I had been having problems with the bottom ice maker in my LG French door refrigerator. The service tech Riley was the best he figured out that the 8 year old ice maker was over filling the ice tray. I had my refrigerator diagnosed and fixed everything in my fridge was freezing. From my first call with the office they were welcoming, knowledgeable, asked appropriate questions, and set appointment up time. They confirmed day before. I called on Friday and Penny, the scheduler, booked an appointment for the following Monday. She offered to see if she could rearrange things to get someone out to us Saturday. About an hour later, she called to make the switch! Saturday, Riley came to look at our broken washing machine. Within 15 seconds he knew it was a major repair that would cost $800 to $900 and, in his opinion, would not be worth it for us. He gave us his recommendation for the best front-loading washer to buy. We appreciated both his honesty and his opinion on what to buy. He also told us that we have 30 days to change our mind and decide to repair it, and that the service fee we paid would go toward the cost of the repair. Called appliance works to repair a Samsung dryer, they charged a $74. service charge which is normal. The technician came out 3 times, put in three different control boards, none of which fixed the problem. At end of the third trip here he said, he doesn't know what is wrong with the dryer and we should call Samsung. He said that the company would return the cost of the part but not the service charge. So paid someone to come out to my and tell me he can't fix it. Sounds like a scam to me! read more

My dishwasher was having some issues ... aka: not turning on. The GE Profile kept reading "Leak detection". Looked inside and took out the water that had settled and cleaned a bit the immediate parts in the bottom of the tub, but still no go. Did a search and reached out to my neighborhood NextDoor site and Appliance Works' Cristina C came up several times. All the reviews were excellent so I gave them a call. The call was immediately picked up and even though this is a holiday week and late in the week I was able to schedule an appt within a few days. My appt was between 11 - 2. Cristina arrived at about 12:30, I think. She was very professional and personable and introduced herself with a warm and friendly smile. After effortlessly taking it apart, Cristina diagnosed the issue with the dishwasher and serviced it expertly. Thankfully, there was not a leak into the cabinet. She had the dishwasher up and running in about 45 minutes. I also have a 90 day warranty for the service rendered. The charge was just $125.00 which is so much better than the cost of a new dishwasher! Cristina services not only dishwashers, but refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and garbage disposals to name a few. I really liked her and she did a great job. They were sent by my home warranty company, I even requested the same technician that was at my home the first time because of the good job he did. This time I was not happy with the end result - and it was not because of the home warranty company but because of Appliance Works and their technician. The technician was called out because of a leak and he identified the problem - some plastic housing was cracked and was allowing water to continuously fill my washer. HE WAS NOT ASKED to replace the "rubber boot" for the door - because according to him the last time, the part was no longer available and since it was a pre-existing issue should have NEVER been reported to the home warranty company. I even told the technician - Javon - to leave it alone, it did not affect the function of the machine and had not been an issue for many years. He did the complete opposite - he put it on the report knowing that the part no longer exists which has delayed the repair to the actual part that is broken especially since Appliance Works did not order the part as promised. I have notified the home warranty company and they are looking into the issue from their side and I am still without a resolution on getting my machine fixed. This is absolute BS. read more

The second time was a Friday and they didn't think they could get anyone out until Monday. Refrigerator temp was up to 48 and not coming down. My whirlpool stovetop stopped working and I called Appliance Works. I had an appointment two days later. The Techician was extremely punctual and professional. He diagnosed the stovetop in about 20 minutes as a bad electronics board. He ordered one and was back at my house in a week to install the new one. This may seem like a while, but this was during Christmas! So I consider this very fast. He had the board installed and the stovetop working in under 30 minutes. The price was very reasonable and a quarter of the price to replace the whole stovetop. If I have another appliance stop working, Appliance Works will be my first call. This is a very reputable company and I would never hesitate to use them again. read more

I don't know how they got the rating they have.. I'm dubious. Last Monday I called to schedule an appointment to repair a burner on my LG range. Never heard from them after that. Wednesday came - and I still had not received an email, text, phone call ... hell, smoke signals.. ANYTHING confirming that the appointment was on the books.. So, in order to confirm the appointment was still set, I called to check the status of the appointment. I was told, "oh, yeah. I see it. The technician should be calling you when they're on the way." During the 3 hour window, I received a call that he was on the way. He arrived.. I walked him through what was wrong and turned off the breaker to the oven.. He unscrewed the cooktop, I held the lid up while he looked at the burner, and then asked me to turn the breaker back on. I did and he used his volt meter to check readings on the connections. There was no voltage change when the burner was on/off. It was the board... I was hopeful to schedule the repair.. I asked when it could get done, and he said Saturday, because he's "so busy" .. ok.. great. I asked, "will I hear from you or get confirmation from the office?" He replied, "oh, ya.. they'll be in touch" I hand him the check and he heads out to his car.. I walk into the kitchen and see the screws on the floor.. He didn't even put the screws back. I ran outside, he saw me coming, and hopped out of his car, "did I leave something?", he asked. I responded, "you forgot to put the screws back in" He promptly hustled back in and apologized and left. Saturday came and went.. not a word from anyone. Now, Monday, I'm writing this. Before I called for a repair, I had already replaced the burner myself. I was careful and had taken photos before I started replacing it. He was able to see the before and after pictures and said it was perfect. So.. we were confident it was the board.. I was optimistic that it'd get replaced. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant.. but that didn't help get the job done. So, to conclude, I paid $65 to be told what I already knew, to be in the dark on the arrival time, to remind a technician to return the appliance to the same condition it was when he arrived (screwed in), and to get ghosted.. NEXT day at 10:30 Todd calls me, introduces himself & says he'll be at my home in 15 minutes. He was right on time. Checked out the fridge, removed some built up ice behind the freezer compartment & checked the refrigerator all over. It was a $75 service call. After about 25 minutes, he was done. I bought a new home 3 years ago. The contractors put in a whirlpool stove , as i cooked a turkey in the oven the racks fell down and the juice ran over the over ,almost burning the house down . The service man came today , and sat there looking at the oven and said its the oven cavity not the racks and it CAN NOT BE FIXED. I was charged 100.00 for that. So i called whirlpool co and they want to send a man out in two weeks the look at it. I asked what will he do?? The lady on the phone said she dont know. Also i called the parts dept. For whirlpool and the man said its NOT THE RACKS, it the OVEN CAVITY and this stove falls under the lemon law. I hope that whirlpool will be onest with me.
