No seats available in cafe portion (about 4 small round tables) or in the cat visitation area. Cats were already skittish and we really did not get to have much interaction. We did not get anything to eat as we had no place to sit, but did get to visit a chill kitty lounging in the front window. Unfortunately after about 15 min, my Girlfriend who paid $15 each for our tickets said she would rather get out of here (I was feeling overwhelmed myself) so we headed for the door. A staffer asked her what she thought & she basically said what I listed above. He did mention that they had issues with the reservation system and it is understandable - which is why I list a 'neutral' rating. Their goal of trying to support pet adoptions is laudable - hopefully as things settle down the cats won't be hiding from everyone;)

We don't recall seeing anyone sitting inside so we weren't sure what the problem was with sitting down. Eventually one of the servers came to wipe off one of many empty tables before we sat down. We were here for more than 25 minutes from the time we arrived until getting menus. Knowing I wanted to go out to eat supper with Jenni, I figured we were unlikely to get food for another 30 minutes after already waiting 25 minutes just to be sat so I decided to bugger off and have something small elsewhere so as not to spoil my appetite for supper. I've eaten here in the past and when things go well, it's delightful. Unfortunately my last two visits didn't go well and I left unsatisfied and on this last visit, having not ordered due to the wait.

The café has a warm, inviting atmosphere with beautiful local artwork that creates a relaxing dining experience. The breakfast sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The frittata was hearty, satisfying, and generously portioned. While it was just a little heavier on the pepper than I personally prefer, it was still very enjoyable. The highlight of our visit was the gluten-free, vegan strawberry matcha cinnamon roll. It was incredibly moist, delicious, and packed with flavor--one of the best gluten-free pastries we've had. It's refreshing to find a café that offers healthy options without sacrificing taste. If you're traveling through central Pennsylvania or simply live in the area, this is a wonderful alternative to the chain restaurants that dominate the highways. Whether you're looking for gluten-free, vegan, or just fresh, wholesome food, Down to Earth Café delivers. We highly recommend this café and will definitely make it a stop on future trips through the area.
