The bows they have for the intro classes are recurve bows and our instructor was Mike. It was easy to follow his instructions and I enjoyed the hour we had in class. They also offer 6 week beginner classes (also taught by Mike) so it's a good option if you'd like to continue and learn more skills. The only negative was that when we needed to reschedule our class to next week, the coach that was supposed to contact me never did so I had to call to get the makeup lesson scheduled for us.

Scheels is like a department store, Bass Pro shops, & a small cafe combined. Lol. Two levels of just everything you can imagine. Sports cards, memorabilias, grilling (the wall of bbq & meat seasonings!), camping gear, shooting gear, golf, fishing, athletics, jerseys, shoes, legos... they have a ferris wheel inside the building, a candy store, and a cafe serving snacks and small bites. Bass Pro and Cabela's are sporting good retailers that sell outdoor equipment for camping, hunting, fishing and other outdoor reactional activities. I am a big outdoor enthusiast and live next door to this Bass Pro Shop in Mesa. Most of my outdoor activities include camping, running, skiing and kayaking. Bass Pro Shops have been around for many years and recently acquired Cabela's. This Bass Pro Shop is called Outdoor World and has an aquarium, shooting gallery and animal displays. It adds to the fun of walking around these stores and gives you that feel that you are outside. The prices aren't anything special. But I like that you can find a lot of outdoor apparel and gear all in one stop. Bass Pro Shops supports conservation efforts throughout the U.S. The Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant that was here closed a few years ago.

During…read moremy visit, my mom was waiting in line to use the restroom along with several other customers when a mom and her child walked straight past everyone and cut through the entire line. It was extremely rude and disrespectful to everyone who had been patiently waiting their turn. What made the situation even worse was that no one from the store seemed to address it or manage the situation, even though the area was busy. Basic courtesy and respect for other customers should be expected in a public place, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. While the store itself may be popular, experiences like this leave a really negative impression. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with how the situation played out. I hope that some day, this issue gets addressed and resolved. Needless to say, I won't be coming back & would highly recommend staying away from this location.

I'm not one to usually write a review about sporting stores, I usually just review places I eat at…read more I would, however, like to write a very nice experience I had today around 12:30 - 1 PM ish when I had to find a new mug/tumbler to bring to my Krav Maga classes. There was quite a selection, and I was looking for a specific design so I looked for an employee who went through a lengthy process on the hunt for the tumbler I picked out. I unfortunately do not remember his name, but he had blonde hair I believe and was fairly tall compared to me lol. I have OCD, so I analyze every detail when I buy something. Or just everything in general. After he had recommended the Yeti Rambler and a few others, I ultimately decided on that one. This was when the probably most odd adventure at Dick's began of finding the tumbler color I liked that had the least amount of markings, dings, imperfections, etc. There were quite a few of that specific tumbler color, & it took a decent amount of time to finally decide on one. After pulling out every color of that size of mug I decided on, I narrowed it down to a few, but was still struggling due to some very minor markings I saw. I had asked for his help more than a few times to see if he could spot any markings on them and he crouched onto the floor with me, looking at them and pointing out what appeared to be the best option while I rotated the tumbler to look at it with the lighting at certain angles. Not only did this employee take the time and patience to help me, but went as far as getting me a wet and dry paper towel to see if a tiny dot of a smudge would wipe off -spoiler: it did indeed come off- but I really sincerely appreciate how understanding he was about the situation and how far he went to help me. I'd imagine a majority of people on this planet would go mad trying to help someone pick a tumbler for over an hour, but there was no judgment on his part and was very kind. I also left with an awesome tumbler thanks to him, and slightly embarrassed/guilty for the probably agonizing experience he had to go through lol, but still was very kind throughout all of it. Here is the "the chosen one" I have happily brought home!
