We had a very large tree blow down in a thunderstorm. I used Yelp projects to find a tree service. Coffman's responded in a timely fashion and came out the next day to give me a price. It was very reasonable. Several hundred dollars less than another business gave me. They were able to come out the next day and they did a great job removing the tree and cleaning up afterwards. Coffman's Tree removed a 25ft pine tree that was blown down in a wind storm. They came out promptly to view the tree & gave me an excellent quote for removal & stump grinding. I did not know but homeowners insurance does not cover fallen trees unless the tree hits something & damages a structure. I don't understand this logic. Anyways, Coffman came out as promised & was done in 1/2 hour. The stump was ground up 2 days later. Cost of tree removal & stump grinding was $400, a very good price. The whole process could not have not been any easier! Gary quoted the job while I was at work so he came by the next day for us to sign the contract. We just bought the house in the late winter and he walked around the property with us and told us what kind of trees we had (to me, a tree is a tree). He explained what was going to bloom and when. We learned so much about our landscaping from him! The project involved cutting down a spruce tree that was touching a chimney (fire hazard, says homeowners insurance) and trimming a locust tree that was touching the garage roof. Thankfully he prepared me that locust tree had not been trimmed in very long time and had a lot of dead branches in it so they would wind up cutting it back by about a third. We still had not moved in yet and the crew was well into the job when I arrived the day they started the work -- and I'm so glad Gary mentioned that they would be cutting it back the locust tree so much. In hindsight, it really needed it! I saw the limbs and branches that were on the ground and they were in bad shape. The crew manager explained that the guy removed the dead stuff and cut it back off the roof and was in the process of shaping the tree so it was aesthetically pleasing. It wound up looking very good and I'm excited to see how it looks once it has leaves (should be soon as we're mid-April). The crew was in and our fairly quickly. The cleanup was amazing! You'd never know that they cut down a tree and did substantial trimming on another tree as every single twig was removed! I would definitely contact Gary again for any tree service! He was prompt, professional, courteous and knowledgeable--named off all types of trees in our yard for us (we just purchased the property and had no idea about some). Gary is a super guy! We had him come out to do tree trimming and remove a couple of smaller trees. They did a wonderful job except they didn't remove the stumps for the 2 trees near our fence. Turns out that wasn't part of the quote because it's a whole separate thing. I didn't know that and was kinda not happy once I found out but Gary came back out and made it right with a discount on the services they did do. He didn't have to since the stump removal wasn't discussed or in the agreement and it was my assumption that it would be removed but he heard my discontent and came back out and made it right. So just be sure of what you need done and get it spelled out and use Coffman's to do it and you will be a happy camper or home owner or whatever you may be you will be happy with Gary and Coffmans! read more

This is the flyer Mr Coffman said was not his. Strange it has his name and phone number on it. He was extremely rude to my mother in-law. She was told for 1,200.00 he was going to completely remove the dead tree in the yard. When we came to the property most of the stump was still in the ground along with a big pile of tree grinding. Mr Coffman had made a Verbal contract with my Mother in-law that he had no intention of doing. When we arrived at the property Mr Coffman had my Mother in-law sign the estimate. Of course this estimate was after the work was done. Then Told is that Clean up is not his problem. It's in his contract and we should read it. This is bait and switch it's illegal and immoral to behave this way with elderly people. I'm glad I happen to be there to witness his behavior. He is a large man unshaven and tattooed who likes to raise his voice to intimidate people. It's easy to intimidate and push around the elderly.
