My woodpile was depleted and it was time to get a face cord of wood to restock for backyard bonfires and the start of camping season. I hoped that I wouldn't have to wait several days for a delivery since we spontaneously decided to go camping in a couple days and I wanted to avoid paying extreme prices for bonfire wood at the campground. I contacted Mike (owner) and he responded within an hour to arrange a delivery. The following day, Mike texted me to let me know that he could provide a delivery within an hour If I was available. Randy (delivery) arrived in 30 minutes, unloaded, got paid, and was gone within 15 minutes after he arrived. The load was a solid delivery of seasoned hard wood (no weird scraps wood pieces). I've been using Mike's services for the past 10 years for my wood burning needs. The wood is always good quality and at a fair price. Since moving to our home in 2011 both my husband and I have been wanting to get 2 trees removed and stumped grind. I called to Woodsman Services and with in a day Mike came to our house and I explained in a little more detail of what we wanted. With out a blink of an eye he said it can be done in a short period of time. Mike called me a couple of days later and told me a start date of when him and his crew will be there and all I needed to do was just move my truck out of my driveway when they started. Although with the weather being a tad cold they were out there high in the trees taking care of the job. I have never been more impressed with Mike and his crew. They were so polite, they kept me in the loop of what was going on and so forth, they went beyond out of their way to clean up (better job than what I would have done), the wood that I wanted to keep for my fire pit they cut up into smaller pieces and stacked them neatly in the back of my yard. I am beyond impressed with Woodsman Services and will be using them again in the near future. Woodsman Services always comes thru when I need them! This was my 3rd time using their services; this time I was in a bit of a time crunch to get a couple trees removed before I could proceed with another backyard project. The communication was great and the team showed up on time. As far as the tree removals itself, they did a professional job while taking care of the surrounding property including my home itself. They were even able to grind some old stumps and leave me the wood chips behind in the desired location for me. He gave me the option of taking them as well. The estimate was able to be provided to me on a weekend evening which was a big help as I have a busy schedule during the work week! The pricing is always very competitive as well! This is the second year that we have used Woodsman and I could not be happier. The scheduling of delivery was super simple and they were flexible when I had to make a last minute change. The delivery was fast and was very friendly and professional. Yes, I said professional in regards to firewood delivery because he was, even taking care to protect some extensions chords that were in the area were I needed the wood dropped. The quality of the wood last year and this has been excellent. I am not an expert but this load seemed to be 90% hardwood at the least. It was all chooped in perfect sizes for a standard fireplace and, just like last year's delivery, seems to have been seasoned at least two years! Woodsman Services is the absolute best in the business! A huge portion of our oak tree had fallen and we called a few places. Mike and Roger came to our rescue the same day we called coming to check damages. They began and finished removing the fallen portion of tree the following day. The following week they returned to take down the rest of the tree and did so as gracefully and safely as I've ever seen and affordably. Mike even took a moment to pose for a quick photo with my nephew and his Grandpa in front of the wood chipper. That's a big deal to a little boy!! I called Woodsman based on their Yelp reviews and boy they did not steer me wrong! Mike was fantastic to work with, honest and very professional. I needed my maple cleaned up as the prior owners had butchered it. Mike and his crew did a fantastic job and left no trace that they had been there. What I absolutely love about Woodsman (and why I went with them) is there dedication to the safe and healthy upkeep of the Urban Forest. He was not just out for my money. I also needed an oak tree trimmed up in my backyard and Mike was honest in saying he wouldn't do it until the fall for the safety and long term health of the tree......WONDERFUL! Had an interesting run in with one of your servicemen this am in Bloomfield township. I said some thing about his driving and that I was going to call the main office to report him and he lit into me like no one has ever done before. His rant contained more f words than I've heard in a long time , a "go to hell lady"and "you can call the fucking President for all I care" to round out his delightful tirade. All he had to do was say he'd take it easy next time he was in the neighborhood. When I called the number on his truck he tore into me again telling me to get a life and pay attention to my driving. We had 3 large spruce trees right up next to our house, and right next to a Maple we wanted to keep. They dropped the three trees and took them apart without nicking the Maple. They definitely left the place cleaner than when they came. There were some ruts left in our yard, but we kind of expected that since the ground was a bit soft and it was a big removal. They did take steps to minimize damage to the lawn like dropping the trees across logs. They also did a great job grinding the stumps. The price was very fair, and they were very pleasant to work with. We will definitely be considering them for a future tree jobs. I do plan to recommend them to friends and neighbors. read more

Called to get firewood delivered. I believe it was Mike on the phone. Answered on a speaker phone which created a terrible echo. That happens but he sounded like I interrupted him with the call and was absolutely rude. I'll say it - the guy was a jerk. Wanted $200 for a face cord. Anyway, I just said thanks and hung up. Don't bother with this guy. I called English Gardens who I thought would be expensive - they charged $190 to deliver a face cord the next day (Tuesday of Thanksgiving week) and were professional and courteous. Mike - don't write a response explaining or apologizing for your behavior. There is no excuse for it and it's totally unacceptable. read more

I've been purchasing firewood from Woodsman Services for about 5 years now and have never been disappointed! I heat my home with a wood burning stove. When I first met Mike he explained to me in detail the best way to efficiently use the wood. I was knew to this but thanks to his help it made things a lot easier! I went through businesses selling 'seasoned' wood that actually wasn't truly seasoned. Mike only sells seasoned firewood and at a very reasonable price. (The pictures show it!) This is not wood that has been cut down from a dead tree yesterday. That is not seasoned! I highly recommend Mike and his crew! To me communication is key. Mike gives that plus! read more

Value I buy wood from Woodsman Services several times a year... I send a quick email and they are delivering within a week or so..... sometimes next da...A friend of mine even had same day delivery because she was having a party and got caught without firewood..great communication... they always let you know what they're doing and when they're going to be doing it ...no surprises..the workers that drop the wood off are very, very friendly ...They follow my directions... I don't like any trucks pulling too close to my landscaping and they always honor all of my requests like that... very good company... .. read more

I just can't say enough about the professionalism, talent and expedient service! I had an old Red Maple taken out. They were on time, efficient, kind, and above all, very conscientious about everything, especially the clean up afterward! The job went without a hitch. Although, my arbor didn't make it back to it's location, Mike was more than accommodating having someone come tomorrow and and place it back. COULD NOT BE MORE HAPPY!!! I worked with Roger and his crew to remove a massive oak in my backyard. This was a huge job, and I'm so happy I went with Woodsman. In about 4 days the tree was down, and stump ground. My yard was completely clean every night, even though I told them they really didn't need to as I understood the job was under way. All said and done, not one speck of saw dust was left anywhere. THIS IS A HUGE DEAL, as I have had friends and family who have had work done, and their yards have been left a mess. Run away and give your money to an honest business. This business does not pull permits. The owner called me names and my husband names. Flipped me off. He said he lives in the neighborhood. He does not. And this is not how you treat neighbors. He told me to take my fat self in the house. I will be reporting this business to everyone who will listen. So not exactly the ordinary tree problem, but I had a toy drone get stuck really high up in a tree out in front of my house. In all instances he's done the work quickly and precisely what we had agreed upon. On Friday the 13th of September, we had huge tree limbs fall across both vehicles in driveway and slide into our garage door along with a side of the house. Mike Drabek and his crew came out Saturday morning to at least get the one car from under the tree so we had a vehicle to drive.
