We stayed at the McCormick Hyatt for the JDRF gala a few weeks ago and stopped in for lunch after we set up our section. I read the reviews before hand and will agree with others about the unusually slow service. It was painfully slow. That's why only three stars. It wasn't busy at all, so there was no reason for that. As for the food, it was pretty good. Started with the Sriracha deviled eggs. Nice texture and just a hint of heat. They have Vegan food and it's marked on the menu. My significant other had the SOFRITO TOFU TACOS and he said they were pretty good. I had a special, it was kind of a grown up grilled cheese. It had Chile rellenos with lots of cheese on sourdough. It was good but so filling. So much cheese. Almost too much. As it cooled it became a big clump. The fries were good. read more

I usually don't like hotel restaurants when I travel but I opted for Arc in the Hyatt McCormick Place - it was raining, didn't feel like doing an Uber and I was generally too lazy to find a 'real' restaurant. I sat down at the busy bar and was immediately greeted by Gabriel, the bartender. He managed the bar well and I never had to wave him down despite the number of people he was serving. He recommended the black bean burger. I hadn't had one in a while, got it with avocado and a side of tomato cucumber salad. It was so tasty and really filling. Reasonably priced too, I thought. I am pretty happy with this decision and won't hesitate grabbing a quick bite here in the future. read more

Sat outside for over 30 minutes and never had a server come to our table. There's a very good chance we will never come back.

I visited this place 3 times in a two day period. Their service could be greatly improved. We had a server charge some people gratuity because they were sitting at our table after we all paid. Yet didn't charge the original group gratuity. Very odd situation. I also didn't get a copy of my credit card receipt. I did have good interactions with the server when I ordered food to go. The food was good, the buffalo wings were tasty good, meat tender. The nachos were alright but more meat options would be nice. My server messed up my burger order so when it came out the second time it wasn't quite well done. But overall the food can get 4 stars. I wouldn't recommend this place at this time. read more

While having drinks with some colleagues, I had a Chicago Dog and bread pudding. I was pleasantly surprised the hot dog was delicious as they used just the right amount of each ingredient. We stayed at the Hyatt for a buy fair and spent a bit of our time at the Arc Bar. The drinks were great and the food was delicious! I recommend the nachos and the prime burger :). And the service at the bar was incredible! Everyone was friendly but our absolute favorite was Paula! She was so fun and always greeted us with a "Hey Sweetie!" This is a bar that does not feel like a bar. It has more of a cafeteria feel. Open-air noisy bar surrounded by tables for dining. Extremely limited food menu with no other choices for dining in the evening at this Hyatt location. I paid $17 for a 9-oz glass of their house wine. Then, they have the audacity to tax me on the wine (another $2). Service is good and the place is surely clean to a fault. I find it a shame that this Hyatt dos not have a place whetre you can get a good steak or piece of fish in a calm quiet atmosphere. read more

I traveled to Chicago for a meeting and was fortunate to stay at the Hyatt. Not wanting to venture out into the city I stumbled upon the ARC Bar. First, the service was outstanding. I had a grilled chicken sandwich, which came with fries and a Pepsi. It was overpriced; $13 for sandwich and $3.75 for Pepsi. Service was good and food was ok. It's part of the Hyatt McCormick Place and is in lobby, well lit, and several TV's in the Bar area. I don't think it deserves 1 star. A humongous convention was being set up at McCormick place and the setup people had limited choices. What does the management decide to do? Remove 3/4 of the chairs so they can be replaced. They lost a tremendous amount of money making this real poor business decision. The servers were completely unprepared for the crowd. Now on to the food. Dry overcooked chicken sandwiches and dry hamburgers served for a premium price. They have a captive clientele and serve overpriced junk. read more

Service was bad. Our waitress disappeared for a while and we asked a bartender and the kitchen staff that brought our food to simply refill our waters. They both refused, saying it was the waitress' job, even though she was nowhere to be seen. Ordered a burger and while the bun was hot, the patties themselves were cold, so idea now long it had been sitting out. read more

When a bartender has to leave the bar to find out how many ounces a burger is, it's a clear sign that management and staff do not care about service. The menu is pretentious. Black kale? What chef thought that would be a wise idea? The restaurants in the Hyatt are clearly the weak link in my stay here, but that's another review. Located inside the Hyatt Regency hotel. Lots of seating, tables, bar and outside by the fire pit. If you're here, it's only for the drinks. Lots to choose from on tap. Don't come for the food. It's basic and pretty tasteless. You can throw something together in your own kitchen that will taste way better than anything on this menu. Not all heroes wear capes... some make sure you are fed, smiling, and feel at home after a long day! Liz at ARC in the Hyatt Regency was a consistent ray of sunshine during our week-long visit for a tradeshow. Like most people who attend shows, the days are long, followed by client meetings, etc., and one night in particular, my coworker and I walked in absolutely starving after some failed dinner plans. Liz went above and beyond to make sure the kitchen would accommodate our late dinner, probably seeing the desperation in our eyes. What we saw was a compassionate heart and a woman who did not have to treat us like we were her only customers, but as people she really valued. As the week progressed we genuinely looked forward to seeing her smiling face and will genuinely never forget her. Liz is the type of staff member that brings people back to a hotel / bar. The only good part of this places was the food. The food was amazing but the service was horrible. Their setup attributes to this. First, there is not a place to check in. I had to ask a waiter how to get a table and they said to sit wherever. It took 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and then say they will be right back and another waitress takes our order. We ordered drinks and the food arrived before the drinks!!!! The drinks were overpriced and not good. Wanted a quick bite so we ordered a couple of cheeseburgers. They were grilled to our specifications but only average in taste. Fries came with the burgers but for $15, I expected more. They also tasted as if it was time to change the fry oil; not rancid at all, but a little "off" tasting. Overpriced (food and drink) messed up order twice! got cheeseburger admittantly was better than McDonalds but worse than shake shack. Would not reccomend unless you don't want to leave hotel because kind of spendy. Good for crowd who is on company dime. read more
