Scott is a great teacher. He has always emphasized the fundamentals such as keeping great time and groove, working diligently with a metronome, and being competent at reading music, all while being very encouraging and helpful (and funny too). Scott is highly proficient at all styles of drumming - rock, jazz, Latin, funk, orchestral, rudimental, you name it. He's a gigging drummer and does studio work so he knows the business side as well. Scott is one of the few people that was a protégé of master drum teacher Richard Wilson (who himself learned from Murray Spivak). Richard was "The Guy" professionals in LA went to get lessons from to better their technique. So Scott is an authority on teaching rudiments in a way that has you be relaxed, yet able to play with great speed and clarity. It's one thing to be able to learn Richard's technique, it's a whole other animal to be able to teach it. I have spent lots of time working with Scott on Richard's progression of rudiments. It is invaluable to any serious drummer. Besides being a great drummer and teacher, Scott's a great guy and if you stick around as long as me, a life long friend too. I highly recommend his lessons.

Well, she was good, but she was also a bit shaming and stern. I can play the piano decently well, but I rarely want to do so publicly because I have mild PTSD from my experience with her. Camilo is completely the opposite. He inspires joy in my daughter so she wants to practice and looks forward to performing. Camilo is personable and totally comfortable with children (my daughter is 9), which I absolutely appreciate, because she's not afraid of him and will talk with him about anything. Plus, this guy is incredibly talented (I get to hear him play during lessons from time to time) and he is naturally adept at teaching what he knows to newbies. After only a year, my kid is playing things I didn't expect. She has a long way to go, but she's come so far in such a short time. Honestly, coming into this, I had a low bar for a music teacher: just don't make things miserable for my daughter and teach her stuff. Camilo is far above that bar. I actually think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone better!

They reach out to my daughter's Math teacher thru e-mail. To ensure that each curriculum is practiced and drilled accordingly. I had my daughter go to other Math tutoring establishments. But the results were abysmal at best. What she needed was someone to teach her the Common Core Math, that me or my wife could not teach since we both grew up on Classical Mathematics. It was a frustrating experience for us and our daughter. So if, as a parent you struggle to teach your kids your way of Math. You're not alone! Common Core Math is quite different and can lead to lower scores for your kids especially when written formulas are required in the tests. Quality is never cheap! C2 brings quality tutoring to the highest level i have ever seen in Math. 2 hour sessions at least 2x per week. With assessment reports sent directly to you, the parent. After being enrolled in Oxford Prep and subsequently being accepted into Oxford Academy, I came back to Pace a few times in high school for help in various subjects such as calculus and English. My math teachers did not simply assist me with my homework but guided me in learning chapters ahead. This helped me to be prepared in advance for quizzes and tests and develop study habits. Whenever I wrote an essay for English class, Tim was always willing to look over multiple drafts of it to see where I could improve it. He also made sure I understood the books I was reading on a deeper level by helping me analyze the literary texts to see the overarching themes. One thing that stands out to me about Pace in comparison to other afterschools/tutoring centers is its atmosphere. I got to know most of the teachers on a name-by-name basis for they all are very friendly. The principal is not only very nice but also very professional and experienced as she has led the academy for over 15 years. Also, because many students at Pace see its benefits and so attend for multiple years, you see many familiar faces, overall adding to the homely vibe.
