I got their el porco Benny. The carmelized apples was an interesting sweet addition that was very different from Bennies from the past. I liked how yellow the hollandaise sauce was. The pulled pork was nice, but a bit smaller than I thought there would be. Their house made hot sauce is quite spicy so if you're a hot sauce lover you'll love it. It was a very filling meal overall and I had a great experience.

The decor was unique, cozy, and Mexican xD! We ordered the chilaquiles skillet, Spanish omelette, and the mango mama pancakes. My husband also ordered a side of hash brown. The pancakes came first and they were five small pancakes with blueberries, mango, and syrup. They were delicious and I think mango was seasoned already as it tasted slightly different than fresh mango. The waitress recommended the chef's skillet, so we got that instead. It came with fresh avocado, beans, and quite a lot of mushed tortilla with cheese. I enjoyed it but I'm not a fan of the texture so much. The omelette was probably my favorite out of the three dishes. The cornbread that came with it was also interesting. I didn't pay much attention to it at first since I wasn't very big on cornbread, but the crispy sides were really nice, and I guess that's why people on reddit were in love with the cornbread here. The hash browns were basically fries/fried potatoes to me with some green onion and sour cream. My husband enjoyed it but I wasn't a big fan as it seems super filling. We managed to finish everything with the three of us. The service was good, and they also refilled my hot water once as well. I don't remember the vibe as nothing was playing at that time. There weren't a lot of people dining there between 10 to 11 am on a Thursday either. The only downside here is that they only had one unisex bathroom, so you might need to wait for a while if they are busy. Ps I gave price a 4 stars mainly because usd is close to 1.5 CAD right now.

Truthfully, I go for their crepes, but my friends are always bey happy with their other menu choices too. The staff is friendly and we never feel rush to eat & leave. This isn't a place you need to really dress up to feel you fit in. However, you also could if the mood suits you & still not feel out of place. Truly, I am happy that they even have tables on the main level that accommodate those with mobility aids. However, that being said, I am struggling to recall if there would be a easy enough way for a wheelchair or even a walker to make it to the main door. I'll have to remember to focus on that long enough before my next crepe eating bliss hits. As Cowichan Bay is a popular area to stop for meals, do plan to go in advance for parking. As even if there are a few spots for the restaurant, there isn't enough space to accommodate the full restaurant. If you are able to find a spot at the restaurant or are double parking at the restaurant (which is apparently allowed), it is good to let the server know what vehicle is yours. Beyond more than mention "I've parked my vehicle here", so a server can notify you if people need to be let out of the space if they're leaving before you're done. If you don''re not lucky enough to grab a parking spot right at the restaurant, you might have to go far up the road (sometimes almost to the hotel) or down the road (towards the parking area by the pubic washrooms) to reach any parking options. Definitely try it out if you are looking fit an option in Cowichan Bay. I know I'm looking forward to many more future happy crepe eating moments here with friends.
