I scheduled cataract surgery with Dr. Shah. A few weeks prior to the surgery date, I called with a question about prescription eyedrops. I was told the message would be given to the surgical coordinator, who never responded. I was told I'd receive a call the day prior to the scheduled surgery to tell me what time to arrive at the surgical center. I did not receive a call and couldn't reach anyone to ask about it because it was a weekend. When I called the surgical coordinator early on the morning of the scheduled surgery date, I was told the surgery was not scheduled for that day, but rather weeks later. My paperwork from the office showed the scheduled date was, in fact, that same day, and when the surgical coordinator checked with the scheduler, she confirmed that the surgery date I was given was indeed that same day. I asked who made this error, and was told the manager would call me that day. I did not receive a call from anyone. When the surgical center called me to go over pre-op questions, I explained that due to an error made by Arbor Eye Institute, the date was wrong and I could not have the surgery done on that date. The person at the surgery center told me they have experienced date mix-ups from this office before. My experience with this office is that they are unresponsive, couldn't even get the date of the surgery correct, and no one takes responsibility. I'm forced to delay my cataract surgery while I look for a practice with a competent and responsive staff. read more

Had cataract surgery with one of their doctors and need to see someone because of a problem. No one Can see me until September because doctor is on maternity leave and two doctors have left the practice. Very poor customer service Long wait time just to answer the phone! read more

Can't even get through to these people to make an appointment. Been trying for 3 days. This is a very bad impression of them. Their automated line tells you press 3 for an appointment. Doesn't work. When I was finally able to leave a message, I never got a response (3days). If they can't accommodate all their patients, it's a real problem. read more

Made an appointment to see Dr.Lubek, as he is a specialist in Eye Floaters. Last minute ended up not being able to see him and another Dr. gave me a basic eye exam. She stated I would need to see Dr. Lubek in regards to floaters and I needed to make another appointment almost 3 months out which I did. I didn't need a basic eye exam, I came to see a specialist for my floaters. When I made the first appointment I told the Dr's. office my insurance would not cover the exam (because i just had a regular eye exam) and asked how much an exam would cost as a cash/credit paying customer. Was told $100.00, which is what I paid before leaving. A month later I get a bill stating I owe an additional $215.00 as my insurance did not cover the exam. I spent the next 2.5 months trying to speak with someone at the office and never was able to. I spoke with their billing department and they stated they requested clarification from the Dr's office and never received it. So here we are, if I don't pay it, my credit get's destroyed, I am sure Arbor Eye care has amazing Dr's, but they definitely have horrible customer service and office staff. When you call their office you don't actually get to speak to anyone on site, you get appointments or billing. I just paid their ransom, I had no option. It's that or they take me to collections. Really a sad world we live in, where no one will take the 30 seconds to review your record and clarify it. I've never left a bad review for any business and again I am sure the Dr's are great, maybe make you staff live up to your level. read more

This is the most unresponsive medical facility I've ever been connected with. The phone calls go to voice message. i NEVER get a call returned....when i need a prescription renewed.......good luck. no one responds to my pharmacy... no one cares! read more

I've been bringing my grandma here for the last 3 years and I've never had a good experience. I could write a 10 page essay about all the horrible experiences we've had. Her routine check ups take minimum 2 hours, and at leat 1.5 hours of it is just waiting around. The front desk staff scheduled us for the wrong tests so we had to come back twice. One of the front desk women was so rude to us, they didn't have disposable sunglasses after they dilated my 92 year old grandmas eyes, which is totally fine they just usually have them, but the woman rolled her eyes at me and seemed so annoyed when I said I didn't bring any sunglasses. Last week I went to the pharmacy to pick up her prescription drops (prescription from Arbor) and they said they needed to contact the doctor to get a refill, again that's totally fine, but the pharmacy hasn't been able to get a hold of them. It's been a week, I tried calling arbor and nobody answered (it was before closing) so I left a message and went back to the pharmacy to make sure they had tried to reach out to Arbor. The pharmacist told me they had reached out every day since I was there last, and they have heard nothing back. There have been other incidents, but that's a long enough review. If you have a choice don't bother coming here. read more

I developed an eye infection after being examined for cataracts. When the eyes became inflamed and both eyes were tearing so badly that I could not see, I called Dr. Lubeck's office. The voice prompt #1, the purported to be the "emergency number" requested my name, phone, and nature of my call. I provided this information and waited over an hour for a return call. When the technician finally did call, she wanted me to schedule me for a appointment the next day. If this was a matter of possibly losing my vision permanently, I insisted on an immediate appointment. I was asked to go immediately to the Orland Park location and see Dr. Lubeck. When I arrived at the office, I knocked on the door which was locked. No one answered. Dr. Lubeck arrived about 10 inutes later and appeared angry and irritated that I had interrupted his day. He insisted that my eyes were NOT scrathed and it was an allergic reaction to either dye drop contamination, or some preservative. Although I asked for more specifics, he said that the next time I have an examination, through the process of elimination, the opthamologist may be able to determine what caused the reaction. In other words, he did not know how my eyes became so inflamed. So I left he location not knowing just how to avoid another occurrence. read more

I first went to Dr Lubeck in April, for a Lasik consultation. Given my problems with dry eye, he was very careful to treat the condition first, over several months, before doing the lasik this past August. I have had appointments at his Orland Park, Homewood, and Chicago offices. I've always been seen on time, attentively, and courteously. Both Abbey, his assistant, and the doctor have always been nice and seem to genuinely care for you. As for the actual Lasik procedure, it was over and done with in about 15-20 minutes and I was able to see the moment the procedure was over - with my vision gradually improving over the next few days. It's been more than two weeks since the procedure and I've experienced no issues thus far. Anyone considering Lasik would be in good hands at Arbor. read more

Dr. Lubek did my Lasik surgery in 2008! It was the best decision, with the best doctor, that I could ever make. Both of my siblings have gone to him and also speak very well of Dr. Lubek. Very patient and caring. read more

This facility is extremely busy, but all staff are efficient, kind, and very patient with the majority of senior citizen clientele. My mother is being followed for glaucoma and has also had cataract surgery through Arbor Eye Center. Overall, excellent care. read more

Most of the ophthalmologists are great. Mine left and I was given a appointment with Dr. Sengal. She came in rushed and started telling me what I was going to do that day. I was not scheduled for a dilation and if you have had one you know the day is shot. I told her no as I had to work, and she became even more demanding and over bearing. She was bossy and rude and dressed very unprofessionally, like going to the gym. Tight clothes. I have been going to this clinic for 10 years. Then without telling me a thing on our first visit she makes my next appointment with another doctor. Just as well, I will never see her again. I guess she liked me as much as I liked her. read more

I finally got my husband in to a "real" eye doctor and they did everything wrong! Prescription for new glasses was filled elsewhere, husband could not see!!!!....the facility that made the glasses said that the prescription written was very different from his previous glasses prescription..... So I called Arbor Eye clinic back to see if they could get him in or look at the prescription to see if it was written correctly, etc, etc. They were not very helpful, wanted to schedule another appointment for another full exam in the middle of the afternoon, during a work day for my husband, who has a full work schedule and is very hard to get time off. Needless to say....not a very service oriented, or helpful office at all....they did not "read" his old glasses, or have record of his old prescription....or so they say....so why would the doctor tell him his eyes had not changed much but would write him a new prescription. I will probably never get my husband to a "real" ophthalmologist again....and I will not return to this clinic for my next exam either. read more

We liked him immediately. His staff is wonderful. He came highly recommended from our local eye doctor for good reason. And, the rates were competitive despite his reputation for being the best. I had been suffering for many years with deteriorating vision due to mature cataracts. It continued to worsen to a point that I could not see near or far, I couldn't even read things close up! I was extremely afraid of getting surgery and in part the reason why I waited so long to get help. It has been a true life changing event having Dr. David M. Lubeck conduct the procedure of removing my mature cataracts and implanting the lens (lasik) to gain INSTANT 20/20 vision.I have absolutely zero complaints with the outcome of the surgery, my eyes feel and see perfectly!
