I've been here twice and they seem to know what they're doing with their espresso. However, they need to start using the thermometer for steaming milk. The first time the milk was not hot enough (I'd say 150 degrees or so) and the latte was lukewarm before I and my friend were halfway through. The second time it was far too hot, tongue scaldingly hot. They have Melinda's Biscotti from Sidney, my favourite, I recommend the Cranberry White-Chocolate (yes I know, I don't normally like white chocolate or cranberries either, but trust me). BTW: Amanda, the coment in your review about the skids and hippies is hilarious.

So, on my visit home, I was excited to stop by Coffee On the Moon and catch some of the relaxing vibe that I miss so much. I didnt order a London Fog this last time, but tried something different and I tried the hot apple cider and the rice crispie. I wasnt a huge fan of the rice crispie, it was huge and overpriced but I still love Coffee On the Moon. :) Staff are great too.

Salad was great and Pizzas were both delicious- we had the Margherita and Pepperoni. Dough was light and fluffy and wonderfully crispy with a little char from the wood fired oven. Loved them both. Though I tried one of their local/organic gourmet paninis on opening night, I have since limited my tastings to wine and dessert (what can you do?). My take on the one-time panini - a bit pricey for the portion, but absolutely fresh and well-presented on a thick wooden serving board. I also had a hot apple cider that night that melted the winter wind right out of me and perfectly captured the quality, spice, and cozy atmosphere they were going for - it even had a creme on top! Things you must know about El Centro: it's an urban getaway in a cup (turn your eyes away from the quiet street and you could be in Tokyo, Barcelona, or XXX *fill in with name of favourite chic minimalist cosmopolitan cafe city); they have a growing wine list (I shared a memorable bottle of Avrill Creek Somenoes Red with some old friends not long ago ... looking forward to the next one); and their cheesecake is served in a jar. Cheesecake. In a jar. How cute does it get - no, wait - it gets BETTER ... because they warm it up for you, too. They also do live music quite often and host other fun things, but I'll leave this simple for those who wander in during the day. Go. Try the cheesecake.

We LOVE Hanks!!!…read more When we arrived just a little before 9am on a Saturday morning, there were about 10 people ahead of us and about another 5 waiting for their order. The place is truly a bakery haven! They have so much stuff, from croissants, quiches, pies, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cookies, breads, danishes, scones, cakes, etc! We found it so difficult to choose but went with their sausage rolls, quiche and latte. The staff were so friendly and wearing their beautiful warm smiles. We drove out to Mill Bay and had our breakfast by the water, it was magical with the sunshine. LOVED the sausage roll; so moist and flavourful. The pastry was so flaky and I'm not even kidding when I say I wanna go back again tomorrow!!! The quiche was also delicious. It had lots of potatoes and was very filling. Again, the pastry was delicious. The latte was also nutty and velvety! Such a beautiful experience! Parking was tight but we found one shortly after we arrived. Hanks have parking stalls reserved for its customers, so be sure to check and park at the right spot. It is free.
