John came out same day and spent time looking at system. Very responsive and informative. Would highly recommend.

The company which had been servicing my pool on a weekly basis for years went through some personnel changes and my pool was not being cleaning weekly for several weeks. I got estimates from three companies and decided on Gecko Pool Service because John quotes the best price and the great reviews on Yelp. Following his recommendation, I had the pool drained by Richard Spencer of Pacific Aquaspaces. When the pool was fully drained, John from Gecko Service came by and hosed off the pool and started the refilling process. Within one of two hours after the pool was refilled and I notified him, John came to program and restart the pump, vacuum and skim the pool and treat the water. The pictures show the story. 1) Green color water from so much dead and live algae. Cyanuric acid at 300!! 2) Residue left after draining for nearly two days. 3) Water after efficient and effective work by John of Gecko Pool Service. read more

John is the owner-operator of Gecko Pool Service for more than 10 years, currently servicing over 100 clients between Diamond head and Hawai'i Kai. Just about the sweetest guy ever! Honest, dependable and always available to answer all my silly questions. And he's on point with emojis, lol! John has been taking care of my pool & jacuzzi for the past two years. After searching Yelp for a pool company, I found Gecko Pools and was satisfied with what I've read. All I did was text him pictures of my pool & hot tub along with the pool depth and he was able to tell me what my monthly charges were right away. Talk about convenience! He offers weekly and monthly services for most makes and models of swimming pools and can also install pool equipments at affordable rates. He'll never try to upsell or recommend anything that you don't need. I always had to add more water into the pool manually to top off the water level (to prevent my pool pump from blowing out when the water is too low), John suggested I invest in an autofill device that takes care of the problem without my needing to monitor it. He took care of everything from start to finish (researched for the most affordable and reputable device and installed it). Even sent me a pic of it after installation http://bit.ly/2hFGA3d Prices do vary depending on size of your pool, whether it's chlorine or a salt pool, vinyl or tile or plaster, or how much foliage gets into the pool. My pool needs constant cleaning because of all the dust and leaves from my house (and the neighbors) so I got the weekly package. I appreciate how thoughtful John is whenever he voluntarily texts me pics of my spotless pool after he's done. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. Text or call him at 808-306-9324 to get a free estimate. You can also visit his website at Geckopoolservice.com for more information. The best! read more

Although out of our pool service area, he responded quickly and provided a recommendation for a pool service individual in our area.

Great communication. I would love to work with them if I could since they were very responsive with my questions, etc. but the original pool company continued their service. Maybe next time read more

John is the highest level of professionalism and awesomeness. As a property manager, a clean pool is critical to guest satisfaction, so when we had VIP guests coming through that day and I saw the pool bottom full of sand AND when I called our regular pool guy and his voicemail said he was out of town the rest of the month, I totally panicked. I jumped on Yelp, and Yelp never lets me down. I called John at 10 am and explained my situation and how I needed it done before 4 pm. He said he was already packed for the day, but no worries, he would handle it for me. As promised, he came, made the pool perfect, guests were super happy, and he saved the day for me. He is super great at communicating through text, which is also so awesome, even took pics for me. He is so on it. I needed his insurance and info to set up payment for him and he had everything to me literally within minutes of me asking. Every aspect of working with him was super easy and his work was perfection. Thank you, John, for coming in clutch for me at the last minute like that. Super grateful to you, and I would recommend him to everyone and anyone who has a pool! read more

I am trying to find someone to fix a problem that I was having with my pool tiles. John of Geiko returned my call. Although he does not do the repair that I was seeking, he gave me insight into possible causes and recommended two other pool guys who could assist me. I am surprised and somewhat dismayed at the number of businesses - people - that do not respond if for no other reason than common courtesy. read more

Very professional and quick service. John knows what to do with pools. Lucky we have him servicing our pool

Couldn't believe how quick John responded to my request. He was able to come out the next day to diagnose repairs and within a couple of days had my pool up and running. John from Gecko Pool Service does an amazing job on our pool. We have a huge tree that constantly "sheds" leave. He balance the chlorine well, so the pool does not in any way smell bad. We have 5 dogs that needs to be placed in their rooms when he come. He works with our schedule, so the dogs are in their room settled when he comes. Really great service level compared to some of the others we have had. read more

Excellent pool service. We had a different pool person and the pool was full of algae and problems . Contacted Gecko and in a week solved the problem!!! read more

We ended up in a home with a pool and we were totally clueless on how to maintain the pool. The previous owner had been bombing the pool with chlorine and the pump was broken so the pool was in really bad shape. John came in and with the help of his excellent contacts changed out the pump, replaced the sand in the filter, replaced the main valve, replaced the pool light, as well as having to redo the electrical lines and breakers. Everything is now in top shape and John comes once a week to keep it that way. I'd highly recommend John of Gecko Pool Service! read more

I rarely give 5 stars but after talking to John he deserves it. My pool has a bad algae problem and John helped me diagnose what could be wrong. He went through the various possibilities until we narrowed it down to the filtration system. What thoroughly impressed me is that when I asked if he thought I could do it myself he said yes and that I could call him when doing it even if its Saturday or Sunday. He could have easily said no, and charged me $100 for the service but he didn't and even offered to help. I haven't tried this yet but just the fact that he would spend the time to help and also offer free consultation shows me that he's a reputable guy with great customer service. If I need any future help I'll go to him first. Thanks John. read more
