I submitted a request online, talked to them shortly after, and he actually stopped by my house, while I was at work, about an hour later and gave me the final quote of $100 for the removal of the four small stumps. I was in communication with the same guy via text message for several days, I think his name was Mike. We went back and forth for a while but I couldn't get him to lock down a date. I told him several times that I was hosting a party at my house on Friday so he needed to come before then or after. He finally told me I was on the schedule for Monday. Friday afternoon I get home from work about 3:30pm and the tree stump removal guy was at my house. I was very confused and unimpressed with the communication amongst the people who are all supposed to be working together. I ran outside and told the guy I was on the schedule for Monday and he said, "Ok, well I'm here now why can't I just do it now?" That is the right answer. He assured me that it would only take 10 minutes and he wouldn't leave behind any mess. I agreed and asked him who I was supposed to pay, he said I was supposed to pay the guy who took the tress down (that was me) and then asked me how much I agreed to pay (I could have made up any number) so I wrote him a check.

He was honest, straightforward and knowledgeable in his discussion with me of the situation. Within a day he had stopped by the home, assessed the issues and called me back to give me a price for removal of the branch. He was back out there later the same day to do the work. I'm not a fan of cutting down trees; I believe in preserving them and it was disappointing to learn that the 140 year old Oak was 75% dead and needs to be removed. I can't say enough about how quick and efficient Community Arborist was in taking on the task of removing the branch. I would highly recommend using his services.

I called a couple of other services, but when I called Nick and saw what others had said, well I knew this was the guy to trust. Honest, to the point of what needs to happen, realistic about the process. No BS. When he came out to provide an estimate, he also noticed lightning and internal pest damage in two of the other trees. No pressure, just the fact that they were going to deteriorate faster than they should. Having tree tags I checked with the city to assure they were OK to take down. After they came out (thank you) I got the 2nd opinion. Definitely not imminent, but they also saw and agreed there was trouble sometime in the future. Called Nick and got it rolling. As the trees are in the backyard, each being 100-120ft tall and 90in circumferences, a bucket truck would be needed. Nick advises we should wait until the ground dries enough. So as soon as that occurred, he checked in during interim to make sure it was good to go, which turned out to be May 8th. They showed up at 8 as promised, and with a crew of three took out 40000 lb and a full truck of chippings by 8pm. Cleaning up so as it didn't even look like there were three trees that morning. They also took out three big pines for the neighbor during the day, grinding all 6 stumps as well. Great team, great pricing, professional, hard working. Will undeniably use them again and full heartedly recommend.

They didn't always do a great first pass of plowing, but if you called to complain, they would come back with bobcats and handle shovels if needed to get your driveway clean enough to see the pavement. They also have a really good gardening team to remove and plant your annuals every year or take care of any of your tree and bushes needed to create privacy and an oasis around the house as well.
