Just watched these guys spike up my neighbor's maple and oak trees to prune them, leaving open scars prone to infection. They clearly have no concept of how to properly prune a tree. They left the trees lion-tailed making them more likely to fall in a storm. Their climber had no helmet or eye protection as required by OSHA and industry standards. Keep these guys away from any mature hardwood trees unless you want them totally removed. read more

Don't do business with this company. I paid $3000 in July 2024 for yard clean up and tree trimming after a neighbor's huge oak tree branch fell and left debris in my yard. I had one very large dead branch on my own oak and wanted it along with other dead branches trimmed. Roger and crew showed up as scheduled and did a good job cleaning of the yard debris but only trimmed about 1/2 of the dead branches in the oak. The large branch that I specifically hired him to do did not get trimmed because Roger told me that DTE needed to trim that branch as it was above the primary electric lines. DTE came out a few days later and told me it was not their responsibility and to have my tree service take that branch down. Since then, Roger has committed to coming out at least four or five times to complete the job but has not shown up for any of the scheduled appointments. It's been over four months and he no longer even responds to my calls or texts. I had another tree company quote completing the job and was quoted $700. The last time we spoke, I told Roger that he could either refund me the $700 so I could hire the other company or to complete the job. He promised to finish the job but never showed or called. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and hope that Roger does the right thing. I am a senior citizen and living on a fixed income and should not have to pay another company to complete this work. read more

I called to get an estimate on having a small tree cut down. I was told that someone would come out the next morning to give an estimate. A few minutes later someone called and said they could come out now, which really wasn't convenient for me, but I said all right. I got a price of $100, which I okayed, and the tree was cut down. I paid an additional $50 to have it hauled away. It was only when I was ready to pay after the tree had been cut down that I was informed that he didn't take credit cards or even checks. I'm on a fixed income and don't have $150 just laying around. When I called Elite back and spoke to Roger, he said that he was swamped with work himself and so called someone else to do the job, and that he didn't know that that person only accepted cash. The owners seem to have a HUGE lack of communication. I was quoted $1700 by Wayne. Roger showed up to the house and asked us to give him $2000 for the tree trimming. If I could rate this company 0, I most definitely would. I was quoted by a team member in Feb 2017 and shortly after I decided I would move forward with their service. Upon arrival, they stated another tree in my yard was at risk (conveniently nothing about this tree when the estimate was done was mentioned). I decided to pay for that to be removed as well. They completed both trees and then said they would come back to do the stump removal when the ground was dryer in order to "save" my lawn. I waited, no removal. So I called that summer and they said they'd come out asap and confirmed my address. Never showed. I called again and they stated the same thing. I called twice more and talked to the man and he said he would come out "next week" because they've been very busy. I paid $250 for a stump removal that still hasn't been completed 11 months later! At the time, I appreciated the fact that they didn't want to mess up my yard but at this point, we have been through all 4 seasons and still I have an unsightly stump. Set up an appointment with them to come and give me a quote and they were supposed to be here at 6 PM. They came before 6pm I was not home from work yet so they decided to give me a quote of what THEY believe I wanted done and left it in my mailbox. They did call while I was at work but left no message. I called back and left a message and they called back and I believe it was the owner said he would personally come and give me a quote on Sunday between 9 & 10 am of what I wanted done. Elite was hired to cut a tree across the street from me, they left a mess of empty plastic water bottles on my lawn even after I asked them to clean their mess. Slobs!!!! I watched them rake, not sweep the mess they made in the street, do they not own brooms? They proceeded to clean all the fine debri by blowing it all onto the clients lawn. Our neighbor called them to come out and trim back a tree that was overgrown over both our garages. We paid for what hung over our side. Looked like an OK job, then I went to water my plants. My rose bush was broken, like run over, pretty sure I can't save it. My couple of decorations and a couple of solar lights were moved, and never put back. We got a small compensation for the rose bush and excuses about why no one bothered to speak up about these things, when they came for the check. They were hired to remove a single tree for a senior citizen in Warren Michigan. They did not complete the clean up. They were called several times but did not return to finish the work. Just had the best experience with Elite. They showed up early for their appointment with a huge crew and lots of equipment. Not only did they take care of the discussed work but they did a bunch more at no additional cost. The crew was organized, polite, and very efficient. Roger was a very nice crew boss and took a lot of time showing me the work in progress. The crew cleaned up the entire site and blew off all the neighbor's sidewalks. My neighbor hired these people to trim a large tree in his yard and cut-down a smaller one, I wake-up to the sound of chainsaws and look out my window and what do I see? Some dude standing on-top of my garage yielding a saw, going to town milling off branches all over my garage and truck that's parked in my own driveway! Obviously they have no respect for anyone and they could care less about any damage they may cause to someone else's property, they trespassed into my yard and didn't even bother to ask (me) the homeowner for permission. I confronted them about standing on my garage and all I got was the "blah, blah, blah" routine (I'll bet if one of their workers injured himself all-of-a-sudden they'd get real talkative.) This company is very unprofessional, I wouldn't hire these people to rake leaves. They get one star because it's as low of a rating as I can give. read more

If could give this company zero stars I would. By far the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I had them out to estimate what it would cost to remove a fairly big Willow tree in the back of my yard. The estimate came in at 1,500 dollars which seemed like a pretty good deal considering the other company I was negotiating with was asking for about 500 more dollars. So, Elite Tree tells me they are going to be there on Friday no later than noon. Noon comes around and they are not here, no call, no text, nothing. It gets to about 12:45 so I call them and they tell me they will be out in about 2 hours. I tell them this will be fine. Two hours go by and I get a call saying they're working on a huge $5,000 job and they won't be able to make it until Monday. As you might think I am not in the best mood at this point considering part of the tree has fallen on my shed from a storm (the main reason I am having it removed). Monday rolls around, and I get a call saying they can't do it for the estimated price of $1,500 anymore. The boss Roger (who was a total jerk) tells me that his partner underestimated the job and just can't do it for that cheap. I ask what they want for the job then, and he tells me another $500 to complete it. At this point I am fuming, but I agree because they are already at my house, and I really want this tree off my shed, and out of my yard. About 15 minutes later my girlfriend calls me and tells me that they're leaving, and I think to myself didn't I just agree to their price increase??? Why would they leave? You would think they would at least call, or at least text me....That would be mildly considerate considering my experience with this absolutely dreadful company. But no, they didn't call, or text. They just left without telling me. After I tried calling twice I finally got a text back saying that the boss decided it wasn't worth it, and he was sorry. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! read more

We hired Elite to remove two large trees and they were very punctual and quick to do do the actual tear down. They stated they did not have the proper stump grinder with them the first day to grind the largest of the two trees and would be back. The stump sat there for another week and they only showed up after we hounded them about it. They finally came to grind the stump and left a giant pile of mulch, roots and dirt in our front yard. We called them wondering when this giant pile would be removed and they stated it was our responsibility, as they didn't have anywhere to take it. If we knew this service for which we paid cash for would leave us with a giant pile of nonsense, we wouldn't have hired them in the first place. Devil is in the details, Elite. Epic fail. read more

Found these guys on Yelp after they were recommended by others. They were very responsive up front with a quote and scheduling. However, dates they confirmed were moved, however they made quick work of two trees, but did not bring the right equipment to grind the stump. I waited another 8 days to have the stump ground (again, I was told this was happening three other times before it finally got done). When they ground it, they left 5 yards of pile mulch in my front yard and refused to clean up this mess saying it was on me. I paid for stump removal and got a mess. They are extremely unresponsive by phone and leave the job unfinished. I should have held back money when they couldn't grind the stump when they cut the tree. They took my money and ran, left me with 5 yards of debris that I was never told I would have. They did have the audacity that they could have it removed for a price. read more
