The customer service has greatly improved. The girl working the drive thru( Laquava) was really exceptional and friendly.

This is the only restaurant I've been to where the food had absolutely zero flavor. Zero. Been there twice and each time I couldn't even taste salt. I truly believe the food packaging may have had more flavor. Too bad since it's so close to the house. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this experience like my husband and I have had. Slow service. But overall just nasty. I was in the drive thru and watch an employee bagging food and making drinks with no gloves on, when she scooped the ice into the cup, the remaining ice that didn't make it into the cup fell on her ungloved hands, and back into the ice cooler. Now someone has god knows what germs in their drink. She also had long acrylics which as far as my knowledge is not allowed when you're working with food. read more

I decided to eat in the restaurant today. Unlike the last time when I waited 15 minutes (no one else was inline) there was someone to take my order. However, when they called my name, the order was incorrect. They agreed, I return to my table. After twenty minutes of waiting (only 3 people in the restaurant) I went up to the counter, and they found my order and filled it. The other thing was one of the workers behind the counter had their kids in the restaurant. that employee had to come out several times and take the kids back to the table they were at because they were running around and bothering the families trying to eat. It's definitely not Jack in the Box which was a disappointment when we first tried it. But their menu has a southern theme of fried chicken and sides with other pretty standard comfort food options. We've tried everything on the menu here in Chattanooga over the past 3 yrs and there wasn't anything we wouldn't have again. Located along Hixson Pike, their sign stands out so they are easy to find. Their entrance requires a tight turn and is narrow, so be cautious, especially if there is traffic. They have a good amount of parking, but I used the drive through. I was greeted as soon as I pulled up to the speaker, but was asked to wait. After about a minute, she came back on and apologized for the wait. She was very pleasant. The person working the window was also very pleasant and efficient. The Special breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, grits, biscuit and gravy, plus your choice of a sausage patty or bacon. Eggs were cooked quite well, with no runny or overdone pieces. Actually some of the best fast food scrambled eggs I've had. The sausage patty was the typical processed meat, somewhat crumbly but fine. Grits were good. They have a buttery taste without being over salted. Gravy is also good. It's thick without bring clumpy and has a nice pepper bite. The biscuit was disappointing. Overdone and crusty. Way too hard to cut with a fork like a proper gravy biscuit and chewing should not produce a crunch. Of special note, they actually filled my coffee cup to the top, not 1 1/2 inches low like many places. I'm only giving this three stars primarily for the biscuit. They had a double biscuit and gravy special going when I was there. I would have been severely disappointed if I had decided to order that and they would only get one star. Still, other items were pretty good, so four stars without the biscuit. read more

The last two visits were not pleasant at all. The first visit I went through the drive through and ordered wings. After about a ten minute wait I got my order. I got home and realized they had given me the wrong order. I drove back ( a ten minute drive ) and was given the correct order. They were very apologetic. It was just aggravating. Today I went through the drive through and again ordered wings. I was told to drive around to the front door and some would bring my order out to me. After waiting 15 minutes later I parked and went inside. It took another five minutes for the clerk inside to get to me. I told her what I was waiting for. She turned around and my order was sitting on the counter. She handed my order to me, she said nothing and walked away. Very rude!! She worked very slow and acted like she didn't want to be there. I have never been to a fast-food establishment where the manager was eating food without gloves on, picking fries up and eating them in full view of customers if they were paying attention. This male African-American manager knew better than to do such a thing, but ignored proper food handling procedures. This is completely unacceptable unsanitary behavior on ANY employee's part, much less a part of the management team, in any establishment where food is served. This would be an offense for termination for a manager in most other eating establishments to pick up customer food, eat it in front of customers and use that same hand to pick up customer food to place it in bags for serving. That manager sets a perfect example for the rest of his team. Would it be okay for all the employees to be picking up food and eating it while they are preparing your food to serve you or while checking you out? I think not. This shows that this manager at the Hixson TN location does not promote sanitary work procedures to follow in this restaurant and should be reported to our city health inspectors. I submitted this review via Jacks Survey Portal and was almost immediately contacted by a Jacks Area Manager by phone but I did not see the call at the time. He called me again the following day. In a nutshell, he stated that Jack's did not operate that way and the individual had been reprimanded for this behavior and it would not be happening again. He showed sincere concern over what I witnessed. I appreciated the very quick response to my concerns and it shows that Jack's takes responsibility for their employees' actions and is quick to make corrections. read more

Liv's Attitude... Stopped by the drive thru this evening at 8:55pm. They don't close until 10pm. I ordered chicken and was told that they only had 2 wings and it would be 25 minutes before more could be finished cooking. I could have tenders though. I declined but ordered some for my kid. When I drove to the window I spoke with Liv and asked her why a chicken place wouldn't have chicken an hour before closing. I was not rude didn't raise my voice and even told her I wasn't blaming her personally....just wondering why that would be. Liv told me "we are a chicken AND BURGER place and that if you want chicken you should go to KFC! I was shocked. I asked her if I could quote her on that and she said sure! We first ordered from Jack's a couple of months ago and the order was completely wrong. We tried them again last night and they still can't get it right. The first time they put the wrong burgers in the bag and we didn't notice until we got all the way home. This time they put regular french fries when we ordered seasoned fries. The guy last night at the register and who took the order was very rude. We were wondering why there were no cars in the parking lot and it was about 6:30 pm. Now we understand after reading the reviews on here because this appears to happen all the time. Comparable to a Wendy's or Sonic burger, Jacks as a fast food Burger comes out ahead! Their burgers actually reminded me more of steak and shake Steak Burgers, and where is equally as tender as a regular burger from anywhere else. I got a big Jack loaded with everything and thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely not as good as the local made burgers at some other places in downtown Chattanooga, but I would certainly stop by here again to grab one on the way home. For $8, comparable to a Big Mac meal, I got a large drink large fry and a Big Jack Burger. My biggest regret today and I am eating a late breakfast and won't be able to go there for lunch. The staff there was all over the place too, not unsurprising considering it was everyone's birthday. Everyone's friendly enough, but very very busy. Not a bad thing, it's just something to be looking for it once it's not as crazy there and not the first day jitters. Definitely definitely will return to Jax burgers. This is to be the sorriest fast food restaurant in history. They never have what you want. They are out of coke, they only have enough chicken for 1 meal then they are completely out. Today their toaster is broke so the boys are being served on white bread. Every time you go there is something they can't provide. It's been that way since it opened. We decided to try Jack's drive though for a quick lunch. I ordered a 2 piece chicken dinner with fries and a side salad, a kids chicken tenders meal and a peach lemonade. My daughter liked her meal but they failed to give us condiments so I had to park and go inside to get ketchup. There were a few issues with my experience. There were lots of young people working and it seemed to be chaotic. Looking inside the drive through window while waiting, the floor was nasty and no one seemed to be making any attempt to clean it. They were out of ranch and the ketchup packets I had to go inside to get were sticky and nasty as well. The side salad I received was very pitiful in my opinion. It consisted of shredded lettuce, cheese and tomato. I usually prefer salad greens or leaf lettuce. Overall I might give them a 1.5 stars because the chicken was ok and my daughter liked her tenders and fries. I'm not sure that we will go back. read more

Ordered a large strawberry shake. Handed me the shake and card back at same time. Milk and ice cream all over outside of cup, no straw, and was about 2 inches shy of the rim of the cup. Cost was $4.36 for a large shake. Normally it has whip cream hiding the gap in filling the cup. When you receive it 3/4 full, I don't think you should be charged full price. Also had to park and go inside for a straw and napkins to clean cup. We have given this location multiple tries and it's just too inconsistent in every category. I do not recommend. read more

Food is so good. Service is horrible. I'm so frustrated. Drive through is always slow, that doesn't actually bother me. It's the way I'm spoken to as I order. It's like I'm wildly inconveniencing the person on the other end. Recommend the food, but these people need training in customer service. It's uncomfortable. Also, always check your bag. We've gone to Jack's twice now, so that should tell you something. My guy described it pretty well; Jack's is like if Hardees and KFC had a baby. I added a clean (not that the others aren't*) and a more modern baby. Jack's has burgers and fried chicken, chicken tenders, and boneless wings (which I think is pretty much junior tenders?). The food was tasty, especially for a fast-food restaurant. They also have hand-scooped ice cream and offer some pretty yummy selections. Both visits we opted for chicken and were pleased. I enjoyed their chicken sandwich which I would rank right up there with Popeye's! My only issue is that both times we visited, I had to clean the table. We checked a few tables and none were clean. Now normally that would just irk me but in the times of COVID-19, it's more of a concern. On our 2nd visit, I did see a team member go around and clean the tables so I know it is done. Somehow we missed that, on both of our visits. Both times, I was able to sanitize our table. :\ So I'm hoping that on our next visit, we'll find freshly cleaned tables. We also noticed that Jack's has a nice looking breakfast menu. They serve breakfast until 11am. It's on our list. So over all, I am a fan, and if they can get their table game on point, it would be great! read more

IMO, about the best fast food burger place around. Fries are great, burgers & chicken sandwiches are very tasty, biscuits are very good. All the other fast food sandwich places - with the exception of Chik-fil-a - fall short in some way or other. I'm able to count on consistent service, quality, taste here ... at least over the past 1.5 years. Personally, I like another local place just as well as it applies to flavor (Wimpies) but the rest of my family prefers Jack's. read more

Overall was good for a fast food place. The chicken had a little spice but not much and was not too flaky. I actually enjoyed more than Popeyes. Kids burger was good quality. $5 Chicken dinner with green beans and mashed potatoes was actually tasty. Went through the drive through this week. Guy at the window was very polite and kind. Came home and realized they had left out 1/2 my order and my chicken sandwich was not edible. It was of it had been deep fried all day. I have only had breakfast at this store which is usually very good. Was super excited for this to open, and when it finally did, I was there opening day. I ordered two classic chicken sandwiches with friends, lemonade and sweet tea. The fries are a favorite because I absolutely love crinkle cut fries, sweet tea was incredible, but to the point where you might go into diabetic arrest for the amount of sugar, but that's what I love. The lemonade was drank by my way better half and stated it was slightly better than chic fila lemonade. Then we moved on to the grand finale, grand daddy of them all, and wow, total disappointment, just a plain ol chicken sandwich. Will not be doing that again for dinner. The chicken is crispy and juicy and the toasted buns are soft and warm. The food is top of the fast food breakfast heel, but the accuracy is a major issue. This morning I ordered a HAM big breakfast sandwich and got sausage. I paid extra for ham. Previously, I've ordered unsweetened tea because I'm diabetic and gotten sweet tea. I've ordered egg on a biscuit and gotten no egg. The examples go on and on with their terrible attention to orders. The service was fast and friendly, and the prices were good but we were disappointed with the food. The coffee tasted bitter/old and the biscuits were under baked.
