I told the front desk that I changed purses and inadvertently left my license in that purse, she said oh, I understand however our policy is you have present it at the time of service. She then picked up her cell phone and called who I am assuming was her manager to explain the situation. Now, from where I was standing I could hear the responses...this person, stated absolutely not, I had to have my drivers license or state I.D. right now or I could not be seen. I told the receptionist as soon as I got home I could upload my I.D. into the patient portal; her posture remained the same. She was told I have credit cards, that match my name, not to mention I completed all office forms with the same identification. Still no go...I certainly understand policy, however there has to be a little give. Why couldn't they just see me?? If I did not provide the I.D. they could have just not scheduled any further appointments until provided. The front desk was not friendly at all and not very customer oriented. Today I had an outbreak of shingles, near my eye. being a holiday their office was close and I had the luck to have Dr Peterson (no relation) on call. they where close, he invited me to one of the offices he was at working in office paperwork and gave me a check up. the dude on a day off, close office took care of me. this is special, beyond normal care and expectation.

Went in to for my yearly check up and to order contacts I usually go with Dr.kuhar but this time I…read morewent with the other doctor he was testing my prescription I kept telling him I couldn't see so he just gave up and he never got it to where can see so when I got my contacts it was the wrong prescription I had to go back again with Drkuhar this time and he took his time and got my right prescription he ordered me my trials and when I called back to order my yearly contacts with the right prescription they were trying to charge me again $600 to order these new contacts even though I had already paid last time when they messed up and gave me to wrong prescription I had spoke with Margaret and she was rude and not helpful at all I was explaining to her the situation and she just said it was weird and seem like she didn't want to order me the right prescription she was telling me only one of my prescription had changed but no it was both I'm not sure if these people are not communicating with each other or writing notes but this is very unprofessional she kept saying she would have to talk to her supervisor so I asked her if she can ask her and she said she wasn't in so I asked when would she be in so you can ask her because this is something I need to know as someone who is -11 with stigmatism I need to be able to see and she said she couldn't tell me and thats it she could've been more useful and put me on hold and ask someone else that maybe would've known but no she didn't seem too interested in helping when they are the ones who messed up. When I told Drkuhar about it he said we would just need to return my old prescription and they would order me the new prescription I don't see why they would make me pay twice or not put in more effort to fix the problem they caused if the first Dr would've just took his time and listen but since they already took my money the last time they probably don't care to help me actually see. Which begs the question- why does his office staff fill up his schedule while he's IN SURGERY? So we can all sit and wait for an hour until he's done?? When the doctor finally came into the room he didn't even apologize for being so late. Instead he informed me that for my next visit I will be seeing his associate since, "I'm very busy doing surgeries, and you need a lower level of care." No thanks, doc. I didn't like how rudely I was treated today. I will be going elsewhere for my eye care.

Krates has a five star product in their doctors and a three star setting in their office support…read more Too many of the front desk staff are less than customer orientated. I speak of the Orland Park location and had a brief conversation with Oak Lawn. My experience with Dr. Katsoulakis and Dr. O. Donnell were more than satisfying. However, it appears that there is no way to reach them if necessary after the office visit. I am sorry to learn that the aftercare appears not important. Perhaps that is the Krates structure.

I went to see Dr Hashmi at the recommendation of my optometrist because of a potential serious eye…read moreissue. I spent 25 years in the optical industry so I know a good doctor when I meet one. The staff was not very friendly when I went to check in at the desk, I was made to wait 15 minutes, which for an ophthalmologist office that should be expected. But the technician that took me back for the pretesting was cold, impersonal, and with some of the testing that he did I did not feel very comfortable with the procedures that he used. There is a specialized test called a visual field that needs to be done for the type of issue that I was going in for. It is a specialized machine, he did this lame unprofessional type of test with his finger. The type that your physician does when they are doing a yearly physical on you just to check how your eyes react. When I specifically asked him if they were putting me in the machine to test me he said that he was not going to do a standard visual field test, he said they do not find it that's necessary. It did not give me a very good feeling at that point. When Dr Hashmi came in she flew in like she was in a rush, she introduced herself, when I told her that I was in the field and that she could be blunt with me and explain everything in normal terms and not have to explain it as though I was person did not know anything about the human eye or anything in that industry, she ignored it. When the technician initially did what is called a Goldman tonometry test which checks for glaucoma or rather pressures in the eye that could show up a possible diagnosis of glaucoma, he came up with a high number, when the doctor did the exact same test she came up with a number that was six points lower. The time between the two tests was 10 to 15 minutes. Her result was absolutely nowhere near what both the initial result from my optometrist was and from what the technician got. She had a six-point different result. With glaucoma you do not have a six-point drop in a 15 minute period from the previous test. The doctor spent approximately 7 minutes with me. I did not feel comfortable with her diagnosis when she stated that I was fine and didn't need to worry about anything. At that point I decided that I was going to go for a second opinion, the next practice that I went to was concise, thorough, and the doctor spent almost an hour with me versus 7 minutes. I do not in any way shape or form recommend this office. I also found out after the fact from someone who has worked with this practice that they appear to be "on the shady side". I honestly wish that I had heard that prior to going to this particular practice. I never would have gone.
