LONG wait for a fast food restaurant. Sandwich was good but the fries tasted like they were cooked last week.

I did Edward's Point and Signal Mountain on a super hot morning hike and decided I had earned a huge sandwich and some pimento cheese so, I snuck in about 25 minutes before closing to get a sandwich to go. Staff were SO nice and welcoming. Telling me there was no rush, I could sit and eat, etc. I spoke to the charming Chris, who went over the entire menu with me and offered for me to sample a few of their pasta salads and pimento and made suggestions. He was the biggest sweetheart. In the end, they didn't have the daily special chopped Italian I'd seen so, I went with a turkey and cheese with pimento to go and some sweet tea. At checkout, another friendly and lovable female staffer was totally charming. My sandwich was HUGE and the pimento cheese was some of the best I've ever had! And, your girl is from the South so, I've had a metric ton of pimento in my life. I really like the location and the vibes inside. Local's gem. And the staff, A+++++

Yellow deli is one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga in terms of tourist experience due to it being truly once of the first yellow delis. Although the staff might be a bit off putting at times, they are very kind and respectful of the customers that come in--all of them are very gentle and soft spoken. If you are in a rush this is not the place to go because their service time is respectfully slower than most. The interior of yellow deli is so beautiful, very much old cottage/pub like style--the whole place has intricate woodwork, warm/soft lighting, and giant murals on the wall. I am vegetarian, and get the veggie burger a majority of my visits, and it is TO DIE FOR in terms of flavor. I have been aching to get my hands on the recipe because it really is that good. On that note, it is difficult to eat at times because the patty comes apart, I would ask for a fork and I'm sure you will receive. Before I went vegetarian my go to was the deli rose and the saltiness of the deli meat with the sweetness of the sauce is unbelievable. The bread is house made and is undoubtedly fresh and delicious. There is not one time I have been that the quality of food they serve has slacked. I definitely recommend!

This is the third location I have been to! The location is different menu items than the ones I've been to in california. The sweet potato pound cake is probably the best thing I have ever eaten. I also had one of their lattes and it was a phenomenal mix. I highly recommend stopping and enjoying this little spot.

Some highlights were the burger (the best I've ever had), the trout (also the best I've ever had), the charcuterie board (delicious), and the beef tallow fries (also delicious). Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.

While waiting, I learned the owner has been running Figgy's for about 30 years. The restaurant has that classic local lunch spot feel, with regulars stopping in and a friendly, community atmosphere. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of seating, and the service was genuinely welcoming. If you're looking for a local Chattanooga sandwich shop with great food, fair prices, and an owner who truly cares about his customers, Figgy's is absolutely worth a visit.

Naming your sandwich shop Tasty Heaven Sandwich Shop "Heaven" is a bold strategy. That's not…read morebranding... that's a performance guarantee. I needed something quick, light, and close to our company office in Chattanooga. The ratings were strong, the reviews looked promising, and frankly when you call yourself Heaven, expectations go up fast. I'm not asking for miracles... but a great sandwich would be a nice start. First clue something was... developing... was the sign. Still a banner out front. Which usually means one of two things: 1. Brand new and figuring things out. 2. Someone lost a bet with a printing company. Inside felt like a sandwich shop that's been around for decades. Worn floors, chalkboards tossed up on the wall like they lost a game of darts, and the menu scribbled across them in chalk. Not charming-chaotic. More like... chaotic-chaotic. No problem. I'm here for the sandwich. I ordered the #1, because when a place names a sandwich after itself, that's usually the mic drop item. The "Heaven Classic." If you're going to plant your flag, plant it on the best hill. It came out fast. Very fast. Suspiciously fast. I brought it back to the office, opened it up, took a bite... and immediately felt like I'd been transported to the deli aisle of a gas station. "If this sandwich were any more average, it would come with an Oscar Mayer jingle." The bread was actually pretty good. Nice texture, solid foundation. But the filling? It felt like someone stopped at a convenience store, grabbed a pack of cold cuts, and said, "Yep... this'll do." Now here's where the plot twist comes in. Afterward I started digging through the reviews because the disconnect was wild. People were raving about this place. Five stars everywhere. I'm thinking, "Did I walk into the wrong universe?" Turns out... most of those reviews are for Steamboat. Looks like the place changed names sometime late last year. Same location, new name, very different experience. So the glowing reputation may belong to a former tenant. Which leads to my final thought... If this is Heaven, I'd hate to see the alternative. I'm landing at three stars, mostly because I'm feeling generous today and the bread deserved better than the situation it was put in. Would I go back? Probably not. Chattanooga has way too many great sandwich spots to gamble on purgatory again.

After a staff member kindly answered my question about tea options, I order a small latte and a Better Biscuit. I then chose a cushy yellow chair at a smaller table by the front window to enjoy the food from first. After eating, I took my latte outside to enjoy one of the cozy outdoor sofa spots since there was a breeze in the air. The Better Biscuit is a slightly under $5 massive creation. This biscuit had so much tasty egg, cheese, and bacon mix perfectly scooped into big, fluffy dough! It was such a delish treat. And the small latte was large in both size and flavor. Drip is a great addition in Hixson.

There are handicapped spaces near the door but if you use the painted walkway you will be taking extra steps to use the ramp. It is in the middle of the side of the building so you would then need to walk up to the front to get to the door. Also, all parking is across a traffic lane where the drive through backs up when it is busy. In general it's fine, but could have been better designed. It is bright inside with lots of windows. There are many seating options from booths and tables to comfy chairs. The interior is a semi-industrial style with open steel beams and shiny silver ducting. The overall vibe is comfy and inviting. We ordered at the counter. The menu is above and behind and is large enough to see from further away so you have time to figure out what you want. You get a number for the table when you order food, and they will call your name for drinks. It can get a bit loud so it was difficult to hear the names being called unless you were standing near the counter. The food took about five minutes to be brought to the table. The Steel Curtain sandwich and Southwest wrap, along with a caramel macchiato and vanilla streamer came to $23. The sandwich was filling and very flavorful. The Southwest wrap was surprisingly good, and the cup of pico made for a nice addition. The wrap had filling throughout, with neither end being just the burrito wrap. The caramel macchiato was very good. The caramel flavor did not taste processed and the ratios were done right. The vanilla steamer was also good, with the right amount of vanilla without being overpowering. A later trip tried the salted caramel mocha which was average. For some reason the caramel flavor was off and the cold foam did not really add anything to improve the flavor. This is not one I would order again. On a separate trip we tried the Better biscuit. This was surprisingly and disappointingly small. It was much more like a snack than breakfast. The flavor was good but the small size meant we needed to order something else to sate our hunger. We decided to try the Dripsters breakfast bites. These alone would also be a snack but they are advertised as such. They are quite good and dipped in Ranch dressing makes for a surprisingly good taste. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They are mostly a hit with a couple misses, but certainly worth trying.
