had some questions about other maintenance related aspects of my AC unit. Instead of feeding into my paranoia, I was given very honest answers about what I need to worry about vs. what wasn't worth doing just quite yet. Definitely will use again if I have any future issues. read more

I just had my AC fixed by Artic Air and I am very pleased. Art did a great job. I recommended him 100%.

Art came out to investigate a problem with our air conditioning on the same day that we asked! His team diagnosed the problem, fixed the situation and got us back up and running with cold air in no time, and the prices were very reasonable. Also, they were very professional, pleasant and explained everything. I would definitely use the service again, and we may use them for our maintenance in the future, such as annual HVAC check ups. read more

Art is an exceptional HVAC technician. I had an issue with refrigerant charge and was in dire need of a tech to respond. Art swung by, diagnosed the issue, and repaired the unit. I was able to get the air back on for my family in less than two hours. Additionally he treated me like family and showed true care when explaining the issue. He is an honest technician and did an outstanding job. So much so that I hired him as my primary HVAC maintenance technician for our FAA facility. Honest and outstanding service. read more

I have used them in the past and my experience was good, but not this time. My tenant thermostat was working only she could not read the temp. I called them to change a thermostat, the thermostat itself cost $54, I was charged a total of $317.60 for a twenty minutes of work. When I talked to Art I was not given a satisfactory explanation. The heater itself had no problem, because few days earlier my tenant called SDG&E to come in and start the heater. I looked through my old invoices and I was charged $112 for changing a thermostat back in 2012. I will not use them again read more

My AC went out as the Thermostat had a "Wait" notification that never went away and the air would not turn on. I called Arctic Air, explained the problem and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Art arrived right on time. He explained everything he was looking for while trying to diagnose the problem. He fixed the air conditioning. Two days later, we had the same problem occur. He sent one of his guys out who fixed the problem again at no additional fee. The AC has been working great ever since. I would definitely recommend Arctic air and support the local businessman. read more

I am a former employee of Arctic Air. The only reason i no longer work there is we moved to the east coast. I have been in the HVAC trade for 19 years all of which were working in San Diego county. I have worked for various companies both big and small. I can honestly say that Arctic Air was the best. Art is the owner and the best boss i have ever had. He loves his family, cares about everyone and treats everyone with kindness and respect. He instills a great working environment. He treats customers with decency. His prices are well below most of your name brand HVAC companies and he delivers well above his price point. Art is a man of integrity and he expects his employees to be of the same ilk. Arctic Air delivers high quality work and knowledgeable technicians. Its not good enough until its done right. That is how Arctic Air does things. I am a very OCD type person. I have and always will do things the right way. Most companies ive worked for do things the least expensive way. You as a customer dont know these things. To you if it blows hot air or cold air its fine. That is most definitely not the case. To do things right you have to know various factors and how HVAC systems operate. The longevity and reliability of your system come from doing things the right way. Proper duct sizing, location of air registers, load calculations, proper refrigerant line sizing etc etc. This is how Arctic Air looks at each and every job. I was not asked to write this, i feel compelled to write this cause i miss working there. read more

Art and Emerson were so efficient and came out so quickly when I needed my AC fixed in the hottest of summer. Would recommend them any day! read more

Arctic Air was one of the few HVAC repair companies that would even answer their phone during these hot summer days. Luckily they were even available next day whereas most others were weeks away from having any spots. Called the next day to move the appointment UP from 1-3PM to 9-10AM which was great for me. The tech arrived promptly at 9am and within the hour had identified and fixed the issue. Cool air is flowing again. Prices were reasonable as well especially on quick turnaround when I know they are slammed with AC problems. Have used in the past on a really old unit (since have newer) and they have never disappointed. Would definitely recommend and use again. read more

Due to a remodel we have two AC/Furnace units in our home. One went out a few months ago and we finally got around to having someone come on on Monday to fix it. Don from Arctic was efficient and provided great customer service. He took care of the problem and was on his way. Coincidentally the second unit developed problems yesterday, totally unrelated to the first. So we called Arctic Air again this morning. They were so fast and responsive. They had Jeryl out to our house early this afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it and was on his way. And it was more affordable than I had feared! He was friendly and efficient and also provided great customer service. After two separate services calls in one week, I would happily recommend Arctic Air! read more

Our home did not have air & I couldn't go another summer without it. We acquired many quotes & after many calls back & forth with many, many questions, we decided to go with Art @ Arctic Air. His quote included permit, HERS testing & the city also came out to make sure it was done properly. Other companies that had quotes close to Art's did not include these tests or permit from the city & when I asked them if it was included in the quote, the price climbed thousands. They hadn't intended to do it right, just wanted the contract to slap down a new unit & be on their way. I recently had SDG&E out to suggest areas where we could save on our electric bill. He suggested that we have our air/heating ducts checked to insure they weren't leaking. I explained that we had a new air conditioning unit, heater & duct work installed less than a month ago & had the HERS testing done at that time & that the City had also come out. He was very impressed & asked if that was included in my quote from Arctic Air or were they additional charges. When I told him it was all in the original quote, he was surprised & raised eyebrows. When he told me; "You received top of the line service from them." It made me even happier (if that was possible) that we had chosen Arctic Air to do our installation. I highly recommend Arctic Air for any of your Air/Heating needs. Whether it's servicing, replacing or installing a whole new unit, they can fix you up & leave you with a smile on your face. Art & his employees are honest, knowledgeable, hard working, trustworthy (we left them at the house & went to run errands & never worried once) & the pricing is great with no extra bells & whistles that we didn't need. We are more than pleased with everything they did for us & I'm sure that you will be a satisfied customer as well. read more

We had gotten two estimates to replace the furnace but I still had some questions. I asked my neighborhood information group and Arctic Air was highly recommended. I was impressed by the reviews on yelp. I called yesterday and they've already been here and gone. Courteous, on time and saving us money. Many thanks! read more

Great service and very quick to respond, which is especially important during a heat wave! After calling a few other places, only to get their answering machine, I then called Arctic Air and the Owner answered my call on the first ring! Now that is service! Great service. I called Arctic Air for a quote for repairs needed to our condenser unit in the attic. They provided a reasonable quote, came out quickly and got the job done. Great service, called today and they had a tech in my area who stopped by, fixed furnace... done for the price of a service call. Thank you.

Art went above and beyond for us in regards to saving my son money on equipment and labor costs. Was there for us from the first meeting for an estimate and through the installation process. Very reasonable in his charges. Will definitely keep him in mind for future work. Went out of his way to accommodate us in choice of equipment and on-time work. read more

Art & his team from Arctic Air were very prompt & professional. We had 4 A/C & heat mini-splits installed in our home. Art gave us an estimate that that job would take about 3 days. It took 3 1/2. I would recommend this company to anyone thinking about an A/C or heat upgrade. Thanks Art & team! read more
