I called to complain they sent out a crew to actually spray. Did nothing for the ants and spiders. They then charged my credit card but did nothing. I explained the boy I'll call him lied when he came to the door and I don't want them on my property again. I'll get a real exterminator. She said I will have to pay $180 to get out of my contract. Aptive Environmental is a straight-up scam operation. Their door-to-door sales guy came to my new house in Tampa, lied through his teeth, and sold me a fantasy. He promised the first service was "completely free" and that I'd only pay $89 a year if I wanted to continue. He said, "You won't be charged unless you decide to keep going." I asked him over and over -- he looked me in the eye and lied. Weeks later, I get hit with an $89 charge I never agreed to. When I call, they say it's "$89 a month." Then, when I cancel, they slap me with a $199 cancellation fee. That's almost $300 for a service I never even wanted. They're worse than scammers -- at least scammers don't pretend to be a legit business. This company runs on deception, pressure tactics, and fake promises. The rep flat-out manipulated me into signing on a tablet without explaining anything, knowing full well I didn't have time to read the fine print. I've already reported them to the Florida Attorney General, FTC, and BBB, and I'll keep going until every one of their potential customers knows the truth. The very first day the service guy showed up, he stood in my driveway and smoked a cigarette, then walked around my house and got in his car, and left. No service was provided; I watched them on my house cameras. And then they charged me $89.00 for receiving nothing. Absolutely horrible! Salesman solicited their services touting spider web removal from our screened pool area as well as mosquito treatments. First service was great and thorough. Unfortunately, that was it. I have had to call them back several times for spiderweb removal, after the third time I gave up and have been doing it myself. I am not sure what kind of mosquito treatment they are using, but it is definitely ineffective. I have had mosquitos in my home for the past two months! The company has not shown up on multiple occasions for appointments, without informing us of the appointments being missed. Additionally, they have fraudulently claimed that they have provided service/ shown up for appointments when they have not. They used a dated photo of my home, with a vehicle I no longer owned in it, as proof of service. When we called to inform them of this issue, they simply apologized and made up excuses. When we attempted to cancel the service due to a lack of service and service fraud, they informed us they would be charging us $200 for ending the service agreement early. We schedule another appointment because he didn't complete the job he was hired to do. We schedule for the morning but he shows up at 2 PM without the supplies he needed to complete the job. Where to start ‍ their solicitor that came out to our rural dirt roads in Zephyrhills was horrible! We all have no soliciting signs and this guy parked his car on our road and left it there for hours while he road a scooter all over the area. If people didn't answer the knock, he pounded on the doors. He didn't take no for an answer and got angry with several people. Sheriff was called out and he even had an attitude with him. We paid almost $500 and they only came out 2 times for about 20 minutes to spray around the yard. They wanted to charge me a $200 cancellation fee but after my complaint, they "kindly" waived the fee. I can only assume any good reports on this company are planted. At least 2 salesmen from Aptive were in our gated community in Sarasota that clearly states at the entrance that there is to be NO SOLICITING. These people said they were "dropped off," then walked in and were to be picked up later at the gate. I spoke with our gate guard and was told the instructions were given to ban ANYONE from Aptive, even if a resident gave permission to let them in. We called the Sheriffs dept and they were escorted out of our neighborhood. The salesman that stopped at my house referred to one of my neighbors by name and said he was recommended to me by him. A call to that neighbor revealed that the salesman had lied to me. If this is how they market their services, I can only imagine what kind of experience you would have if you contracted with them. First of all, permethrin, their "botanically-based compound" is an organophosphate made out of the chrysanthemum plant, and it is NOT NONTOXIC in any way, shape or form, and it is VERY harmful to the environment, even with "spot treating", which is not only a silly concept, but a useless tactic! I guess if i didn't know better I would maybe consider "spot treating" a less invasive (more eco friendly) approach. Nothing could be further from the truth. Insects are incredibly numerous and have very short life cycles, meaning they become resistant to chemicals really fast. Do you think "spot treating" is going to eradicate them? No way. That isn't how insects work! All it does is make them resistant to the pesticides you are spot treating them with because some survive the chemicals and those survivors are now your new superbugs, completely resistant to the chemicals you are employing. This really tells you what they are about: The company's phone number has two options. Option 2 for current customers (you have to leave a message and wait for a call back) and option 1 for new customers (there is no way these reps can take complaints--surprise, surprise lol). The rep who came to my door was a young guy looking for a sign up commission, nothing more. Who else could you ever get to go door to door soliciting for anything?! He kind of smirked and sniffed a laugh, then turned on his scooter and left my house. Very fitting for exactly what this company is all about. I'm so over it. Companies who just want our money and will put us through misery, destroying the quality of life for us and all other living organisms on our planet. Also, if you can attract dragonflies or pollinators with pollinator-friendly plants, dump standing water, and get rid of bromeliads, it will help keep the mosquito population down. I don't have them much at my house. I have tons of dragonflies sometimes at dusk after a heavy rain, just chowin' down on those pesky mosquitos so I can enjoy my time outdoors. That can only happen if you don't kill the bugs that help and protect you. Bees. We need 'em, they help our plants produce food. We all need to eat. Moths are pollinators too. All are needed so nothing becomes pathogenic--just like our digestive system. Please do your part to protect our planet for all of us and for future generations. Not only is the chemical way ineffective and creates an unbalanced ecosystem, but it also costs money! I believe in using chemicals when necessary, but that means not using them for every little thing or even not using them regularly. Initially we had Aptive 2 years ago when they came to our neighborhood. Had their service for a year and they were great. We decided to pick up their services again this year and they did initial treatment, but after that we had nothing but trouble with their automated services and then 3 no call no shows. Also you can't get anyone on the line unless you sit on hold 15min. I called to complain about 2nd no show and they promised to come back out in 2 days and treat for free and reduce my remaining rate for the year. They pulled a no call no show for the 3rd and final time. I believe they grew too fast and can't properly take care of their current customers. These people came to our door when we happened to be looking for pest control for our house and yard. I HATE people coming to my door and trying to sell me stuff, but thought, whatever I'll give them a chance since we're looking. After talking to the rep for a good 45 min and explaining that we had a large back yard we were quoted a rate and assured it was all fine, he didn't need to see the back yard. We mentioned this quite a few times as we live on a lake and have 3 dogs and a child. What we didn't realize until the actual crew came out to spray is that they DON'T SPRAY YARDS!!! Don't you think that would have been important information to give us when we SPECIFICALLY asked about it?? Sleazy salesman. We decided to still give the service inside of the house a try. I have a 1 year old and have to leave my house for an hour every time they come to spray. This would be totally fine if their product actually worked. We explained the exact insects that we were concerned about during the initial sales pitch that was thrust upon us. Again, we were assured it was no problem and they'd be taken care of. SURPRISE!!!! We still have bugs after 2 treatments! But wait! THERE'S MORE! Part of their sales pitch is their "guarantee". If you see bugs after we spray, just tell us in the app or call us and we'll come back out and spray again. Ohhhh what a joke that is! We have scheduled appointments 3 weeks in a row (which are 3 day windows) with 0 response. So we sit around our house waiting...and waiting...and waiting. We have obviously scheduled appointments in the app 3 separate times. No response. We have text our rep. No response. We have tried emailing customer service. No response. I've tried calling the national number. On hold for 15 minutes. No response. I've called our local branch. On hold for 15 min, then automatically sent to a voicemail. NO. RESPONSE!!! I FINALLY just went on the website and claimed I needed a quote so that SOMEONE would contact me. Low and behold, they start blowing my phone up! A call, a text, and and email all at once?! WOW!
