We appreciate that he was on time, built solid forms and even suggested additional drainage improvements. The finished result is better than that of a previous contractor. That said, there were some issues that detracted from the experience. We observed several crew members urinating in our yard and Tony made light of it so we had to address the workers ourselves to use a bathroom. There was also a miscalculation in the amount of concrete needed; while Tony completed the job at no extra charge using bagged concrete-which we appreciate-the situation could have been handled better from the outset given his level of experience, use a tape measure. Cleanup was a concern. The crew left behind concrete residue on surfaces like the driveway requiring several hours of my time to sweep and scrape. In summary, while the quality of the finished work is good improvements in professionalism, planning accuracy and post job cleanup would make a significant difference in the overall experience. Without these issues he's a solid 4.0/5.0 stars but we had the issues. I also overpaid $50 and my text hasn't been answered. It's really impossible these days to really see a business take pride in what they do and conduct themselves in the most professional manner. In my search for a contractor to help finish my backyard and complete other tasks I went through about 5 different companies to try and get their estimates. All arrived and were able to quote the project for different prices. When all was settled Nelson won the bid, however, not due to cost. It was due to his understanding of the project and above all his recommendations. What other contractors failed to explain was the "nuts and bolts" of the project and small changes and tweaks that would improve the esthetic as well as utilize my budget more effectively. Reliability, 5 stars all around. Unlike other contractors we have worked with in the past Henry and Crew were timely, clean and very enjoyable to be around. I know I may have bothered a bit too much while they were working but they never made it seem that way. I can say nothing but good things about Nelson and his team. I sent a few help requests out to change up my front yard / driveway. A few companies came out and looked around, told me they'd reach out to me in a few days. The prices I received were insane and they did not follow the idea I had in anyway shape or form. After much research on Yelp, including 3 company's that specialized in concrete, we hired NT Landscape to do a complete renovation of our 25 year old front & back yards. This included removing existing cement patios, a large pond/fountain, grass & redwood fence. We had a sprinkler valve that started leaking and it was next to another one we have had problems with in the past. We needed both replaced and quickly as I had shut the water off at the main valve. I called Nelson and he said he could replace them later this afternoon. Great as that was what we needed. We knew he was working us into an already full day of work. If you are looking for someone to do your backyard landscaping from scratch, look no more! We decided to go with NT based on the price NT estimate stage. They will work closely with you and listen to your concern and make suggestions. Their pricing is very competitive. They have a team and they do quality work and worked extremely very fast during the process. I was so happy that my husband found Nelson online to do the backyard! (Yes I admit my husband takes the credit this time!) So here is the full experience: We've got a new home and need the backyard done. My brother-in-law has hired two different companies to do the backyard for their old and new home and I didn't like any of their designs. So I decided to look on the internet. We narrowed down to NT and another one. As a newbie, I tried to do my homework. I am talking about months and months of research on YouTube while the house were still building. We are not good around the house and want something that is easy to maintain and not breaking our banks. The process is also more complicated as we need to please our bankers (aka parents who helped to loan us money as part of the house deposit). Our yard is also quite small so we want to keep the design very simple (and easy to maintain is like the top of our list). The first company completely ignored what we were looking for. We were trying to see if we can get an idea of price and design from them based on the space and our budget in mind. Afterall they are professionals. At the end we got some prices that were estimated that they will not honor, and were told to do more homework by going to many individual landscaping material stores. So far no sample project, no pictures, nothing. Not a good experience at all. NT is so different. The experience was great. You will thought the complementary price estimate is one time team. Nelson has been very patience with us and came multiple times to help us to come up with design based on our needs. with examples! And mostly because we've changed our minds so much. For example our first meeting I was thinking stamped concrete or pavers. Our second meeting quickly changed to uncolored concrete (to match the drive way). The third meeting was to not remove the existing concrete in the outdoor room as we don't want to get into warranty issue with the builder. He was very patience with us. His pricing is great. He gave the full price break down with material cost and labour. He also encouraged us to go to store H and Store S to check out the material, and the material cost we're based on our options. He specifically asked us to scout to the better value places first before going to the more pricy ones. For lightings, he has only charge us labor cost. He was specific to give us a list of what he need (aka transformer, fixture, and wire). We can buy our own material and we will pay the installation, which is more than fair. He also gave us what he purchased before for his other clients online as a reference. At the end we went for the pricy Ewing FXL lights because of the extended 10 years warranty (remember I've said low maintenance is top on our list)! They even helped us to get the items from Ewing to see if they can get contractor discount for us. Once the contract is signed, he monitored the weather closely while preparing the site. We opted for rebar cement. His brother Henry led the team of 5 to 6 people to do the rebar. Nelson come and check the work and give us updates every few days and ensure we have proper drainage on the site. He covered also the stuff that we overlooked like the air conditioning dripping drainage and possible water source to ensure the area is ready before pour. The pouring is the toughest work. They came early and that took the whole day. It were a professional cement truck (Not some bagged cement mixed in bucket). I was originally very concerned since we didn't know anyone directly that have worked with him. By the cement stage I have completely trust Nelson and Henry and team doing a great job. We cemented part of the front yard area (for the trash cans) and they helped us to move some of the plants there and plant them at the back. They also helped us to plant the Japanese maple which we got from the Sac Tree foundation as well. Our project was done within a month. All in all, it is a job well done. We highly recommend NT to all our friends and neighbours. He is working on multiple projects but it definitely worth waiting and getting to him on your project for his professionalism and quality work. read more

We found them on Yelp and we knew right away that we liked Nelson.  We had a basic design layout that we dreamt up and when Nelson said that we could work together and make it become a reality...thats when we hired him!! Nelson provided ideas and alternatives, working with us to create our dream yard. We wanted a large water fountain as a center piece. Nelson designed a one of a kind waterfall fountain made of stone that would be the envy of any yard with its LED lights on a timer and color changing lighted waterfall. Along with the waterfall we had a large stamped concrete patio added. We wanted low maintenance so we added rocks in the flower bed area, a trellis-pergala, a large redwood arbor for a wisteria vine, an area of beautiful artificial turf for the dog and a side yard with rock and decomposed granite with a flagstone path to trellises and garden boxes and a shed. Nelson was on site regularly to check on the work, as well as to help. The rest of the crew (brothers, uncles and nephews) were  punctual, clean, pleasant, and hard working (in horrible heat). Starting with owner "Tony" nick name, dropped his card on front of door house. promised to finish the job cement and sod in two weeks, drag his feet to finish his work in 2 or 4 hour a week worth of work while finishing other job in the same street, refused to finish the rest of the work till we pay him in full, ending up firing him after one month of delay, and left the with major defect in the cement work, where water collected in one section and does not drain. We purchased a new home and brought out multiple landscapers to provide us bids on our dirt backyard with a slightly slopped elevation along the back fence. Our project included: - extending drive way in the front by 2.5'; - concrete in the backyard and sideyard; - building a retaining wall; - installing additional electrical outlets & lights underneath the cap of the retaining wall; - building a curved retaining wall seating area; - installing grass, drip line, and sprinkler system; and - building an additional 5' gate on the other side of the house. MUST READ BEFORE YOU CONSULT WITH ANY LANSCAPING COMPANY. I would like to say it's been a pleasure to work with such a great company from start to finish. NTLandscaping ( Nelson, Henry, Billy Tran & crew) was not my only bid before I hired them and they were not the cheapest. I had 3 other landscaping company come by and give me bids before I chose NTLandscaping. They were all very competitive in prices although 1 was cheaper and 1 other was almost twice the cost. If you are looking for CHEAP and taking the cheapest bid no matter how the project will turn out than NTLandscaping is not for you and you do not care for Quality. NTLandscaping also had a high rating on yelp which helped them Win the bid, but what really helped was Nelson's pride in his reviews. Nelson took his reputation seriously and understood customer service and quality in his work. Before I go further, my backyard project consist of 1200 sq ft of 8inch thick concrete demolition (4in was standard thickness) , and then 12 yards of new concrete poured, 100 feet long of a 2 tier retaining wall, 30x 15ft premium artificial turf, 2 patio cover L shape custom connected , drip system on flower bed and a new hose bib faucet. Through out the 3 weeks he was working on my backyard he made little promises and delivered high results. For example he estimated 2 months before he could get to my project and started 5 weeks after contract (that's 3 weeks earlier). Nelson projected about 1 1/2 months before completion depending on weather and supplies and finished under a month. Everything came along so fast my wife and I couldn't be happier. Now you probably want to ask, did everything turn out perfect? Well, in every project you will see certain flaws. Some that can be redone and fixed and some that you know they did their best but it doesn't satisfy your heart. I can't say they are perfect but they listen and try to make sure I was happy when they were done. 99% of their work was FLAWLESS. Nelson was very quick to respond when I reached out for a quote. We wanted to redo some horrendous concrete steps that a former contractor did and install some synthetic turf for the front yard. He listened to what we wanted and offered suggestions on what to do to better improve our front yard. He always made sure we approved of the work before moving on to the next step. He discussed and alleviated concerns that we had that was connected to our last disastrous experience with getting our front yard done, mainly our concrete steps. We hired Nelson to redo our backyard. From the start, and all the way through, he was very good and prompt with communication. He provided ideas on how to remodel the backyard and showed us pictures and drew sketches of the proposed remodel. He and his team worked hard, in the heat, and got our old yard totally demo'd and our new backyard built in good time. Nelson is very detailed and organized and stayed in touch throughout the project to ensure each step was to our liking and what we envisioned. BEST CONTRACTOR I HAVE EVER HIRED! Called NT Landscaping as I had seen a few homes in my neighborhood done by them. The next day Nelson (owner) was at my home helping with design for the yard. I pretty much had a plan in mind but his suggestions were very helpful. The best suggestion was to extend the patio under the overhang another 4 feet (see photos). It gave the patio a much larger feel and we have room to add folding tables and chairs if we have a party that requires more seating. The project foreman was Henry and he along with his team were so efficient, polite and trustworthy. They cleaned up each day before leaving. Whenever I spoke to the foreman, the other workers would stop any loud work so we could hear each other talk. Communication with Henry (foreman) and Nelson (owner) was outstanding. Response time was fast. There are things we think of as the project progresses and their communication kept it stress free. Nelson came around at each phase to make sure everything was going well and to check in with me. The crew finished our yard on a Sunday and Nelson was onsite installing lighting so the job could be finished that day. It's also important to me how a company treats their employees and from what I saw they are good to them. They get a couple breaks and lunch each day which made me happy so see because the team worked hard in very hot weather. The work was top notch and I love my backyard! I'm a reasonable person but I have a high expectations when I pay someone to provide services. They didn't disappoint! They removed all weed growth, graded the yard for proper drainage (VERY IMPORTANT), installed all sprinkler pipes and drainage pipes, installed top soil and sod and did concrete on both sides of the house as well as the backyard. They also installed all plants we selected. It was done ahead of schedule and most importantly done right! THIS TEAM IS GREAT! Thank you Nelson, Henry and crew! We love our backyard! read more
