Residential pool replastering and renovation. The "bottom line up front" is that the owner, Steve, delivered an Outstanding result; our 51 year old pool is now completely refreshed with modern plaster material that gives exactly the look we wanted, waterline and step edge tiling look to outlast trends, and a new VGBA compliant drain cover to prevent injuries and drowning (safety first!). On time and at a price that easily beats the competition. Aquatic Solutions is simply the best! read more

We contacted Aquatic Solutions to fulfill our family's dream of having our own pool. It would be an understatement to say that they went above and beyond in making our dreams a reality. Steve and his crew at AS worked with us on our various requests and we couldn't be happier. From planning to permitting, excavating and decking the process was a breeze. We would recommend them to anyone looking to add a pool for their family enjoyment. read more

I called several Pool contractors for quotes on replacing my vinyl pool liner as well as some equipment. Steve was quick to reply and stop by, gave a competitive quote and a quick start date for the work. I actually had to slow him down for 2 days for personal reasons, his NY energy shone through all the way. Steve is fun to work with and his professionalism, attention to detail and follow through are exemplary. He's generous with his time and replies to questions almost instantly. He seems to have a specialized crew member for any problem that could possibly come up and they handled anything unforeseen with expertise. My new pool looks incredible and it went in so fast my head is still spinning. There's that NY energy again. Nothing like my experience 10 years ago. I can only recommend Steve and his crew. I did review checks and had nothing but excellent feedback and I am another happy pool owner on his portfolio. Larysa, Steve, Mario and Jamerson did an excellent job. Thank you. read more

Steve, Larysa, Jamerson and the rest of the team were stellar! It seemed like everyone was always available for a call, text or email whenever I had questions or needed answers. They were extremely professional and once we got the OK from the permitting Department everyone was locked in to get our project done as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible. What I appreciated most about Steve is right from the beginning he was very honest with us and told us what we HAD to hear regarding building our pool/spa and not what we WANTED to hear. You can tell he has been in this business for a very long time and is extremely good at what he does. We could not have imagined this pool turning out any better than it did! Big Mahalo to the entire Aquatic Solution team!!! read more

The Aquatic Solutions team built our dream pool. The entire end to end process from consultation to final inspection went smoothly. We were kept in the loop with each step and the team communicated with us effectively. Steve and Rachel kept in constant communication with us during each step of the project and answered all our questions. Our son was just born during the project, Rachel informed us in advance when to expect the big loud machines so we could plan accordingly with our new born son. Small acts like that show the integrity and how much they genuinely care about their customers. During our consultation with Steve we mentioned to him that we envisioned an area in the pool where our son can sit and play. Steve drew out a design he came up with on the spot after listening to what we wanted our pool to be like. We have a little "splash zone" in our pool for our dog and son to sit and play. The team were prompt in responding and treated us like family. The crews that came to our home daily to work on the pool were respectful and friendly. Overall, our experience with the Aquatic Solutions team was amazing. They are organized, prompt to respond, respectful, and honest people that genuinely care about their customers. Thank you to Steve and the team for building our dream pool! read more

We contacted this company multiple times throughout our endeavor of getting our pool being redone. The owner of this company has been rude and disrespectful to us multiple times throughout the past 3-4 years we have been talking to them. Originally when we were trying to get the pool done with them, the owner said "we do not need your business". After a while of no luck in finding another contractor we had forgotten the name of this business and had them redo our pool. When we tried contacting them about possible damage to the pool and if the warranty covers it, the owners response was "I run a 10 million dollar company" without even knowing or seeing what was wrong with the pool. We do not recommend you work with this business, the owner has a superiority complex, especially when he isn't talking to the head of the household or the one with the money. Hawaii is full of contractors for pools, we recommend that you find one who actually treats you as a human being, and understands that not everyone has "40 years of experience" in pools. read more

We are currently in process of building a pool with Aquatic Solutions & they have been wonderful to work with. The owner was very informative and no nonsense as we made our decision with which company to choose, they kept us informed during the long permitting process with the city/county, and then have been on top of things from day one. Their project manager has been amazing at following up with us on any concern we have had. We have had LOTS of questions throughout the process, and they have been patient in answering and making sure our concerns are met that and we are getting the pool we were hoping for, even when that has meant some change orders on our part. Will update with completed photos once it is done, but I would definitely recommend their company to anyone looking for an affordable and reliable option. read more

If you're looking for a pool service to build or resurface your pool, we highly recommend Steve and Aquatic Solutions. Our 30-year old pool was in need of a new surface so we hired Aquatic Solutions to tear out the old plaster and install a new Quartzscape finish with a new tile edge, and a newly constructed and designed by Aquatic Solutions, waterfall. They were on time, they cleaned up after themselves every day, and they communicated with us every step of the way. They started construction on the promised day and completed it on the promised day. Adan, the site manager was professional and friendly. Steve is a great business owner who runs a respectful, honest, and hard-working team. The new pool is beautiful but it was the process, Steve, and his team that were impressive enough for us to write this review. read more

Steve and his team from Aquatic Solutions were amazing throughout our whole new pool construction. The permitting process was an extremely long wait (one year-- and that's when everything went smoothly!!), but once our permit was approved, Steve's team was incredible. Kind, courteous and hard working!! They always arrived early, worked hard all day, and cleaned up afterwards. They were also very thoughtful--replanted a couple of plants for us during the excavation process, and made the effort to put up the temporary barrier to keep our 13 year old lab from wandering into the work site each day. We had such a positive experience, that I referred Steve to my vet, who was talking about installing a pool, and wouldn't hesitate to refer my friends and family to them. Thanks Steve!! read more

We signed a contract with Steve to have him build a pool for us during the early months of the pandemic. He was recommended to us by a friend of ours who he had previously built a pool for. Steve was able to complete the project in spite of all of the challenges encountered during the pandemic. The work was very professionally done and the final outcome was exactly what we had asked for. Recently, there were some issues with heating and lighting of our pool. His team came back to perform the repairs in a timely and efficient manner. read more

Horrible service !!! Would not recommend speaking with Steven Maratta was extremely rude and disrespectful will hang up if he "thinks it's under a 20K job. Update I live in Kapolei not New Mexico and I made that vary clear over the phone but hey if you want to stereotype and not address the issues your company has that's more of a reason to not recommend your services to anyone, but hey Steven keep proving my point. read more

The best on island hands down! There are a lot of pool contractors out there that do sub par work that will end up costing you a fortune in the long run. We bought a place with exactly that and had a few pool contractors say it was going to cost us 75k-100k to replace the whole thing because of the cracks. Steve came out and showed me the new tech solutions they have to save you 10s of thousands of dollars so you wouldn't have to replace the whole thing. Needless to say we used Steve and his team and my wife as well as my pockets couldn't be happier. Trust me if you want it done right and for an affordable price call these guys. read more

No one requested or expected Steve to personally come over and pick up the litter. Even when Penni called and offered to do it, we told her she should not have to do that. The person who threw down the cigar is, of course, the one who should have promptly returned to collect his own litter. It was not a delivery company--we told them which one of their crew members did it. However, at that time we were not aware that this business is run like a fireworks stand and that neither Steve nor Penni is in control of their own business or those who perform the work for them. Steve does NOT know if the project turned out "great" because he never bothered to see the finished work. We are in a private community, and Steve and anyone who works for or with him is no longer welcome to be near our property. Steve's own words will speak for him. Following is a direct quote from his last text message. " I'm not ok with demanding crap from a small job and what's transpired. I'm not sure you're aware we are a 7 million dollar company. I'm close to getting pissed. I don't give a rats ass about a cigar butt and am not ok with directives like your wife has been flinging. In NY terms back off. In not your slave " (sic) We were not impressed with the $7 million figure or intimidated by Steve's threats. It was so childish and unprofessional that we did not dignify the text with a response. The word is out in the pool construction, refinishing, and maintenance industry on Oahu. Bad reviews and bad behavior cost a business and affect its bottom line, and there's no getting around that. If someone wants to be treated with respect, then they must show respect. Apparently, Steve never learned this, or perhaps he is dealing with some untreated anger management problem or other personal issue. If so, we sincerely hope he gets help. read more

I just called based upon the wonderful reviews and was met with a fairly rude response. He says he knows how to re-tile but won't do it. All I asked was for a price. I realize it won't be cheap but he dismissed me out of hand and because I asked questions he called me rude. I wasn't. I guess he has enough business. I mean if it can be done and he knows how to do it correctly, why won't he even consider doing it? He was very dismissive. read more

We got multiple bids to do our pool build and ultimately went with Steve and Adan because of the value...but I would choose them again and again because of how wonderful their company is to work with. All of their crews were respectful of our space and more than happy to accommodate our requests. From the early planning stages of the rendering with Jon Magel (also fantastic) to the layout with Adan to the very end, we are so happy we went with Aquatic Solutions. Penni from their office side of the business was so friendly, responsive and always followed up - she kept us informed of what was to come every step of the way. Adan was patient in the layout and planning and had great suggestions and insight as we went. Romeo was at our project site nearly every day and was so respectful of our property and their presence at our home. Steve was ALWAYS available for me when I had questions or concerns and even responded when he was off island for a convention - he takes pride in his customer service and business and it truly shows in his interactions with me as a customer. Because we were complete "newbies" to pool owners it was a learning curve for me with logistic layout for equipment. I would recommend touching base with Steve or Adan when deciding where to place you equipment and waterlines etc. Even after our project was complete my questions and finishing touch messages were responded to and followed up on. This company was professional, efficient and dependable. I recommend them to anyone who is thinking about building a pool! I can't wait for the day I can call Steve to build me my spa! read more

As a first time homeowner with a pool, I started the process without much of prior knowledge about refinishing a pool. All I knew was that the pool in my newly bought house had paint finish that started peeling off about a year and a half after the purchase. I had to talk to quite a few people to get quotes and by far Steve was the best one. He responded quick, took time to explain things in detail, and was a lot more knowledgeable about pool in general than any other people I talked. His team members were all so nice, hardworking, and professional. In about a couple weeks from the day I first met Steve, the whole pool was refinished with plaster and tiles and converted to salt water system. I give him and his team 5 stars just because I cannot give him more. read more

We highly recommend contracting Aquatic Solutions for any type of swimming pool project. Steve Maratta is a man of his words: credible, caring, knowledgeable, professional in his service and is commendably community oriented. His resume includes decades of experience with residential pools and multi-million dollar contracts. On our first meeting with Steve, he immediately knew what had to be done per our request to renovate our 30-year backyard in-ground pool with a low-maintenance trex deck, a new pump/filtering system and replacement of the vinyl liner. From the get go, Steve took needed measurements, ordered the trex deck materials, pool liner, and had our pool completed in less than two weeks. Steve was on top of everything with his first-rate crew and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Steve and his company is second to none! We are more than satisfied with a superior job done! We can rest assured that our family, especially our grandchildren, will be enjoying our pool and trex deck for many years to come! Thank you Aquatic Solutions! Eldon and Charlotte I. read more

I spent over two years digging dirt and rocks out of our pool that the previous owners buried around seven years ago. I needed a contractor who could meet the challenges of changing out the plumbing, sealing up, putting in new vinyl, and at least a half dozen pool related details for our uniquely shaped, 35+ year old pool. All this with a deadline of less than two months in time for my daughter's birthday party. They did it. Steve and company came through. Steve in particular with good lines of communication stayed on top of the project with his crews and did what he said he would do for the price he said he would do it. We asked our daughter what the best part of her birthday party was. She exclaimed, "The pool!" read more

Hard to say anything more than what's already written in the previous ALL 5-STAR reviews. Simply put -- there can't be a better pool builder to work with in the state. These guys crushed it from day 1 and over-delivered on budget and schedule. They were probably building 5 other pools during our construction, but if i had any questions or problems, Steve's response time could be counted in minutes not hours. And Adan and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They literally would stop working and turn off the machinery to wave when my kids would say good morning on their way to school. You won't go wrong with Aquatic Solutions: straight up honest, hard working, dedicated owners. I asked them to give a client an estimate and recommendation for their pool at their new property. Steve came out and was early (how many vendors ever arrive early?!), took his time to review the pool and surrounding deck area, and wrote up a quote/recommendation that evening. If I could only have 1/2 the energy Steve has, I'd never sleep. They love what they do and it shows. Whether you are a small pool owner or a university, they will take care of you.
