Depending on where you live, it's definitely quite a long drive to the Arc'teryx Factory store. I've been here twice total and each time I'm amazed at how long the queue can be, even on a weekday. People must love the brand enough to make the trek out to North Van. Per the staff, it's better to not arrive during opening hour as there is usually a queue. There is ample parking spots outside the store; however, depending on the time you arrive, you may need to wait for a spot. There is quite a good selection at the Factory store; however, as I'm not well versed in the brand, I can't comment on how good the selection is. I bought two parkas here at 30%+ discount. I have been an arc'teryx believer for a long time I just bought the Jacket last year and I start wearing this Jacket the month of March and April so wear and tear as you saying is kind of silly. I bought a Practitioner Hoody and loved it so much until I washed it as per instructions. The stitching shunk and the hoody doesn't fit the same way any longer. It's shorter and bulkier. I brought the hoody to the outlet store where I purchased it from, but they referred me to the online customer service. Dealing with customer service was a nightmare. Many emails with photos back and forth only resulted in me being blamed for NOT putting the hoody in the dryer after washing it, which would have resulted in further shrinkage. The fabric and lining was just fine. Only the stitching shrunk. Finally I had to ship the hoody to the outlet store for assessment. Full circle! The result: I was told that there is nothing wrong with my hoody and it will be shipped back to me.  It's just so sad and disappointing that Arc'teryx has gone downhill so much that they don't stand behind their product and point the finger back at the customer. I know I am not the only one noticing the difference since the company changed hands. All my ski and hiking gear is from Arc'teryx.  I'm happy with the rest of the products but will shop at Patagonia and OR from now on. read more

I was stopped right at the entrance for wearing a small daypack, and was asked to leave it in one of their lockers. No biggie. But as far as outlet stores go, this is one of the least exciting in town. Unless they have a special promotion, i.e. additional discount off marked prices, it's not really worth the trip. That is except 1) you're on the way to Deep Cove anyway, or 2) you're from Asia, where Arc'teryx sells for even more ridiculous prices. I went to the outlet factory store in North Vancouver - very unimpressed - Very disappointed as I thought there would be a better selection. - Factory seconds with 'issues' are same price as products in the same line that were not (no extra discount) - will not allow you to try on Gore Tex jackets in changing room (funny how in the Burrard store they do) - Asked about warranty and advised by retail staff that's it's a case by case basis (I thought warranty would be more like Lululemon's, as they are similar price points) - Not very good discounts - I was looking for 50% off many jackets only offer $80 - $150 I think I'm going to look at MEC own brand products - cheaper and a good warranty. Alternatively, I will head to the North Face outlet in Richmond as I've purchased NF products and I know they last. I'm not in this corner of the lower mainland often, but I make the trip to check out the end-of-season sales (sign up for their emails to find out about them). I have come a few times, and have taken home functional, yay clothing -- especially the really thin but warm sweater (thin wool), and the almost indestructible and fast-drying shorts my husband uses for work. But the fifth star was sealed by the backpack I got this time. I've been casually looking out for a hiking backpack, and I got one this time! A "Briza 62". 60% off. I could only look at it quickly at the sale, but was wondering why the top flap "hinge" was also made of clasps. Why would someone want to use the pack without the lid? But then, upon closer inspection at home, I realized that the top comes off so that it can be used as a day-pack! The wide belt is comfortable for use as a messenger-type diagonal bag, or a waist pack. I love it!!! I can finally get rid of the old purse I've been using for day trips while camping. The bag has more features than I was expecting. That will come in handy when I'm travelling non-hikingly and want to put some pencil skirts in there (it has a flat zipped compartment in the back of the separate sleeping bag compartment). One thing about buying at the end-of-season sale: There is no warranty. Oh well. read more

I've been thinking about buying a goretex jacket for a while now, and finally made it to the outlet after several recommendations. This coat is a significant investment considering the costs involved, and I want to research brands and options thoroughly before making my decision. Upon arriving, I was promptly asked to check my backpack at the door after which I received no offers of assistance for the duration of my visit. After browsing the racks, I found no goretex jackets for less than $300, which happens to be the exact price I've seen in REI, Sportchek, as well as other West Broadway outdoor shops. I do believe in paying for quality, however, as anyone who has studied economics will recall, there is something called the law of diminishing returns. For example, a north face jacket is of considerably higher quality than a wal-mart jacket, but a arterex jacket will be only marginally better than the north face jacket. (The jump in quality is significant to a point, beyond which no matter how much you are willing to pay, the quality will no longer increase) I left feeling disappointed. I somehow expected that a 'factory outlet' would offer more significant savings on their very expensive products. Before leaving, I mentioned the pricing to one of the employees to which I was informed that the jacket I was looking at retailed for $550. With no justification for that amount, the implication being that I should be glad it now cost $299. I will never buy Arc'teryx probably for the same reason I'll never buy Lululemon, or Burberry, or Armani. I do think they're all very nice, but to me not worth the price being asked. I am going to look at MEC. Not every product they sell will be the pinnacle of quality, but I've been happy with almost everything I've ever bought there. The warranty is the best you'll find. I've had backpacks break 2 years after buying, and they replaced it on the spot. If you buy anything from them, either it works great, or they'll replace/refund it for years afterward. read more

Holy hell this store is getting popular. And not in a good way. Prices have gone up, and items I bought last year for $20 are now $30. For the same damn thing in the same colour. Their sale events don't actually change the price of anything put out for sale, either. They just bring more stock out. So if you want to avoid the massive lines which have started to accumulate over the past year and a half, just go another day. So unless you find your size runs out fast, don't bother standing in line for hours. That said, I still love their stuff. read more

This place was a little hard to find. If you aren't a local, this place is definitely off the beaten tourist path. It is located a little north of Vancouver city-center. It took us about 30 minutes to get to. Still we decided to come because we heard about the awesome deals. We waited in line for about 40 minutes to get in (it was Boxing Day). It was definitely not very fun to wait in 35 degree weather with light drizzle. Yet we still waited. It appeared orderly since they allowed a select amount of people to enter, corresponding to the amount of people that left. Inside, it was chaotic. Jackets were all over the place. People rushed to grab the jackets in their sizes. It didn't matter if you were in their way, they still shoved to get their item. Forget about decorum and manners, people were pretty aggressive. The store clerks were pretty nice and answered any questions we had. The store is very small so the selections are very limited. Expect the sizing to run either really large or small. If you're a XL in men's clothing size, this will be your treasure chest in finding a jacket. There were far less mediums/larges. The jackets were also in funky colors like bright yellow, green, and orange. There were less black/blue/white jackets. The deal wasn't that great either. We asked if it was severely discounted for Boxing Day and the guy said that it was. Jackets were still $200-$600. The jackets that were in black/blue colors and better material were at least $500 (not including tax). You can just wait for a REI sale in the U.S. and buy a Arc'teryx jacket. That way, you can avoid the crowds and massive lines. read more

Came for a short visit to just see if there are any good deals although I didn't need anything. The store is clean and well organized. If you happen to be the right size for the items they have in the store, there are some good deals, for example, I saw some nice hiking pants for more than 50% off, but sizes available seem to be only 8+. On other items, the discounts are less than what I'd see on REI/Backcountry/Moosejaw etc so not really worth a trip here. read more

Arc'teryx completely replaced my front zipper and reglued some seams (Arc'teryx uses glue to bind certain interior seams for their jackets!) for my 11 year old Arc'teryx Alpha SV jacket which came with a lifetime warranty. Arc'teryx does cares about their products as the waterproof zipper on my jacket was useable (zips up and down), but it didn't look brand new - it had some noticable fraying after over a decade of use. My jacket was not purchased at the North Vancouver outlet store, but I had communicate with Arc'teryx North Vancouver and they directed me to Arc'teryx Burnaby for the repair. The warranty staff at Arc'teryx Burnaby were excellent and they listened to all of my concerns in person. I just pointed out what was wrong with my jacket and it was approved for repair within a few minutes of inspection by Devon from Warranty. It took over 2 weeks for the repair, but they did an excellent job and the exterior of my jacket looks like it's brand new again. Lifetime warranty gives me peace of mind, but if you're someone who likes to buy something new within a few years, then Arc'teryx North Vancouver outlet is a good choice for lower priced products with NO warranty or refunds. read more

It's tough to find stuff that fits well as a large male. They have some decent selection options of sports equipment and jackets but it's hit or miss in terms of what you can find. Staff is friendly but not intrusive. For an 'outlet' store, prices are way too high in my opinion, and those sales they have going on are inflated in the first place. Quality it is. The outlet store is a destination for all of my friends going through Vancouver. They always find something whether they need it or not, funny the way a sale grabs people. I watch much more astutely as I visit about once a month and hit both the spring and fall sales, why pay retail when you can pay wholesale. Now if an Easyrider in L Black would show up to replace the worn-out one I have used for 6 years I would be happy, the olive green just doesn't cut it. read more

Ok, so I must revise my review. I had brought my pants in to a location on Queen W. Toronto and they sent them back to main office for review. They in turn sent me a new pair, (black). These appear to be holding up much better. So... overall I say the high price was worth it for me, since they stood behind their product. I love Arc'teryx stuff and this place is the only place that offers them at a slightly more affordable price. I believe they are still a Canadian company, but they do not produce their products in Canada anymore therefore you'll see a lot of the newer products that'll say "Made In China" or where ever it is cheaper to produce. If so Arc'teryx, why haven't the price come down since it's being out sourced from cheaper labour?? Some one just purchased a new yacht! They do claim to have the same quality and workmanship as the products produces here and I do agree. I do love the quality, durability, and design of more of their products. They offer factory seconds here at this locations so there are no exchanges nor refunds. SO MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ITEM CAREFULLY!!!!! There might be some defects in items, but anything that's major, they'll have a card telling you where it is. Every so often, they do have their blowout sales (boxing day, end of winter sale, etc...), however most of the sale stuff is actually still on regular sale price and it's just fancy way to gather people to rummage through the remaining stock they have left. I'm the kind of guy that loves to shop in peace and quiet and they offer that here for me. The stuff are knowledgeable about the product and the store isn't that big that you'll need to chase after them. I can't complain about the quality or the service. This place rocks. Awesomely styled clothing; incredibly made. Service is friendly...very hands off, which I personally like. My main issues is with their sizes and prices. I have no idea who their fitting models are but I am suspecting they are emaciated waifs. If you are super petite or lean than you will have no problemo. If you are like me and are carrying even the slighest bit of "junk in the trunk" then finding something that works is a bit of a challenge. I'm not even talking super plus sized people...if you are normally a medium expect to be at least a large in the clothing, dont be surprised if you are XL. I don't know about outerwear line, the coats may fit differently. But as for the pants and tops they for sure have a super small fit. Like the previous reviewer, I also feel that the prices are bordering on obscene. I recognize it costs money to make quality but in some instances it is just plain highway robbery. Having said that this place is the facotry outlet. So look around and you may score a sweet deal...I got a pair of shorts that were regualr $85 for $9. Yes $9. SWEET! read more

Ok, I have to confess - I really like Arc'teryx products. I think they make some of the best raingear and outdoor clothing available. But normally the products are so expensive that they border on bad value. In comes the outlet store, where the prices are still expensive - but in line with retail of other brands. So you can get high quality Arc'teryx products for the same as you would pay for other brands in retail. If you like their products, this is definitely the way to go! They normally have a good selection, but it can be hit or miss depending on seasonal stocks, etc. They regularly have clearance sales where they bring more items and set up a tent outside and if you are signed up for their notices it is a good idea to show up on the first day because it is like watching ants on a pile of sugar devouring the deals! read more

i have bought numerous products from this company. i returned a jacket because it was too small. the package was signed for at the receiving dock. after a week of not hearing fron them, i called, only to find out that they had no product # for the return. no one from the compnay contacted me to inquire about this. i called a week later, only to find out, that when you return a product it could take up to 2 weeks to credit my account and that i would have to re-plaqce the order and pay again!...this seems like a realy bad way to conduct business. i will go back to buying MARMOT instead, in the future. I purchased an Arc'teryx Beta AR jacket last summer for use during the rainy months here in Seattle (all year). This was my first Arc'teryx purchase, and I'm thrilled with the jacket. The size large is a perfect fit for me - 6'3" 200lbs. The hood is very adjustable, great for use with a climbing helmet. I bought a down jacket for myself and my wife because of their reputation and I must say that I'm shocked that people spend so much for this junk! I lost count of how many feathers came out and it wasn't down. it was top layer crap. Plus the stitching near the elbow is falling apart.. I bought 3 pairs of these pants in July of 2012. After only wearing the one pair half a dozen times it is starting to develop holes in the outside of the pockets, the material in these pants are so thin. I called Arcteryx their reply you can send them in for valuation and it will be 8 weeks. 8 weeks to look at a defective pair of pants is past a joke. And then he states that he really doesn't think that it would be a warranty issue and would have to let me know what the charges would be to fix them. The pants are a rip off at any price but when you are paying a 100 dollars a pair you expect some decent quality. I read a complaint on how noisy they are and that statement is very true, that part does not really bother as much as the quality of their product. When buying these I thought they would of been made in the US but no they are just made in China like most inexpensive clothing. The only thing with these pants are they cheap in quality and you pay a premium for this junk. And their customer service has even less quality than the pants. BUYER BEWARE read more
