We contacted this company multiple times throughout our endeavor of getting our pool being redone. The owner of this company has been rude and disrespectful to us multiple times throughout the past 3-4 years we have been talking to them. Originally when we were trying to get the pool done with them, the owner said "we do not need your business". After a while of no luck in finding another contractor we had forgotten the name of this business and had them redo our pool. When we tried contacting them about possible damage to the pool and if the warranty covers it, the owners response was "I run a 10 million dollar company" without even knowing or seeing what was wrong with the pool. We do not recommend you work with this business, the owner has a superiority complex, especially when he isn't talking to the head of the household or the one with the money. Hawaii is full of contractors for pools, we recommend that you find one who actually treats you as a human being, and understands that not everyone has "40 years of experience" in pools. read more

The Aquatic Solutions team built our dream pool. The entire end to end process from consultation to final inspection went smoothly. We were kept in the loop with each step and the team communicated with us effectively. Steve and Rachel kept in constant communication with us during each step of the project and answered all our questions. Our son was just born during the project, Rachel informed us in advance when to expect the big loud machines so we could plan accordingly with our new born son. Small acts like that show the integrity and how much they genuinely care about their customers. During our consultation with Steve we mentioned to him that we envisioned an area in the pool where our son can sit and play. Steve drew out a design he came up with on the spot after listening to what we wanted our pool to be like. We have a little "splash zone" in our pool for our dog and son to sit and play. We are currently in process of building a pool with Aquatic Solutions & they have been wonderful to work with. The owner was very informative and no nonsense as we made our decision with which company to choose, they kept us informed during the long permitting process with the city/county, and then have been on top of things from day one. Their project manager has been amazing at following up with us on any concern we have had. We have had LOTS of questions throughout the process, and they have been patient in answering and making sure our concerns are met that and we are getting the pool we were hoping for, even when that has meant some change orders on our part. The permitting process was an extremely long wait (one year-- and that's when everything went smoothly!!), but once our permit was approved, Steve's team was incredible. Kind, courteous and hard working!! They always arrived early, worked hard all day, and cleaned up afterwards. They were also very thoughtful--replanted a couple of plants for us during the excavation process, and made the effort to put up the temporary barrier to keep our 13 year old lab from wandering into the work site each day. The best on island hands down! There are a lot of pool contractors out there that do sub par work that will end up costing you a fortune in the long run. We bought a place with exactly that and had a few pool contractors say it was going to cost us 75k-100k to replace the whole thing because of the cracks. Steve came out and showed me the new tech solutions they have to save you 10s of thousands of dollars so you wouldn't have to replace the whole thing. No one requested or expected Steve to personally come over and pick up the litter. Even when Penni called and offered to do it, we told her she should not have to do that. The person who threw down the cigar is, of course, the one who should have promptly returned to collect his own litter. It was not a delivery company--we told them which one of their crew members did it. However, at that time we were not aware that this business is run like a fireworks stand and that neither Steve nor Penni is in control of their own business or those who perform the work for them. Steve does NOT know if the project turned out "great" because he never bothered to see the finished work. We are in a private community, and Steve and anyone who works for or with him is no longer welcome to be near our property. Steve's own words will speak for him. Following is a direct quote from his last text message. " I'm not ok with demanding crap from a small job and what's transpired. I'm not sure you're aware we are a 7 million dollar company. I'm close to getting pissed. I don't give a rats ass about a cigar butt and am not ok with directives like your wife has been flinging. In NY terms back off. In not your slave " (sic) We were not impressed with the $7 million figure or intimidated by Steve's threats. It was so childish and unprofessional that we did not dignify the text with a response. The word is out in the pool construction, refinishing, and maintenance industry on Oahu. Bad reviews and bad behavior cost a business and affect its bottom line, and there's no getting around that. If someone wants to be treated with respect, then they must show respect. Apparently, Steve never learned this, or perhaps he is dealing with some untreated anger management problem or other personal issue. If so, we sincerely hope he gets help. read more

We got multiple bids to do our pool build and ultimately went with Steve and Adan because of the value...but I would choose them again and again because of how wonderful their company is to work with. All of their crews were respectful of our space and more than happy to accommodate our requests. From the early planning stages of the rendering with Jon Magel (also fantastic) to the layout with Adan to the very end, we are so happy we went with Aquatic Solutions. Penni from their office side of the business was so friendly, responsive and always followed up - she kept us informed of what was to come every step of the way. Adan was patient in the layout and planning and had great suggestions and insight as we went. Romeo was at our project site nearly every day and was so respectful of our property and their presence at our home. Steve was ALWAYS available for me when I had questions or concerns and even responded when he was off island for a convention - he takes pride in his customer service and business and it truly shows in his interactions with me as a customer. Because we were complete "newbies" to pool owners it was a learning curve for me with logistic layout for equipment. I would recommend touching base with Steve or Adan when deciding where to place you equipment and waterlines etc. Even after our project was complete my questions and finishing touch messages were responded to and followed up on. As a first time homeowner with a pool, I started the process without much of prior knowledge about refinishing a pool. All I knew was that the pool in my newly bought house had paint finish that started peeling off about a year and a half after the purchase. I had to talk to quite a few people to get quotes and by far Steve was the best one. He responded quick, took time to explain things in detail, and was a lot more knowledgeable about pool in general than any other people I talked. His team members were all so nice, hardworking, and professional.
