The interaction was pleasant and quick--he was very straightforward and communicative. Paulie came through and trimmed the branch for us, promising to come back in the morning to remove the fallen branches. My initial impression was great because he reached out so quickly and was both professional and kind. The service exceeded my expectations! I thought the process would take longer, but from the initial quote to the job being complete, it only took about two hours, and the service was affordable! For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to park their multi-tonne truck on MY lawn in what is clearly marked a no parking zone. This resulted in rather significant damage to my lawn. I pointed this out to the crew leader who admitted their folly and promised to repair the damage. After several weeks I called the owner Dan to inquire why my lawn was not fixed. Dan was again apologetic and actually showed up 15 minutes later to see the damage for himself. Again I was promised they would repair the damage they caused. I would point out I was calm and reasonable with both Dan and his employee, I just wanted my lawn fixed. So now after three months I've had to repair the damage myself because the ruts were ruining my lawnmower (it was bottoming out). So thanks for nothing Dan! Long story short, don't hire Dan's Tree Service if you like your neighbours.

They did such a great job and our trees were looking so lush. Fast forward to this summer when a BIG storm took down a branch that just missed the corner of our house. On inspection of the branch, it was super duper hollow and riddled with carpenter ants. We were convinced our tree was toast and knew we knew we needed to call Handy Feller to give us the bad news. When Lon showed up to check out the scene, he assumed we made up our minds and told us their schedule is getting pretty far into autumn. When I said we're so bummed to see it go he kind of lit up a bit and basically said "well, not to talk myself out of work, but your tree is actually fine" and gave us tips on getting rid of the ants. We were so relieved and that made us respect Handy Feller even more. We very highly recommend hiring them to trim and care for your trees on a regular basis because they are honest and actually care about the health of the tree and will be truthful if the tree needs to be felled, which can come in pretty handy these days... lol
