When you live in Oakland County - you probably have a couple trees around your home that need some trimming. When we moved to our house we had a ton of trees circling our home and knew we had to cut some back - branches were hanging over our roof and some were too close to the house that the roots were impacting our foundation. We found Tri-County in a home improvement coupon book and decided to give them a call. They service Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County. Our job was 4 trees for trimming, 3 located in the backyard and 1 located in the front of the house, plus one tree for removal. The crew came out and were all professional. The arborist was helpful in identifying the trees on our property and giving advice on how to take care of them. It was a big job overall, since the trees were huge and tall - but everything was done within the day and we were happy with the end result. We also paid extra to grind the stump of the tree that was removed which was worth it. Our service was a few years ago and plan on calling them soon since our trees have grown again and hovering over our house. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They damaged my property and refused to fix it! My next door neighbor ordered wood to be delivered from Tri- County Tree & Firewood. The driver was so inept in backing into neighbors driveway that he backed right over my walkway and cracked 2 of my 4' x 4' cement squares. I called them and made a claim and they just ignored me. They are CROOKS. I called police but they said civil matter. To this day cement still cracked & needs repair . read more

DO NOT USE!!! Hi Tri county, Since it seems you do not want to help me over the phone then maybe a review will suffice. If we are not contacted with a solution on how to handle this matter we will be taking you to small claims court. Today 8/21/20 the Tri County Tree Service Crew came out and Cut down 2/3rds of what we paid them to do, ran over my plants and lights, and provided no receipt. The biggest problem is they knocked out the power to our House and didn't call to say anything to us and then told us we were lying. When i came home to no power I immediately called the office and spoke to a woman (she didnt provide her name) and explained the situation. I told her how i came home to no power and that 2 of my Neighbors one next door and across the street were watching the guys cut down our trees and stated that they hit and fried one of our power lines (our neighbors said that they seen sparks with smoke and watched the men lift up our power line with shears to get their truck under neither it) and also that they didn't cut down all of the tree branches they were supposed too. The woman said that she would call me back after speaking to the crew. 10mins later i get a call back from the same woman and she said that the crew lead said that they never touched our power lines. I explained that our neighbors literally watched them do it and she again repeated that the crew leader said they did not. I asked to speak with a supervisor to which she stated she would talk to the supervisor for me, I reiterated that i wanted to speak with the supervisor and then was told the supervisor was gone for the day. The woman did not make any arrangements to have someone come out and look at what was not done on the tree. Instead i was left with the impression that this issue may be dropped. As of 11:30pm we still do not have power, DTE is out here at the moment and they stated that its very Clear that someone cut our wires with Shears and that the wire is indeed singed. They are giving us that part of the wire as evidence, since the office does not believe what we are saying or seem to want to even verify the validity of these claims. read more

I used this company at the end of last summer. I hired them to cut down two huge trees in the backyard of one of my properties. They were asked to leave some branches for the fire pit. they left huge tree stumps & trunks that only a tree company or a person with a crew could cut or remove. I called on several occasions & asked that they come to remove the large tree parts & was told that they would, no one ever came. i called them recently & was told the person no longer works there that promise that someone would come to remove the tree parts. I will never used them again, bad customer service awful experience. read more

My Dad hired this company a couple years ago to remove a tree that was about 50 years old. He had that tree removed along with a neighbors tree with an adjacent lawn. They came up on drive way, drove over the grass with their equipment to do the job. They put ruts in the lawn which now cannot be undone unless it's completely removed and new lawn installed. They attempted to grind the stumps and left a complete mess. The neighbors tree has roots coming out of the area now. The left over wood from both trees were supposed to be left which was not the case. A pickup came and took the wood away, again, driving on both lawns. Obviously, they resold the wood for their own gain. They demanded cash payment only. What reputable company does not accept checks or credit cards? Do not do business with this company. I hired this company to remove a large maple on my property this year. Last year, I had had an issue with getting them to commit to a scheduled removal date, and had decided not to use them. I called again this year to see if scheduling was any better and this year they promised that they would get me on their list within three weeks. I was happy with the timeframe and decided to work with them. Their job was to remove 1 maple, trim 1 mulberry, trim sucker growth on other trees, and leave one small pallet of firewood. We were charged close to $3000.00 for these services. When the crew arrived, everything looked like it would go well. The equipment was right, the size of the crew was good, they were early and got right to work...and... that lasted for about an hour. Of course, we all have neighbors who want to benefit from the research we do on the companies that contract with us, and one of my neighbors, of course, came to ask if they could do work for him while they were on our street. Before I knew it, the entire crew with the exception of one worker had moved down the street, cut down my neighbors tree, stacked firewood, and cleaned up his yard. All of this, while my yard was left in shambles...wood lying around, unfinished trees...just chaos. When I asked why the crew had left, the foreman lied saying there was nothing else for the crew to do at my home, and that what could be done just needed one man and he didn't want guys standing around. So I guess in his mind that meant that cleaning up the branches, trees limbs and other items littering the property, mulching the stump as I'd requested, and leaving the property the way he found it, wasn't really work. Then to make it worse, the crew went on lunch break for an hour...yes, while the yard stayed in shambles. During lunch I called the main office to complain. The office manager called the foreman, and he lied again saying the men had left to go empty the truck of the trees and wood. What a lie! There was more than enough room to put the entire tree of my neighbor in the truck! And they did not go to empty the truck until they completed removing the tree at my...which is, sad to say, the worst part for me. I'd requested to have one small pallet of my wood left for firewood. But this crew was SO concerned with picking up side money, that they loaded my wood in their truck, and went to dump it. While the crew was waiting for the truck to come back, I did the walk around with the foreman. After pointing out several things they had missed, I asked where my pallet of firewood was. He said, "We already dumped it." I then called the main salesman/boss John Lopez. He promised he would deliver firewood from the next job he had in my area to compensate. A HUGE LIE, again! I contacted him, and the main office an additional three times and they WILL NOT honor their word. What is interesting is that I even paid more for the service to have the wood cut and left here. It has now been close to three months and NO ONE has contacted me to bring the firewood. Had they just brought my firewood, I would have overlooked the bad service. But as it stands I can't recommend this company to anyone. For what it is worth, the large tree they removed, I am satisfied with. But sadly, the good they did was far overshadowed by the overwhelming bad they did. I hope this helps others make a good decision. read more

We had a huge maple tree removed from the middle of our deck in our back yard. The team did an excellent job. They were timely, professional and very skilled. Watching Jose string the ropes around the large limbs and gently lower them as they were cut was like watching a well-choreographed dance. The other three helpers were always working hard cutting up and carrying away the tree parts after they were on the ground. No damage was done to the deck because of how coordinated and controlled all their actions were. The team removed all the wood, debris and wood shavings before they left. We've used them a few times in the past after large limbs (from this same tree) fell onto our roof from wind storms. They were always prompt and helpful, willing to come out the same day to assess and remedy any immediate damage. read more

Worst firewood ever was told over the phone it was seasoned for 2 years more like 2 months tried to start a fire after having 2 face cords delivered and could not even get the fire going finally after 1/2 hr barely got the fire going and the center of the wood at the ends where foaming moisture these guys are scammers. Ended up splitting a piece of wood and checked the moisture content and was 50% REALLY, this company needs to stop this garage and ripping people off, I contacted the company and they told me to wait a week and it will burn better REALLY more like a year UNREAL read more

There were a few problems . They ran over my newly seeded and aerated lawn and left ruts. They cut way more than expected. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. They did clean up the branches and swept my deck. I don't think they are the most careful, I cringed a few times because it sounded like some large branches hit my roof. I did not realize that you had to pay by check or cash, it was not on the estimate or on the coupon. I don't use checks so had my credit union send one. If my grass grows back then I might give them a third star. read more

Tri-County Tree & All Firewood came this morning at exactly the time they promised to remove a large silver maple in my yard. The work was done carefully and completely to the directions I requested on the estimate. When finished, they cleaned the area and reconnected the cyclone fencing that needed to be pulled back for access to the yard. They did a great job for a reasonable price.
