    Mimosa Flight
    Kathy Z.

Came here specifically for the mimosa flight, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The food and service, though, left something to be desired. I ordered the French toast and the server asked me if I wanted to add anything extra to it. I said no, figuring it would have something on it. Welp, it did not. Very plain with some butter AND syrup, but no berries, nuts, etc. Half the beauty of French toast is the extra fixings that compliment the toast, but alas. Way too sweet with nothing to cut the sweetness, and way too much bread for nothing else to be included. Overpriced for the quality, to say the least. My server was fine, but one of the other owners was manning the host desk and had some attitude. A bit of a surprise for 10am on a Sunday, but could have been a long week.

We were a table of four. Service was ok. At first they sat us down at a table near the front and then later they came and told us that there was a party before us and we were asked to be seated at the table at the back. It was fine but kind of weird. Anyways I ordered the special lamb Benedict. I asked for soft poached eggs but it came out medium. Hollandaise sauce was ok. It wasn't very special. Overall the food was tasty. Definitely needed more sauce that is for sure. B got the Caesar flight and the Cubano sandwich with onion rings. B said it was tasty. I had a few of the onion rings and they were ok. I would say the place is more of 3.5 stars. But because it's in a small down I rounded it up. The restaurant was busy when we arrived. But I was told it is usually busier. There are free parking on the street. Overall good food. We will come back

    Braised beef cheek eggs Benedict.

I was surprised to see some of the low review ratings, as we had a great experience here. You're not able to make reservations and they operate on a first come first serve basis. We're not locals and both times we've been here (summer and winter) there were line ups to get in. I had the braised beef cheek eggs Benedict and everything about this dish was delicious! The eggs were cooked to perfection, the sauce was amazing and the pickled cabbage and home made salsa just set it off perfectly. Our server was very friendly as well.

Excellent food and service. A bit of a wait often but well worth it. Casual and friendly.

Wonderful food, great service. Only difficulty we found was parking- not sure if there was alternative parking close by

Very good roasted pork omelet specfor breakfast and very attentive staff. The eggs benedict seemed popular. Also, many selections for lunch.

Truthfully, I go for their crepes, but my friends are always bey happy with their other menu choices too. The staff is friendly and we never feel rush to eat & leave. This isn't a place you need to really dress up to feel you fit in. However, you also could if the mood suits you & still not feel out of place. Truly, I am happy that they even have tables on the main level that accommodate those with mobility aids. However, that being said, I am struggling to recall if there would be a easy enough way for a wheelchair or even a walker to make it to the main door. I'll have to remember to focus on that long enough before my next crepe eating bliss hits. As Cowichan Bay is a popular area to stop for meals, do plan to go in advance for parking. As even if there are a few spots for the restaurant, there isn't enough space to accommodate the full restaurant. If you are able to find a spot at the restaurant or are double parking at the restaurant (which is apparently allowed), it is good to let the server know what vehicle is yours. Beyond more than mention "I've parked my vehicle here", so a server can notify you if people need to be let out of the space if they're leaving before you're done. If you don''re not lucky enough to grab a parking spot right at the restaurant, you might have to go far up the road (sometimes almost to the hotel) or down the road (towards the parking area by the pubic washrooms) to reach any parking options. Definitely try it out if you are looking fit an option in Cowichan Bay. I know I'm looking forward to many more future happy crepe eating moments here with friends.

The service was ok, not stellar, but certainly adequate. The food was pretty good. My husband had the fish tacos and loved them. I had the Katsu Chicken Bowl. The Bowl wasn't as good as the tacos. It was badly under seasoned. The chicken was quite dry and overcooked too. All in all it was quite bland. I wouldn't order this again. Our friends had the Miso Salmon and the Bison Spaghettini. Both of them enjoyed their food. If I return to Cowichan Bay I'd consider going again but skipping the Katsu Bowl.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the hostess, who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I didn't have a reservation, but she still found a table for me without any issue. My waitress was absolutely amazing--attentive, welcoming, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. I ordered the clam chowder, the steak, and a cocktail called the Guava Fizz. Every bite (and sip!) was delicious. I'm honestly surprised by the poor service reviews, because my experience was fantastic from start to finish. If you've been hesitant to try this place because of what you've read, don't be--I had nothing but great service and great food. I'll definitely be back! The views are also amazing!
