He operated the boom and did all the high cuts. He was so careful about watching for traffic (I'm on a busy corner), where his guys were on the ground, etc. The team did a fantastic job, were fast - done in under 2.5 hours - and cleaned up nicely. Steve also used his laser pointer to identify the problem areas while he was giving the quote vs just pointing at the sky like other companies and me trying to figure out where they were talking about. Elk Grove tree service was also the only company with the spider cutting machine, which allowed them to be more efficient and cut both trees simultaneously in a safer manner. I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of and they were very knowledgeable about all the trees. They started around 8 in the morning and finished around 4. We also had a large pine tree literally against the fence that they were able to take down! Then after cutting down all the trees they grinded our stumps all the way down. They even took down some other stumps from smaller trees I had cut myself. I big reason we decided to go with Laguna was we wanted a professional arborist to take a look at our front yard tree for trimming. The informed us that it wasn't the best time to trim and that they would come back in a few weeks when the tree would be healthier to cut. Of course I took their expert opinion but they did offer to trim that day if we really wanted to. I will definitely use them again, they were well priced and absolutely worth the cost!

Since then, my tree branches have grown back so much that they were touching my home. I ended up buying a pole saw to trim back myself. They didn't arrive until 8:30am and spent a significant amount of time at the start unclear about which trees were included, even though we walked the property with them. They took a one-hour lunch break, and by 3:00pm they wanted to end the "full day" with one tree still unfinished -- and asked us to pay for them to return another day to complete it. They also spent the last hour cleaning up, which took longer than it should have because the worker stationed at the wood chipper was on his phone much of the day. In total, we were charged for a full day but received about 6.5 hours of work, including the hour of cleanup and the time spent sorting out the plan. The first contractor strung me along for a week, just to get a simple quote -- what a waste of time. I won't name them here, but they know who they are. The second contractor had some good ideas but never followed through with a quote.   Then I reached out to QD Landscaping and spoke with Tony, the owner. He was professional, friendly, and easy to work with. We set up an appointment for the next day, and Tony arrived right on time. We walked through the property together and made a list of projects to complete. He also offered several helpful suggestions I hadn't considered, which I gladly added to the list. The main project involved landscaping and irrigation repair, along with several other upgrades. The best part? Tony provided a ballpark estimate that was well within my budget, which we later formalized.   Due to weather delays, the work started about a week later. Tony and his two-man team moved and spread 15 yards of river rock, upgraded and repaired the irrigation system, installed new lighting, and planted flowers and shrubs. They completed everything in just two and a half days, keeping the area clean and tidy after each workday.   The transformation was incredible! We followed up the project with some exterior painting (see my Straight Edge Painting review), and we couldn't be happier with the results.   Thank you, Tony -- to you and your team -- for your excellent work!
