Xmas shopping

This place has a little bit of everything. I was actually surprised at some of the things they did have including an aisle dedicated to fishing equipment and even a few free weights lying around. I was there on Saturday and was looking around for some help but it was pretty busy so no worries. This place will get you buy in a pinch if you need a tennis racket or your kid needs a baseball glove quickly. They do offer some cool deals in the paper as well. I went in looking to do the $10 off $30 spent. I came in looking for one thing and they did have it. A weighted vest. Still deciding whether or not I will get it as there seems to be a better selection on Amazon. Will definitely be back for fishing supplies as this place will fulfill all your needs the next time you go up to Payson.

My favorite Big 5 store...helpful polite workers. I find something I want at a great price whenever I shop there. No problem with returns.

I got exactly what I wanted for cheaper then Amazon, because I used a 20% off coupon that was in the penny saver coupons.

Here are the reasons why they only get 3 stars: There's a woman that's worked here for the past 2+ years who initially offered to sign me up for an REI credit card, which would give me 1.5% to REI on my purchases and other perks like $100 REI credit or something, so I agreed. I've come in here fairly often to pick up supplies and she never seems to remember me, not that that matters, but I've had to return items like walking poles that were defective, and most recently, had to exhange out a possibly defective butane portable canister and each time, she's had to have a manager come suss out the situation. Probably it's store policy but I feel like in the last couple of years, their return policy isn't like before. They used to have a no questions asked policy, but these days, it feels like they scrutinize a lot more, probably a lot more people coming in. What was really annoying about the butane container exchange, which the manager did agree to, was the same woman who signed me up for the credit card, said I owed 67 cents or something. I thought I had no rewards since she said I owed money, so I then asked her about my REI credit card awards and I had over $240+ or something. Of course, I would use that! What's even more annoying is that she asked me a second time, are you Vivian? The first time was when she looked into my REI account to exchange out the butane canister and she asked if I was Vivian. No, I didn't have an imposter replace me between when her supervisor came to talk to me about the item and when she exchanged it out. Ugh, that was annoying. A few times I've had store workers help suggest items to me but feels like they don't really truly understand what I need. Awhile ago, I bought a pair of hiking boots and they just aren't really good, even though they are the top of the line French Lowa hiking boots. One thing you should know is that I definitely don't skimp on gear as I need and like high quality items for the outdoor things I do. I also bought a pair of Altra trail running shoes, and they also aren't the best shoes, so they've become my get dirty caving shoes. I was better off with an older pair of Pumas for my running needs. I recall coming in here to purchase a pair of base layer pants this past winter as I was headed to Europe and would partake in some skiing and recall the woman that helped me wasn't that nice as I asked her to take the pair I needed off the mannequin, it was the last pair of small they had. I can't count how many times I have been here as I do a lot of outdoors activities and have a lot of gear, but just feels like lately, this place just isn't really living up to the standards I used to enjoy about this store. It might be time to break up soon honestly...I guess all relationships must end, even the good ones that have gone sour.

Bass Pro and Cabela's are sporting good retailers that sell outdoor equipment for camping, hunting, fishing and other outdoor reactional activities. I am a big outdoor enthusiast and live next door to this Bass Pro Shop in Mesa. Most of my outdoor activities include camping, running, skiing and kayaking. Bass Pro Shops have been around for many years and recently acquired Cabela's. This Bass Pro Shop is called Outdoor World and has an aquarium, shooting gallery and animal displays. It adds to the fun of walking around these stores and gives you that feel that you are outside. The prices aren't anything special. But I like that you can find a lot of outdoor apparel and gear all in one stop. During…read moremy visit, my mom was waiting in line to use the restroom along with several other customers when a mom and her child walked straight past everyone and cut through the entire line. It was extremely rude and disrespectful to everyone who had been patiently waiting their turn. What made the situation even worse was that no one from the store seemed to address it or manage the situation, even though the area was busy. Basic courtesy and respect for other customers should be expected in a public place, and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. While the store itself may be popular, experiences like this leave a really negative impression. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed with how the situation played out. I hope that some day, this issue gets addressed and resolved. Needless to say, I won't be coming back & would highly recommend staying away from this location.
