Located along the very busy and commercialized US Route 11 / Harrisburg Pike corridor between I-81 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Arby's offers a quick and convenient stop for tasty, freshly-made fast food as you traverse the local road between these two major highways. On a recent roadtrip home from Pittsburgh to northern New Jersey with my dining companion and her father, my passengers started getting hangry as we were approaching the midway point of our trip in Carlisle. Even though the two of them prefer locally-owned fast-casual restaurants over the corporate fast food outlets, I pushed for a quick and convenient stop along US Route 11 between the Turnpike and I-81 so we could grab a quick lunch before getting back on the road towards home. It's been years since I've visited an Arby's, but this location is in a super convenient spot right between I-81 and the Turnpike and I figured it would offer them something a little different than the usual grease-forward menu at Burger King and the truck stops on this short stretch of local road. I was pleasantly surprised by the renovated interior -- modern and a nice step up from your average fast-food restaurant -- and friendly staff that demonstrated plenty of patience dealing with two folks who were not-at-all familiar with Arby's (Arbys'? Arbys's'?) menu, having subconsciously blocked out years of Ving Rhames declaring "We Have The Meats®". I decided to try the Deep Fried Turkey Gobbler, featuring thick-sliced, juicy deep-fried turkey breast served with Thanksgiving-inspired ingredients like stuffing, cranberry sauce, savory herb spread, and crispy onions on a sub roll. The turkey was thick-sliced and juicy, and the cranberry spread added a nice tartness that balanced the savory stuffing. YUM. Of course, you can't go to Arby's and skip the curly fries. They were perfectly seasoned and paired well with the slight kick of the Arby's Horsey Sauce. My dining companion and her father opted for slightly healthier fare - chicken wraps - which they said were quite tasty. Overall, our food was hot, fresh, and better than your standard fast-food fare. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is one of the two customer bathrooms was out of order and it seemed as if every customer (and a several visitors who weren't customers) needed to use the restroom.. which created quite a bottleneck. When you have a crowd of people coming off the highway to eat, a line for a single restroom can turn a "quick stop" into a long wait. Not a pleasant experience. Server set To Go order on counter and walked away. Stood several minutes at counter waiting for someone to come from back to ask for condiments. Very rude. Buffalo Chicken was rubbery. Roast beef sandwich was cold. Bathrooms needed cleaning and stocking. Not up to Arby's normal standards to say the least read more

Dont be fooled by the "tired" exterior of this location as the interior is very modern, the food was very good and fresh aside from the buffalo chicken tender slice which felt like rubber and was inedible, the reason I came here was because I was recently mailed a few coupons which really came in handy! We ordered quite a few items though a few that we will not be ordering again were the oreo bites (flavorless) jalapeno poppers (also bland) as well as the buffalo chicken slider for reasons I've previously stated. My go-to is the cheddar beef sandwich with some arbys sauce on it as well as a side of their delicious curly fries with cheddar cheese (although next time I will deffinatly try their loaded fries!) My wife tried their fish sandwich which was super "fishy" and overall had a stale bland flavor to it, but the staff here were very nice and helpful as well as pretty quick to serve, a good spot for a lunch break perhaps! read more

Lived in Carlisle for over 15 years. I've been here many times, but I'm not going back. I know that times are tough for people working (especially the service industry) which is why I try to be friendly & patient. However The woman who was working at the drive thru was incredibly rude. Arby's was renovated. The food was good. The service was ok. The girl at the register had a bad day or doesn't really enjoy her job. Ordered a meal and only for the sandwich. Wasnt charged for the meal, but with the line was not worth going back up. Lady came out screaming bathrooms are nasty. Parking kinda is a nightmare with the one way in and out. read more

My husband and I LOVE Arby's, and we were excited to find this one only a couple miles from our house, but we haven't gone a single time without getting our order messed up in some way. I completely understand when restaurants make mistakes every now and then, but we have been there ten times, and not ONCE have we gotten exactly what we ordered. We've had to either drive back there, go back up to the counter, or just settle because we didn't feel like driving back again. We try this Arby's every once in a while to see if maybe they'll get it right this time, but the result is always the same. We've had missing items, we've gotten other people's orders, we've gotten the wrong sandwiches... you name it, it's probably happened to us. If you like getting your order screwed up literally every time you go there, then I highly recommend this Arby's. read more

I've driven by this location countless times on our way from the mid-Atlantic to the midwest but never stopped until this past weekend. It's especially convenient when heading south (when you get off I-81 and are heading to the turnpike, it's on your right). Beef & Cheddars were as expected (actually a little heavier on the beef than normal), fries were hot, and they remembered my Arby's sauce. They didn't have any roast beef ready and it would take a half hour until it was done. They offered a black Angus beef sandwich instead for the regular roast beef price. Keep in mind this didn't become known to me until I went to pay. The manager was trying to do their best, but the sandwich was not as described. Upon placing my order, the cashier shouted "why is everyone here on Labor Day?!l". She also went on to say she would rather be at a cookout and couldn't believe anyone wanted to eat fast food on a holiday.
