Not into fast food to much, but due to some work issues, having to do it way more than I would like these days. Food was picked up by wife on the way to the worksite. The Greek Gyro was great. They truly have the meats. The price $30 for two people for a togo order, so more than I would expect. It was through the drive through for pickup. She said they were quick, courteous and we actually got our entire order. No reason to take away any stars, except maybe the anticipated price for a fast food kinda place. So they get a solid 4. Wow. Talk about a downfall of another great American fast food company. Ever since they closed the Stevens Creek store in San Jose the only choice is to go to Sunnyvale. The crew at the closed location were always on top of it. Now, the Sunnyvale location... Either ordering with DD or going to the store, the quality is abysmal. They even had a tip jar at the drive-thru window. WTF? Ordered a French Dip san, no dip. I mean seriously. Seems like they're hiring the new breed of worker. We're fortunate to have the one and only Arby's in Northern California here in Sunnyvale. A friend raved about their French Dip sandwich with paper-thin slices of beef. They were right, Arby's makes a very good sandwich on a soft roll accompanied by a generous amount of au jus to dip it in. They get high marks from me for their bread-to-sandwich contents ratio: there is much more beef than there is bread, or roll, in this case. The Curly Fries are just as good as people say, they seem to be batter-dipped and prepared in a two step process. The Orange Cream Shake is refreshing and good. The Greek Gyro is just as good as what many Greek cafes would serve you. Compared to the other Arby's in South SF the Arby's in Sunnyvale is a completely different and much better experience. Compared to all others this location is still very good. + Ordering and dining areas neat and clean. + Bathrooms clean and had hot water for washing hands. + Parking was easy. Lot was clean. + Ordering food was a pleasure. Quick and efficient despite the Hindi accent. Not my favorite accent BUT the people who took my order and served the tray of food were my favorite kind of nice and caring people. + Food quality and a quantity more than matched my expectations for a good Arby's location. + The front seating area is a sun room. Nice to sit in and a little less noisy than the main seating area. + The soda fountain is calibrated well for a tasty Coke and Dr. Pepper. I would visit just for the drinks. - Similar to other long established locations this Arby's could use a little maintenance. Wood protection (shellac) and a carpet cleaning. Went to Arby's for the beer battered fish sandwiches that have been advertised on TV... super disappointed! I am usually happy with Arby's; however, this will be my first and last trip to the Sunnyvale Arby's. All four of us had to pick off burnt buns and fish off the sandwiches. Literally the only Arby's within 20 minutes of us. So when the hubby wants a beef sandwich we mosey over to Sunnyvale for beef eats. The kids love their chicken nuggest and curly fries. Hubby loves the roast beef sandwich plain with a side of cheddah. They sell cheddar cheese by the cup $.50 per cup. If you are eating at a fast food chain, give them a break, especially in these times. The service was efficient and our food was made right. If you are impatient, this is not the place for you since they move slow and steady. Their milkshakes are very good and the roast beef taste like roast beef. Kids meals are $4.99 and you get a small side, a toy, and apple juice or milk. pretty good steal I'd say. Arby's isn't especially good, but it has nostalgia value for me and some days I just want to put sad garbage in my body. This one is amongst the saddest Arby's restaurants you are likely to encounter. The benches are impossible to get in and out of thanks to a combination of busted springs and support poles being installed where most people's legs go, most of the building's occupants are dangerously insane homeless people waiting to use the free-for-all toilet outside and the trash cans get emptied maybe once a day. Maybe. What I do genuinely love about this place is watching all the incoherent old white people get angry at the Indian ladies behind the counter for no apparent reason whatsoever. The counter staff has always been perfectly pleasant in my interactions with them, probably because I don't scream nonsense in their faces and ask 6,000 questions about every single menu item on the board when I know that I'm just going to order the same damn thing I've gotten ever other time I've been there. Imho the best potato cakes and cheesy mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce from a fast food joint. I'm not a fan of the curly seasoned fries. It's way to salty for me. Honestly surprised this place hasn't closed years ago for its really horrendous management. First off, they do NOT allow free refills on drinks by turning off the self service bar, and the condiments/napkins are all behind the counter while only giving you very few before they start charging you. When you do get the meal, the fries are incredibly salty (more than Macdonalds) and the burgers themselves are very sad and undercooked (see for yourself on the image). As for the employees themselves, there's a good chance you can see some action from them. For instance, the manager flirts with the employee in front of everyone. She also is the cashier handing money with no gloves on, the handles the food (again with no gloves). As you can also see, she doesn't care about wearing a mask properly especially when dealing with the public. Cabinets and floors dirty and stink... it's like they are going out of business and just don't care. Maybe they just want to go out of business? I ordered my burger, via doordash at 7pm. At 7:16pm,. I found out the order was cancelled. I called Arbys to see if THEY cancelled it, or if the DoorDash driver cancelled it. They informed me that it was cancelled by the DRIVER, but if I wanted to, reorder it through DoorDash and have another driver come get it, because it was ALREADY READY. Mind you this was around 7pm. I'm 20 mins away from arbys. I don't want a sandwich that's ALREADY MADE, that I have to RESUBMIT the order to, just to wait for a door dash driver to get the order, pick it up, and bring it to me. WHY? Cause at that time that sandwich is old af and nasty. So I waited about an hour before I reordered. I just got my food. What do you know? I usually have my wife with me and she checks all the bags before we leave. This time I was alone and didn't check. Half hour+ round trip from home. 3 French dips with NO dip. Not worth the time or gas to go back. I was told SPECIFICALLY all the bags were complete (fries and condiments). On one of our visits during the covid, all the beef was dry and kinda stiff. Sir/Madam, I have not gone to an Arby's in quite a while and was looking forward to a nice meal. The drive-thru person that took the order did not pay attention very well to the simple order of 2 separate sandwiches. It went downhill from there. I got to the window and the slow pace of the 3 workers I saw was indicative of the slow pace of the order! 15 minutes waiting at the window for them to figure out the 1 order and 1 person in the lobby. The other cars were backing up 5 & 6 deep behind me. Nothing was said that it would take a while or any communication beyond them taking my payment. The person that took the order was a very overweight African American and when he finally got the bag to me, he said a few things that only he could hear. 3 things that I never understood, let alone knew what he said at all. Mumble Mumble Mumble. Granted, he was wearing a mask, but he could have been louder! Nothing about that made the nasty experience better. I did catch him asking if I wanted sauce, but just ordering 2 sandwiches and no sides, why is there a question on sauce? The other questions he asked, the volume never made it past the inside of the store! When I did get home, both sandwiches were pretty cold and I only live 10 miles away. One would think that if they were taking 15 minutes to make our order that either one was gonna be warm or hot, not room temperature or just cold! NOT a favorable experience at all. I asked the order taker if I could have the key to the restroom to wash my hands and he said it was being used because the key was missing. The female employee said the bathrooms were closed to guests however I saw ladies using the women's restroom. She told me I could use the sanitizer they had on the counter to wash my hands! Really? Didn't expect much at first and why I'm even ordering a burger at Arby's but why not. I was pleasantly surprised it was a lot better than I expected. Ordered the bacon ranch burger and I would definitely order again. For me the foods always been good and what I expect. After waiting 17 minutes for 3 vehicles I ask how long would the wait be at the window and they told me they have to wait on fries again. Averaging almost 6 minutes a vehicle isn't fast food.
